Suian makes a plea for the girls to return to the Tower to resume their training. An attempt on their lives sets the group on their destined paths.

The Children of the Light invade the Seanchan and the Battle of Falme begins. Perrin's fight leads to the loss of a friend. Moiraine and Lan make amends. Ishamael moves to Plan B when he realizes he's been betrayed. Egwene makes good on a promise. Rand confronts his past. Ishamael gets what he has always wanted. "Above the Watchers shall the Dragon be proclaimed, bannered cross the sky in fire."

#thewheeloftime Rand goes before the Amyrlin Seat, who disagrees with Moiraine about how to handle the Dragon Reborn. House Damodred is rocked by a huge betrayal. Egwene makes a show of her power as a Damane, but has a warning for Renna. Aviendha reunites with allies as she and Perrin head towards Falme. Mat finds himself in an unexpected place. Nynaeve and Elayne have a plan to get to the Kennels. Lan figures out how to help Moiraine. Moiraine loses a trusted ally.

#thewheeloftime Rand makes a deal that puts some distance between him and Moiraine. Nynaeve and Elayne learn more about the Seanchan and warn Rema Sedai about Liandrin's change of allegiance. Egwene gets a rough lesson in what being a Damane really means. Ingtar and Loial gather information about the Horn of Valere. Mat has a happy reunion, but has to make a painful decision when he learns of Min's betrayal. Lan makes a confession to the Amyrlin Seat. Moiraine attempts to make amends with her family. #thewheeloftime The Seanchan return to their home across the sea, but receive a chilly reception upon their arrival. Rand seeks answers while he and Moraine flee for their lives. Perrin unwillingly returns to Atuan's Mill, where he evades an old enemy, while making a new ally. Verin returns to the White Tower to seek answers, and is disturbed by the discrepancies she finds. Liandrin confesses her sins to Nynaeve. Moraine receives some much needed advise from a sympathetic ear. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne find themselves in a dire situation. All roads lead to Falme.

She then transports herself and Rand into the city, where Rand confronts and kills Turak and his men. This causes Ishamael to learn of Rand's presence and realize that Lanfear has betrayed him. Ishamael orders Padan Fain to deliver the dagger from Shadar Logoth to Mat, in an attempt to kill Rand. However, Mat refuses to take the dagger and escapes. The Whitecloaks, led by Dain and his father Geofram, attack Falme in an attempt to eradicate the Seanchan. During the chaos, Ingtar, Loial, and Masema escape with the Horn of Valere and join the battle alongside Mat, Perrin, and the Aiel. Ingtar is killed in the process. Egwene manages to break free from her a'dam and kill Renna. Mat is forced to blow the Horn, summoning the Heroes of the Horn and turning the tide of the battle. At the same time, Perrin kills Geofram out of rage due to him killing Hopper. Rand, Egwene, Nynaeve, Perrin, and Mat reunite and are confronted by Ishamael. Ishamael has Rand shielded from the One Power and tricks Mat into wounding Rand. While Egwene and Perrin fight Ishamael, Moiraine frees Rand from the shield, allowing him to slay Ishamael. Rand is then proclaimed the Dragon Reborn before the whole city. After the battle, Moghedien confronts Lanfear and informs her that all the Forsaken have been released.

Nynaeve and Elayne have arrived in Tanchico. The people are starving. Things are so bad there that Captain Domon has started running a soup kitchen. When the young women have a conversation with him for the first time since Falme, he quickly picks up on their good cop/bad cop style, although Elayne and Nynaeve only do this accidentally, it sure does work very well for them. Domon eventually agrees to provide the “Aes Sedai” with men and ships should they need it in their hunt for the Black Ajah. That evening, Elayne gets wasted, confronts Thom about her childhood memories of him, and then wanders into Nynaeve and her shared room. Nynaeve promptly dunks Elayne's head in a bucket of water. Later, Nynaeve enters in Tel'aran'rhiod Birgitte warns her of the danger, but it takes Slayer nearly killing her to get her to leave. In the morning, Elayne will pretend that none of it ever happened. Patrick sounds like he's talking inside a tin can in this one, but don't worry, the problem is already fixed! Egwene and Nynaeve have been traveling all winter. Verin has brought the young women, Hurin, and a now comatose Matrim Cauthon all the way to Tar Valon from Falme. Egwene is having prophetic dreams about Rand - we discuss their meaning. Nynaeve feels a 'storm' coming – the building tempest of the Shadow's war on the world. Her sense for reading the weather and the Pattern give us many big foreshadowings through the series, and we're paying attention. Lots of speculation on Verin's dual nature as a co-conspirator with Suian, and Moiraine, and also an unwilling member of the Black Ajah. The women have a confrontation with a group of Whitecloaks that does not go to Verin's liking. The confrontation reveals not only Egwene's new attitudes, but also, the knowledge of battle weaves she's learned from her time as a captive Damane. “His coming shall be like the sharp edge of the plow, turning our lives in furrows from out of the places where we lie in our silence.” Pedron Niall listens to Byar's report on the battle at Falme – the death of Geofram Bornhald, and a thousand Whitecloaks. Byar is convinced that the Darkfriend Perrin is responsible for their betrayal. We believe he may be under compulsion and go over our evidence. We hear reports of the Seafolk searching for their Coramoor, the Ogier calling meetings between the Stedding, and the rise and fall of several false Dragons. Carridin has also returned from the west, giving some similar reports. Niall orders Carridin to keep Rand alive, explains his plan to use the 'False Dragon', and assures Carridin that if he or the Dragon dies during this risky plan, so will Carridin. When Carridin returns to his quarters, there is a Fade waiting for him. This Fade was confirmed by RJ to be an early version of Shaidar Haran. Shaidar Haran orders Carridin to kill Rand, saying each month that the Dragon remains alive, one of Carridin's family members will die.

In the aftermath of the battle for Falme, Min wanders through the streets feeling herself pulled onward toward Rand. He needs her, and his Ta'veren nature pulls on her thread in the pattern. She watches Birgitte burn the last Seanchan ship in the harbor, and stumbles across Rand's dying form, laying in the street. We believe Rand the farm boy dies this day, and Rand the Dragon is born. He receives the second heron brand, and the first wound in his side. Min lays next to him to offer him her warmth, which Rand will badly need throughout the series. Rand's sword was destroyed while stabbing Ishamael, we'll explain why. The next time Rand stabs him it's with a different kind of sword, Callandor, and they both die, in a way. Egwene walks into the room and there's an awkward exchange between her and Min. Min intends to take Rand if Egwene doesn't want him, and she tells her so. After Egwene leaves another woman who claims Rand enters the room. Lanfear. She heals Rand while tracing the dragons fang on his forehead, and tells Min to take care of him until she returns. Kelsey and Aradia Host again for episodes 95 and 96. The party leaves Ingtar behind to redeem himself by delaying the Seanchan. He has Toh, and he settles it honorably. We talk about how lots of people had Mat grow on them. Post dagger Mat is much more lovable. Despite Ingtar's sacrifice, the party is slowly being surrounded. They discuss their options while they themselves now face death. It's Mat's idea to to blow the horn. No one objects. The sound it makes is as golden as the horn itself. Time Stops. A fog rises as the Whitecloaks begin their charge westward toward Falme, and the Seanchan march eastward toward the Whitecloak cavalry, with Rand and his party in between. Are the heroes horses heroes as well? After greeting Mat and the Dragon, Hawkwing tells Hurin that sometimes new heroes are added to their number. Who from this age might become join their ranks? Could Rand be one, or is the Dragon separate in each age? Lot's of interesting questions about the Horn of Valere, it's connection to the world of dreams, and whether or not Rand is always the dragon. We talk about some quotes from Robert Jordan about The Wheel of Time universe's cyclical timeline, and where his ideas for that came from. We also discuss the irony of Hawkwing leading the heroes against the armies of his own descendants. We spend some time on light and dark prophecy, on whether or not they're self fulfilling, and if they may sometimes be more trouble than they're worth. When Rand asks the heroes to help save Egwene, they laugh at him. Birgitte even points out that he's always having some trouble with a woman. When Rand battles Ishmael in the sky, he forces Saidin into his power-wrought blade. Is that Ba'alzamon is afraid of being struck and why he's eventually so badly injured by the wound Rand inflicts on him, and perhaps why the cloud of darkness enveloping Ishamael is said to scream when Rand strikes his opponent down. Nynaeve and Elayne stay in Falme while they plan how to free Min and Egwene. They sell their clothes, and buy some in the local style. Nynaeve has been practicing opening A’dam with the power, and she’s figured it out. They they run into Min outside the Damane stables, and the three hatch a plan to free Egwene. Free her from becoming a possession, a weapon, and a tool. Egwene is being tortured repeatedly, and even she can tell that she's near her breaking point. We talk about the A’dam, how it works, how one can be trained with it, who can use it, and why anyone will eventually be broken. Egwene is a powerful woman, and the Seanchan see her as an extremely valuable resource because of her strength and Talents in the power. Particularly her Talent for Earth. In the wake of the early Seanchan invasion, Geofram Bornhald is in Almoth Plain under the orders of Pedron Niall, stirring up chaos. The Questioners are doing their best work to help, and Bornhald does not approve of their methods. We talk about the Seanchan navy, their encounters with the SeaFolk, and how that likely went down. Bayle Domon is stopped by a Seanchan ship and redirected to Falme for his ship's hold to be examined. We see our first example of a Damane in action. We also see the Seanchan's creatures, their military, and a member of the Blood. Lord Turak confiscates the seal to the Dark Ones prison that Domon has been carrying, and decides to keep Domon as a servant.   Become one of the Chosen
