Starkey highlights Evgeni Malkin's 500th goal and Sidney Crosby's 1,600th point in the same game as a monumental highlight in Pittsburgh sports. We're close to 20 years of Crosby, Malkin, and Letang together. Are Crosby, Malkin, and Letang the greatest trio in sports history? They've overcome adversity, have longevity, and have won championships together. Russell Wilson took first-team reps Wednesday and is trending toward starting against the Jets. If you're Justin Fields, what are you thinking? Steelers analyst Chris Hoke joined the show. Chris is curious to see how Russell Wilson will play this week, especially with Wilson being a more 'professional passer' than Justin Fields. Chris believes Fields made this decision easier for Mike Tomlin after the Raiders win due to some struggles, especially in the first half. He does not think this move proves that Justin Fields is no longer viewed as a long-term option. Elandon Roberts' forced fumble at the goal line is one of the wildest plays Starkey's ever seen and Hokie gives some context behind big hits he's experienced playing football. Chris Hoke likes the honesty displayed by Justin Fields today, admitting he hasn't played well enough. Chris enjoys the humility and Starkey thinks it's a good thing a Steelers QB is displaying this after Kenny Pickett's comments at the end of last season. Chris predicted a Steelers win in a 23-20 game. MVP of the game: Russell Wilson. Sean Meyers takes over for City Limits to produce the rest of the show. Justin Fields sounds a lot better than Kenny Pickett did when it comes to competition. We hear from Fields, and it sounds like the job was up for the taking if he played well enough. If they were 5-1 and Fields was playing great, would Russ still start? If this is Deal or No Deal, Tomlin wants to go for $1 million and not settle for $50K. Calls on the topic. If the Steelers are going all in this year, they should get a WR too. The Steelers need explosives in the pass game. Continuing on Fields' comments and calls on the topic. When was the last time a run-first QB won a Super Bowl? Quinnen Williams returning for the Jets could be scary for the Steelers. The tough part of the schedule is still to come, and the current level of play isn't good enough against them. Dalton Wasserman of PFF joins to discuss Justin Fields, the good grade for Najee Harris and hideous grade for Broderick Jones, Zach Frazier graded as nearly elite, James Daniels was playing at the highest level of his career, why Minkah still grades so high without creating turnovers, Cam Heyward is the best at his position thus far, Watt having maybe the best year of career, Joey Porter Jr is getting a very low grade. and so is Patrick Queen. who draws some concerns. Jeff Hathhorn joins to react to Fields' comments, what he would've needed to do to keep the job, the latest on injuries - Highsmith, Pruitt, his game prediction against the Jets. Reminiscing about Ron.

Penguins analyst Paul Steigerwald joined the show. Paul doesn't think Jake Guentzel will be traded. Some people think Guentzel can get you something great in return to start the retooling of the team post-Crosby, Malkin, and Letang. On the open market, Paul thinks Guentzel would get 8-9 million. The Pens are no longer in a window of going all in and having to make a big trade at the deadline. Paul thinks it starts to become like fantasy hockey. Things have to go right to win a Stanley Cup and it's very difficult to win. Vancouver is having a great season with old friends Rick Tocchet and Jim Rutherford. The Penguins are on the bubble of making the playoffs and don't seem to have upwards momentum to be like the Florida Panthers of last season. The power play is unbelievably bad.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got royally embarrassed by the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night and Hunter and Pat bring their A-game for today's episode. They start the show by eviscerating the team and going in on them for this performance. They look at how the team showed no effort outside of 2-3 players and how this "response" showed a lot about who they are after they blew the game against the Golden Knights. They also look at what direction the team is headed in and whether Kyle Dubas has his answer right now. After that, they discuss the own goal and how they both laughed and cried about it (not really on the crying part). They crush Letang for his mistake by the net and also go a little bit at Geno for how he handled the puck. Finally, they discuss how some shakeup is needed and how this team can somehow bounce back for the final two games before the All-Star Break. The Penguins scored a goal... on their own net. Kris Letang passed the puck back to Evgeni Malkin during a delayed penalty with Tristan Jarry to the bench for the extra attacker. Letang's puck went off Malkin's stick and into the net to make it a two-goal deficit. The own goal was terrible. We discuss the position the Pens have put themselves in. They're not going to trade Malkin or Letang. Erik Karlsson was supposed to be the new piece that fixed things.

Hour 1 with Dorin Dickerson: The Pirates have made a major splash in free agency. According to multiple reports, the Pirates signed left-handed reliever Aroldis Chapman to a 1-year, $10.5 million deal. Remember when Chapman hit McCutchen in the back while on the Reds in 2012? McCutchen and Chapman played together on the Yankees in 2018. It will be ok. Austin likes the signing and thinks it needs to be the tip of the iceberg.  More moves need to follow this, especially in the rotation. Bechtold baseball breakdown. The Pirates bullpen is deep, but what comes next? The Bucs need to add starting pitching to have a well-rounded staff. The Johan Oviedo and Endy Rodriguez injuries hurt, but you are going into spring knowing they aren't playing. There shouldn't be any issue between Chapman and Cutch. The move makes the team better and why people should be excited. Do the Pirates have the brighter future than the Steelers and Penguins? Austin thinks the Pirates over the next few years have better results coming than the Penguins. Dorin believes it's one of the most frustrating times in Pittsburgh sports in a long time.

We move on to the 2nd round, where we go over Yzerman's 3 picks (& a trade back), first, goaltender Trey Augustine out of the USNTDP (40:55), big, right-handed defenseman Andrew Gibson (47:55), and an even bigger, hard-hitting left-handed defenseman in Brady Cleveland, which leads to a passionate discussion on draft strategy, upside, & Detroit's lack of scoring talent (54:55). After that, Detroit drafts brother of Liam Dower Nilsson (2021 Red Wings pick), Noah Dower Nilsson, to start the 3rd round, adding scoring talent (1:04:55).
