After a Philadelphia Business Journal story left some doubt about the future of Temple football, Temple President John Fry said the university wants to ‘honor and reinvigorate' the program as it looks for its next head coach. We talked about where that search stands and if the Owls can close out the season with a win over North Texas. And on his way out as Everett Withers enters his last game as Temple's interim head coach, the longtime college football veteran did not hold back on his assessment of today's game and what Temple must do to keep up with it. “I hope this administration hears the need for finances to keep good players on this football team,” Withers said Monday during his weekly availability as Temple's interim head coach. You'll hear audio from that interview and more about Temple basketball. Adam Fisher's Owls will see familiar faces in Fran Dunphy and Jahlil White up at La Salle Saturday, with the winner moving on to play St. Joe's for the Big 5 Classic championship. The school expressed their sorrow, noting Bryant's contributions as a player from 1973-75 and as a coach from 1993-96. Joe Bryant, selected 14th in the 1975 NBA draft by Golden State, played for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and Houston Rockets, averaging 8.7 points over 606 games. This week's episode of The Scoop recaps a mixed bag week in the world of Temple sports. One day after E.J. Warner dealt the Temple football program a blow by entering the NCAA's transfer portal, Adam Fisher's men's basketball team outlasted La Salle and former Owls coach Fran Dunphy in triple overtime at the Liacouras Center to advance to Saturday's inaugural Big 5 Classic championship game, which will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center. We talked about how Warner's departure affects the Owls, dissected the craziness of Temple's triple-overtime win, and got a detailed look at the Saint Joe's team the Owls will face Saturday night and a great conversation about Big 5 hoops with Philadelphia Inquirer reporter and Temple graduate Jeff Neiburg.
Fran Dunphy gets his 600th win! The Boyz talk about the Duke road trip and review the Explorers' performance thus far. We also discuss the two big games coming up: at Temple and “The Big 5 Classic”

Jason and Donald sit down to discuss Flip's near-injury, Scheyer's first technical, Mitchell dominating in the paint, and McCain grabbing boards and raining threes. After talking about all the good and bad from this game, the DBR Podcast crew dives into the next opponent in the Blue Devil Challenge, La Salle. The Explorers have some interesting players and are coached by a college basketball legend, Fran Dunphy. (00:00-11:12) Today is Opening Day for the Phillies but the topic of conversation to start The Mike Missanelli Show is the Sixers loss to the Raptors last night. Matisse Thybulles absence was known. The Sixers could not close out and one of the biggest reasons according to Mike is that the Sixers are thin. They don't have enough depth to overcome what an elite defender can provide. Harden also needs to play better. Assists are great but he also needs to score. There is some worry about what the Sixers can do in the playoffs. Tyrone and Jen weigh in with their thoughts. (11:23-1:17:19) Jen introduces today's Twitter poll. If the Sixers face the Raptors in the 1st round of the playoffs, what will be the outcome? Your options are simple. They will win or they will lose. The crew gives their opinion then Mike heads to the phone to hear what you have to say. (1:17:30-1:24:17) Jen dives into some interesting stories outside the world of sports on “What's Brewin' with Jen” to Cracker Jill is joining the iconic snack Cracker Jack and Colorado is banning Mike Tysons gummy ears. (1:32:43-1:41:57) La Salle Men's Basketball Head Coach Fran Dunphy joins the show to discuss his decision to take the La Salle job, Big 5 basketball, and also give his thoughts on James Harden. (1:24:27-2:07:24) Eagles legend and member of The Fanatic family Brian Westbrook joins the show for the entire 4 PM hour. He talks Sixers basketball, discusses Big 5 basketball with Fran Dunphy, makes his preferred pick of the week, and more. (2:07:35-2:39:35) The rest of the show belongs to you, the FANatic!
