The wondrous lesson for those involved in work on behalf of the community (or generally the path of Zevulun) is that as long as they have a directive from the Nasi HaDor, they must continue this work and not flee from the frontlines; they should carry out their mission with kabolas ol, carrying out their mission as part of Hashem's army. But at the same time, they must feel the utmost longing for the time when they will be able to sit and learn Torah constantly and diligently. Accordingly, the moment one feels – or receives a clear directive –that his mission is complete, he should “go up from Bavel” (and even before then, he should utilize every free moment for Torah study).3 excerpts from sichah of Motzaei Shabbos Parashas Shemini 5738 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=20-02-2026

משיחת אור ליום ד' פ' בשלח, י"ב שבט ה'תשכ"ו, ב"יחידות" להתלמידים שיחיו דישיבת תות"ל במאָנטרעאַל ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=26-01-2026 Synopsis Revi'i of parashas Beshalach recounts the events of Kerias Yam Suf. The Midrash says that when Hashem says, “Speak to the Jewish people and let them travel,” it is because Hashem wanted a Jew to jump into the sea simply because that is what Hashem commanded. It was only after Nachshon ben Aminadav jumped into the sea that the sea split, saving the Jewish people from Egypt and enabling them to receive the Torah and build the Mishkan etc., and eventually to enter Eretz Yisroel. The lesson is that even if one sees that there are obstacles to learning Torah constantly and diligently, and to fulfilling Hashem's will behidur, when one demonstrates that he is nevertheless prepared to have mesiras nefesh to fulfill Hashem's will, all the obstacles and hindrances fall away automatically. This is especially true for yeshivah students, whose entire function is Torah study and doing mitzvos. While it may sometimes seem to them that they face very difficult obstacles (particularly from not-good friends), and even more so when it comes to using even their free time for Torah study – nevertheless, when a bochur is not fazed by the obstacles and instead “jumps into the sea,” then “the sea splits” – the obstacles will cease to exist, and he will see success in all his endeavors.Sichah of Tuesday night, parashas Beshalach, 12 Shevat 5726 – in Yechidus for the students of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch Montreal For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=26-01-2026 לע"נ מרת רבקה רחל בת ר' חיים דוב ע"ה שנור ליום היארצייט שלה ח' שבט. ת.נ.צ.ב.ה.*לזכות רבקה בת שושנה שתחי' ליום ההולדת שלה ט' שבט - לשנת ברכה והצלחה, ואריכות ימים ושנים טובות

Similarly, they must not chas v'shalom relinquish any territory that affects the security of the Jewish people, even if it is not part of Eretz Yisroel itself. Hi everyone, welcome back to The Chai on Life Podcast! I'm so happy to be back after a postpartum hiatus. Baruch Hashem I am so grateful for the little miracle baby that I now have in my life and so grateful to have had the quality time with him and now so grateful to be able to focus back on the podcast a bit more. Gd willing, I will be doing a full episode on the birth story and some reflections from that, so if that's interesting to you stay tuned. But now, I've been busy working on some interviews with really incredible people and I am so excited to share them.Today's episode is with Shoshana Judelman. I got connected to Shoshana through Midreshet Rachel — she is a teacher there now and has always been passionate about teaching Torah and Jewish History. She holds a Bachelor's in History and a Master's in Jewish History. She made aliyah with her husband and six children to Efrat in 2013. In addition to teaching at MRC, Shoshana teaches Chassidus for the Shirat David Community in Efrat as well as for BeOr Panecha in Elazar. She is a guide in Poland with JRoots and co-leads inspirational trips to Ukraine and around Eretz Yisroel. Shoshana has also been a guide at Yad Vashem since 2014.In this episode, she is sharing so much about her connection to the world of Chassidus, what we can learn from it and how we can connect to Chanukah more deeply through its teachings. She speaks about:-How she got into Chassidus and became a baal teshuva-What the difference is between Chassidus and other perspectives on Torah-How we can interpret the world through the lens of our human soul and Gdly soul which was a really interesting and helpful teaching-What it really means that just a little bit of light can dispel a lot of darkness (with a really great mashal included in that)-How to cope when it feels like the darkness is getting darker, whether in your own personal world or in the world at large-How you can personally connect through the lighting of the Chanukah candles and practically a great tip if you have a busy household and it's hard to focus when your family is lighting together-Her own personal struggle at the moment and how she's dealing with it and becoming closer with Hashem in the process. This was so beautiful I was really getting emotional …and so so much more!To daven for Shoshana, her full name is Shoshana Yonah bat AidelLearn more from Shoshana here.

The lesson is that one must be involved in spreading the wellsprings of Chassidus outward, as the Mitteler Rebbe demanded, at all times – whether in a state of “Vayeitzei” (when one is about to enter “Charan,” the “anger of the world,” and he might think that he must first take care of himself before dealing with others), or in a state of “Vayishlach” (when one has just completed “twenty years in the house of Lavan” and he might think now is the time to return to the shul and beis midrash to rest and enjoy the “reward of the mitzvah”).2 excerpts from sichah of Motzaei Shabbos Parashas Vayetzei, 9 Kislev 5739 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=28-11-2025
ב' חלקים מהתוועדות פורים ה'תשט"ז ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=24-11-2025 Synopsis (1) At a farbrengen in Eretz Yisroel, one of the speakers said of a certain individual that now, since he is in the World of Truth and sees the greatness of studying Chassidus, he is envious of even the youngest student in Tomchei Temimim. And the truth is, this is a clear teaching of the Gemara. The Gemara says: “In the future, the Holy One, blessed be He, will make seven canopies for each and every tzaddik…and each and every one will be burned from the canopy of his fellow.” Meaning: since in this world he chose not to study these parts of Torah, they are “his fellow's canopy,” and he cannot enter. But now that he sees its preciousness, he pushes to enter and gets “burned.” (2) Chassidus explains that the verse, “Let them bring the royal garment that the king has worn, and the horse upon which the king has ridden, and upon whose head the royal crown has been placed” refers to the Divine Essence and Being. Thus it is understood that every Jew can attain this level by learning Chassidus Chabad, and in such a way that the “study leads to action.” One must only have the will to do so, like the well-known saying, “Mozhesh, da nye chotshesh” – “You can, but you don't want to!”2 excerpts from farbrengen of Purim 5716 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=24-11-2025

Parshas Toldos: When Nations Stir This week's Parsha brings us into the very beginning of a struggle that started before Yaakov and Esav were even born. Rivkah feels something inside her that no one can explain, leading her to cry out in fear, a moment that opens one of the most meaningful revelations in the Torah. From this inner turmoil comes a story that shapes the destiny of our people: twins drawn to opposite worlds, blessings that determine the future, and a mother who sees the truth long before anyone else. With the Radak's clarity and the Lubavitcher Rebbe's deeper insight, we explore how Rivkah's fear became the first sign of a divine plan already unfolding. It's a Parsha about confusion that becomes clarity, struggle that reveals purpose, and the quiet beginning of a destiny still alive within us.

Parshas Noach: The Hidden Truth Our Parsha tells of Noach, a man who remained faithful as the world fell into chaos. After the flood, G-d placed a rainbow in the sky, a sign of His eternal covenant with humanity. The Rebbe teaches that the rainbow was not created anew, but revealed. The flood had purified the world, thinning the darkness so Divine light could finally pass through. What once hid the light now revealed it. The rainbow became a reflection of G-d's mercy and of the light concealed within every storm. The Yom Kippur Perspective: Unbound, Forgiven, Free Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year, a time when we abstain from physical pleasures and rise to angel-like clarity. From Kol Nidrei's haunting melody to Neilah's closing cry of Shema, the day carries us from release to renewal. The Rebbe explains that Kol Nidrei is not about G-d's forgiveness, that comes with the day itself, it is about freeing ourselves from the vows, guilt, and limits that keep us bound. Only then can our truest self emerge, ready to be sealed in the Book of Life. In honor of Eretz Yisroel, May G-d protect our brave soldiers and return all the hostages in Gaza immediately.
