Eighty percent of manufacturing leaders say they are behind their peers on AI. The math says that is impossible. So why does almost every CEO walk into a room believing the rest of the industry has already figured this out?Bryce Carpenter, COO at Conexus Indiana, sits on top of the data that explains it. Conexus runs the Advanced Industries Council, the state's primary convening body for the 9,700 manufacturing and logistics companies that produce 37 percent of Indiana's GDP. Bryce founded the AIC in 2019 and has watched 120-plus member companies move through the AI experimentation phase in real time.In this conversation with Harrison Painter, Bryce walks through what he is actually seeing. Why Indiana's $29 billion in 2024 manufacturing investment paired with a 1 percent drop in employment is a retirement story, not an AI displacement story. Why the average tenure inside Indiana manufacturing collapsed from 30 years to 3. How a 52-person Northeast Indiana shop grew to 106 after a single equipment investment. Why the 9,700 companies running their own boutique soft-skill development programs is the most expensive inefficiency in the state. And why he gives Indiana an A-minus on AI progress when most operators inside the state would say B at best.If you run a 100-to-5,000-person company and you are trying to figure out where your team actually is on AI, start with the free 7 Levels of AI Proficiency assessment at assess.launchready.ai. It takes under ten minutes and tells you exactly which level your team operates at today. Thanks for supporting the AI Ready Podcast!Further. Faster. Harrison Painter

Taiwan is advancing its vision to become a leading hub for innovation-driven capital formation in Asia, with the Taiwan Stock Exchange spearheading the development of the Taiwan Innovation Board (tib). Designed to support high-growth and forward-looking enterprises, tib has undergone a series of significant reforms in 2025 aimed at enhancing market accessibility, flexibility, and investor participation. Key measures—including the removal of qualified investor restrictions, the introduction of day trading, relaxed investment limits for Securities Investment Trust Funds, shortened share custody periods for profitable companies, and eased extended underwriting sponsorship requirements—underscore Taiwan's commitment to aligning its capital market with international practices. These enhancements not only strengthen tib's market appeal but also lay a solid foundation for Taiwan's broader ambition of achieving as Asia Innovation Capital.Aligned with this vision, the Taiwan Stock Exchange, in collaboration with Z/Yen Group, the compiler of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), is pleased to host this online forum. Bringing together representatives from academia, the startup ecosystem, and tib-listed companies, this webinar will offer a multifaceted perspective on how tib serves as a cornerstone of Taiwan's Asia Innovation Capital (AIC) strategy. By integrating policy direction with real-world insights, the session aims to demonstrate how capital markets can empower startups, accelerate growth trajectories, and enhance the overall momentum of Taiwan's industrial development. We cordially invite professionals and stakeholders interested in capital markets and startup innovation to join us in exploring Taiwan's journey toward becoming the AIC—a premier destination for high-potential enterprises and a preferred market for innovation-led growth. Together, let us discover how Taiwan is shaping a vibrant, future-ready ecosystem that connects innovation with capital on a global scale.

It's called the Pathway to Progress. That's the name of a strategic plan that Nicolle Cestero has helped shape and shepherd at American International College, first as interim president, then since shedding that interim tag last summer — a plan that responds to a shifting higher-ed landscape by reimagining significant aspects of AIC's academic programs, faculty roles, degree options, and more. For the next episode of BusinessTalk, Nicolle sits down with BusinessWest Editor Joe Bednar to talk about all that and many other aspects of a job she never imagined she'd have when she joined the AIC team 15 years ago — from the importance of the on-campus student experience to how she sees higher education continuing to evolve. It's a must-listen, so tune into BusinessTalk, a podcast presented by BusinessWest over both audio and video platforms, and sponsored by Greenfield Cooperative Bank.

Alignment is often underestimated as a single “yes.” Transformation just doesn't work that way.In this week's episode of the Only Constant, Awais Farooq discusses with Nellie Wartoft how real alignment comes from designing for difference: segmenting people by adoption behavior, tailoring communication by role & channel, and using real adoption signals to adjust in real time. They also dig into why top-down cascades miss the people most impacted, how to uncover “what's in it for me” at scale, and why premortems & postmortems are the difference between learning and repeating the same mistakes with new packaging.Awais Farooq is the Chief Claims Officer at Venbrook and a senior insurance executive, transformation strategist, and keynote speaker with nearly two decades of experience across State Farm, Farmers, Chubb, Berkshire Hathaway GUARD, and Crawford & Company.Recognized as a national voice on insurance innovation and claims transformation, Awais has spoken at leading industry conferences and executive leadership forums. Pea bruchid beetle was detected for the first time in peas harvested in the UK in 2025. The AIC, BSPB, NFU and PGRO are working together to identify mitigations and minimise the risk of spread from the two sites in Landbeach, Cambridgeshire and Stubton, Lincolnshire.Having been confirmed post-harvest on both sites, the crops were removed and fumigated. However, due to the risk of mature beetles overwintering in the local area we have identified the need to establish a voluntary restriction zone within which we ask that growers abstain from planting pea crops in 2026.In the intermediary, establishment of catch crops and ongoing monitoring will be undertaken at the sites for the 2026 and 2027 growing seasons. The two confirmed findings have raised concern within the sector, presenting challenges not only to crop integrity and yield, but also to the continued confidence of our domestic and international trading partners. If unmanaged, these issues could have detrimental consequences for market access, supply chain stability, and the reputation of the UK pulse industry. To access the full PGRO guidance, please visit Pea Bruchid (Bruchus pisorum) | PGRO

After a mad old season 8 of AiC the boys roll into the final episode and talk about the big return of Oasis this weekend, the Glastonbury festival red button coverage, James Lilley's return to winning ways at BKFC in Birmingham and Rod Stewart buying Elton John a fridge. The lads talk about the sad passing of their friend and Swansea City legend Dudley Lewis, Paddy has been to see Rob Beckett and has got a fly infestation in his house and both boys had a great night watching Chris Coleman at a gentleman's evening. Peter Kaye has stolen Paddy's whole act, Ryan's fallen down a school shooting rabbit hole and the boys go recommendation crazy to keep everyone busy while they take a break before season 9 kicks off. When that will happen is anyone's guess….@ambitioniscritcal1997 on Instagram @TheAiCPodcast on Twitter

In this episode of the Functional Nurse Podcast, Brigitte Sager DNP shares her insights from the annual international conference for the Institute for Functional Medicine (AIC). Brigitte emphasizes the need for research to validate functional medicine practices and explores future directions for functional nursing. Around 1 in 2 people living in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime according to Cancer Research UK. That stark statistic is a reminder how the disease can impact families up and down the country, but it's not just the health of people diagnosed that can forever be changed. The finances of those who survive the disease can also be devastating too. We'll hear from a man recovering from a cancer diagnosis about how it impacted his life, and speak to a charity that is calling for better financial support for cancer survivors. As the Bank of England cuts interest rates to 4.25%, we'll discuss what the best deals are at the moment. Data shows that while some lenders are offering deals at less than 4%, you'd need a big deposit and have to pay a fee, so what is out there and who can get it?And investment platforms should be required to pass on voting rights to shareholders. That's the call from the trade body, the Association of Investment Companies. If you buy a share in a company you have the right to vote on corporate decisions. At the moment, some investment platforms pass on the right to vote, others require you to opt-in, some don't pass on the rights at all and some even charge to do it. The AIC wants that to change so that all platforms are required to pass on the rights, which would require a change in the law. In response, the Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association says a wholesale change to regulation to force this issue could result in significant costs to firms and an overwhelming level of paperwork for customers. This week a continuation of our series called “In The Shadow Of…”, where we compare obscure bands to a mainstream act. This is not about copycats, but more about artists with similar vibes, sharing a sonic landscape, or whose songwriting and playing styles are sympatico. This is another band that is near and dear to both of you humble hosts. A band whose unique harmonies and awesome riffs inspired both hosts to pick up guitars and start singing; the amazing Seattle grunge gods ALICE IN CHAINS! Join us as we discover other bands influenced and inspired by AIC's revolutionary game-changing music. What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This is not a statement about bands trying to copy one another, but more that they have a shared sound and vision. It's been said that there is no originality left in rock n' roll and it has also been stated that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As always, we hope we turn you onto something new!Songs this week include:Cicadastone – “Dime A Dozen” from Cold Chamber (2021)A Pale Horse Named Death – “Heroin Train” from And Hell Will Follow Me (2011)Drain STH – “Serve The Shame (acoustic)” from Horror Wrestling (1998)EMBASSYROWE – “Volition” from Dreamliar (2024)Failure – “Let It Drip” from Magnified (1994)Seventh Void – “Shadow On Me” from Heaven Is Gone (2009)My Sister's Machine – “Wasting Time” from Diva (1992)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://x.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/inobscuria/og-shopCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/
