It's a new week, so it's time for a fresh episode of the Locked On Penguins podcast. Hunter and Pat start the show by recapping the Penguins loss to the Sabres on Saturday night. They dive into how the Penguins did everything right except get the result. They get into how the Penguins had many things go against them and how they got pretty unlucky throughout this game. After that, they dive into the controversial goalie interference call and how they disagree with it since there didn't appear to be much contact. They look at how nobody knows what goalie interference is every week. Finally, they preview Monday night's Flyers-Penguins game and how this is a major opportunity to get two points in regulation. They get into some keys for how the Penguins can make that happen before analyzing who the Penguins have to stop on the Flyers.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Jase MedicalEmpower yourself when you purchase a Jase Case, providing you with a personal supply of 5 antibiotics that treat 50+ infections. The boys get back together and discuss the opening exhibition games that we saw across the metro. They discuss the Flyers/Penguins, Caps/Canes, and Rangers/Islanders, then dive into goalie talk and how metro goalies can compete between the Caps, Pens, etc., and the versatility of each teams' top 6. They pivot into discussing Columbus' chances against the Leafs, playing video games with funny tweets from the bubble, and Ian takes some heat for his inabilities to down a shot properly. Afterward, Ian drops the news of the UVM coaching staff changes, including the hire of Mike Babcock, and how the players will respond to having him on their staff. Finally, Andy finishes off the episode in a typical fashion with a riveting, but very important, life lesson.
Phil Heilman returns to the show as he and Lucas look back at the five-overtime thriller from the 2000 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Wait til you hear about our NFL ring ceremony concept...Jonah is back in from his Fresh year of college and contributes in a big way. Maria can best be described as mildly bemused and tolerant as the guys propose the following:1) What would you do if you had the Stanley Cup for a day?2) A total reimagining of the NFL Super Bowl ring ceremony. What if NFL Super Bowl rings were turned over every year like the Stanley Cup? 50 yard line, previous winners line up across from new winners and (Benny Hill theme starts playing) each player has to find another one to wear his ring.Would there be Red Carpet event fan overlap for the Super Bowl if there was a week long leadup with players discussing the rings, their potential outfits for the ceremony and who their potential targets might be?If this sounds to you like it might be a terrible idea, maybe you need to ask yourself this question: “If Elvis Grbac, 1994 Michigan Wolverines starting QB, thinks its a great idea...is it possible that maybe I’m the one missing the point?”*If you are an NFL athlete or know an NFL athlete, please explain to us why or how you think this will be successful and who to contact to make it work.*To date, Elvis Grbac is definitely unaware of this idea and may or may not think it’s a good idea. Please visit us at https://thetragedyacademy.com On social media, you can find us at @thetragedyacademypodcast on Instagram, The Tragedy Academy Podcast on Facebook, and @tragedy_academy on Twitter. Plus, get a breakdown on the 2018 Nix and Thunderbird roster constructions, and learn why Bailey Saul, the play by play commentator for the Phoenix in 2018, said that Pat talked some of the biggest smack on the field. All this and more only on the Phoenix Files: Game of the Week!
