Join us for our Bible Study as we continue our series on Healing! We will be looking at how Jesus regularly taught His disciples to use His Name when casting out demons or laying hands on the sick. Peter told the crippled man at the Gate Beautiful, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). He then explained the miracle saying, “His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know” (Acts 3:16). Christ has commissioned us to be agents of healing and has given us His authoritative name to use as we minister!
Join us as we continue our journey on the subject of healing. We will be diving into the role 'faith' plays in healing throughout the Scriptures. Especially looking at the story of the woman with the issue of blood, the boy who would throw himself into water and fire, and the lame man at the Gate Beautiful. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith and He wants us to trust Him in even the most seemingly impossible situations!
The unknown neighbors, the crippled man from birth, and John and Peter . . . the lessons we can learn and questions to ask ourselves this season when we consider these characters within Acts 3:1-8.Acts 3:1-8 (MSG)One day at three o'clock in the afternoon, Peter and John were on their way into the Temple for prayer meeting. At the same time there was a man crippled from birth being carried up. Every day he was set down at the Temple gate, the one named Beautiful, to beg from those going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter the Temple, he asked for a handout. Peter, with John at his side, looked him straight in the eye and said, “Look here.” He looked up, expecting to get something from them.6-8 Peter said, “I don't have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!” He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked.8-10 The man went into the Temple with them, walking back and forth, dancing and praising God. Everybody there saw him walking around and praising God. They recognized him as the one who sat begging at the Temple's Gate Beautiful and rubbed their eyes, astonished, scarcely believing what they were seeing.

It is Monday morning, 20th June 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And then they realised that they had been with Jesus.”Acts 4:13There is no substitute for being with the Lord. You can go to Bible College and learn to quote the Bible off by heart, but that won't make any difference - even a parrot can do that. What caused the religious leaders of Israel to marvel at the apostles? It was their boldness. They realised that these men had actually been with Jesus. You see, you can learn all the theory but that means nothing, action always speaks louder than words. The chief priests and the Elders of the church could not heal the lame man sitting at the Gate Beautiful outside the temple, but Peter and John did. They did it in faith and in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That is what caused the leaders of Israel to marvel.One of my favourite scriptures in the Bible is Colossians 1:27 which says it is Christ in us, the hope of glory. It is not us - It is Christ in us. You and I need to spend more time in the presence of the Lord, not running to and fro, all over the place, trying to get counsel from people. When I was a young farmer, I would see an expert come from the university to tell the farmers how to do certain things. They only knew the theory but not the practical. For example, they could not start the tractor. The students were waiting for him to start it but he didn't realise there's a safety device and until you put the tractor into neutral, you can't start the engine. We need to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in.We need to get to know Jesus personally and then go out and do exactly what He did. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

There was a day that Peter and John went to the temple at the third hour, which was the hour of prayer and sacrifice. As they were walking there was a certain man lame from his mother's womb laying there. He spent all of his life being carried to the Gate Beautiful where he begged for a living every day. As Peter and John walked by that man looked up to them as if to receive something from them. Then Peter fastened his eyes on him, and John said, "Look on us." That was the moment the power of the Holy Spirit was moving. "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." Can't you just see all the people stopping and watching what was happening? These people were well acquainted with the lame man. They must have been stunned to hear these words spoken to him. What is more, the name of Jesus Christ, which was a name most of the people opposed. I believe that these two men Peter and John were men who were ever looking to Jesus. Their eyes always fastened on Him. Therefore were they able to say "look on us." They were ready-men who were alive in Christ. That lame man was taken by his right hand and arose, then leaped up, walked, and followed them into the temple. No one ever went into the temple that way, but this man did. It was also said of him that "he held them, and "all the people saw him walking and leaping and praising God." This is such a depiction of true service and discipleship in the Lord. If you fasten your eyes on the Lord then you will be always ready in a moment to fasten them on the person Jesus sees in your day to day life. If you do not fasten your eyes on the Lord, then do not expect to be much use to Him. You will only be a little trickle of water in the dry cups of the thirsty, rather than a life-giving stream of His loving mercy flooding upon their dry grounds. “Does it make sense to pray for guidance about the future if we are not obeying in the thing that lies before us today? An event happened at the Gate Beautiful that was even more beautiful than its setting. A 40-year-old crippled man was healed. The religious leaders overlooked the miracle because Peter and John's message of Jesus and His resurrection didn't fit in their neat little religious box. They were distraught! 7They had Peter and John brought in and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?” 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people! 9If we are being examined today about a kind service to a man who was lame, to determine how he was healed, 10then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11This Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.' 12Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Peter and John knew the inherent power that is in the name of Jesus! They had seen Jesus' miracles! They understood that while they had no power to heal, Jesus does. They understood that they had been delegated authority as children of God, to use the name of Jesus. And when they used the name of Jesus a man that had never walked was healed. The 7 sons of Sceva tried to use the name, but they were not believers, so it back-fired on them. Jesus still heals. There is power in His name. Jesus still saves and delivers. Everything Jesus was His name still is. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Prayer in the Early ChurchWhen you get to the place where you can get serious with God…when you get the place that you don't care who sees you, hears you praying or hears about you praying – THEN you will begin to see the results. Amen! We've been studying the past few days about God shaking the places the disciples were praying from. Prisons, rooms with other believers, etc. But I want to look at what actually caused Peter and John to get in trouble in the first place. In Acts chapter 3, verses 6-8, you can read the story about how they healed, in the Name of Jesus, the crippled man at the Gate Beautiful. And how this was done openly, publicly and word spread quickly that this notable healing had occurred. This word soon got back to the Pharisees who sent the Temple Guard to bring Peter and John in for questioning. They wanted to beat them and lock them up…but someone reported this news had already spread all over town. It could not be swept under the rug or denied. So, they decided to threaten Peter and John before they let them go. This happens in our society today. If you preach against homosexuality or transgenderism or anything the left says is normal but the Bible calls an abomination – you will be threatened… I was preaching up in Canada a few years back and was told by the pastor, “Please don't say anything about the gays. The government will shut down our church.” This cancel culture syndrome is now in the United States – especially with this administration that is running the show now. Anyway – we are here to talk about prayer and the power of prayer, amen! We covered yesterday Peter's reply from verses 19 & 20 about “whether it is right in the sight of God to obey you or Him, you decide, but we are going to keep on preaching…” Glory to God (that was my paraphrase, by the way). We also covered how they went back to their own church members and reported what had happened and then they all prayed TOGETHER, verbally and in one accord and how God shook the building they were in… He did not send an earthquake to the area. He did not shake other buildings. He did not destroy anything. He simply shook the building and answered their prayer for BOLDNESS. Amen! That's what they asked for in verse 29 – BOLDNESS as they were determined to keep on preaching and teaching, despite the threats. Amen! In verse 31, we see God immediately answering their prayers with a confirming sign! The shaking and the filling with the Holy Spirit to have a spirit of BOLDNESS! The exact thing the Pharisees did not want to happen is the thing that did happen! They told two disciples to shut up and go home… Those two told their friends and they all started to pray that ALL of them would receive BOLDNESS to preach the Gospel – and God granted their request and answered their prayers. Now, instead of two bold disciples of Jesus – there was a whole ROOM FULL of disciples hitting the streets, declaring the Name and Power of the Name of Jesus and healing all sorts of manner of diseases – all in the face of the Pharisees! Glory to God! Don't shout me down when I'm preaching good! Amen! We will pick it up there again tomorrow. I want to pray for you to receive that kind of BOLDNESS in the Name of Jesus! Amen! Luke writes to us in Acts Chapters 3 and 4 about an incredible miracle that came to a man born lame, from all the signs and wonders this miracle is the first one detailed in Acts. This lame man was bound in customs, duties and religion for over 40years and then he is met at the Gate Beautiful by faith and intimacy in the form of the Apostles Peter and John and the Power of Jesus of Nazareth.
Today we will focus on a miracle that happened when Peter and John were going about their business on day. This entire section from chapter 2 to 5 focuses on the events that took place in Jerusalem. And in Jerusalem it is always Peter who is the center of the action. In the later part of Acts when the action moves beyond Jerusalem, you will find that it is Apostle Paul who is at the center of the action. But whether it be Peter or Paul or anybody else, these narratives are laid out to show the reader how closely linked these miracles and teachings were to what Jesus himself did and taught. The only difference between Jesus and his Apostles you will find is that while Jesus did miracles under his own authority or the authority of His Heavenly Father, the apostles did their work in the power of Jesus' name.
From the very beginning God wanted a temple to dwell in; we are His temple where he desires to dwell. This thought should challenge us how we live for Him. In Acts Chapter 3 , Peter and John are going to the temple and are at the gate 'Beautiful' where they see a beggar whom they heal through the power of Jesus. They acted in faith and obedience to the work of God. So in reflection to how the early church functioned and was led by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Craig challenges us through the following questions: 1. Do you allow the Holy Spirit to use you? 2. Do you believe God can do signs, wonders and miracles?

Hello, and welcome to Lechem Panim. In recent weeks we have been discussing Acts chapter 4; a marvelous chapter in which Peter and John heal a crippled beggar outside of the Temple in Jerusalem. And everyone is captivated and eager to learn from them the means by which this man was healed; and so Peter and John explain that it is by the power of Jesus that this man was healed. And that prompts a very negative reaction from the religious leaders, who seize Peter and John, hold them for the night, and them make them stand on trial before the Sanhedrin, the very council that was responsible for condemning their Rabbi (Jesus) to death not long before this. And they pointedly ask/demand of them the answer to a question, which is given to us in verse 7. It says… Acts 4:7 (ESV)— 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” By God or Satan?— And the reason they ask this is because they don't know if this is a miracle done by an evil power or a good one. If it was as work of God or a work of Satan. And (when you think about that) don't you find that rather sad? I mean to think that these guys are the spiritual leaders of Israel; and yet apparently they have become so spiritually blind that they cannot even distinguish between a miracle of God and a miracle of Satan. Having noted that Peter and John had been with Jesus (which we see in verse 13), they should have been able to recognize that this was the same power and authority that Jesus had Himself demonstrated throughout the course of His ministry. And Jesus did things that only God could do (or someone working for God), so they should have recognized that this miracle as also having come from God. But, having been blind to the source of Jesus' miracles (often willingly), it is no surprise they are here blind to the source of Peter's and John's as well. But Peter declares it boldly. It says in… Acts 4:8-12 (ESV)— 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, 9 if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Peter's Hutzpah— Now in studying this passage, I was amazed at the Hutzpah here of Peter. I mean Peter had not long before this (out of fear) denied three times that he even knew Jesus. And yet here (before the very council that condemned Jesus; the chief leaders of whom were Sadducees and therefore denied that there even is a resurrection and an afterlife) Peter was willing to respectfully yet forcefully declare their guilt in having killed the Messiah and to declare (basically) that their whole theology about the resurrection was wrong and that Jesus (the One they crucified) has not only been raised, but is their only Way of salvation. And it is clear from verse 8 that this boldness and fearlessness came directly from the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit who wrought the greatest transformation in Peter and was now empowering His messages. And you know, if we are to have that same boldness, it doesn't matter how many speaking seminars or witnessing books we read; what is going to give our message authority and power is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the One who gives us understanding and who moves in the hearts of those we are witnessing to, bringing conviction and (hopefully) change. Peter's War Cry— Now the members of the Sanhedrin (like many in the crowd) had no doubt seen this crippled man many times. They had no doubt even given him alms or perhaps even piously prayed for or even over him. He was a common fixture there at the temple Gate Beautiful. But now (apparently) he's right there in the courtroom with Peter and John (as verse 10 seems to indicate); a living testimony so to speak. You might say Peter and John's testimony stood. And Peter declares that it is through the power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom they crucified and whom God raised from the dead that this man is standing before them (v.10). And considering what their beliefs were and what they had done to Jesus only a short time before this, just think about how these words must have pierced and convicted the hearts of these Jewish leaders. They had thought that when they killed Jesus, they were finished hearing about this small-time prophet from the back hills of nowhere (which is what Nazareth was). But now two of His disciples are standing before them in all the might and power of their Rabbi Jesus, declaring to them (and all the people) that Jesus is alive! I mean, these guys (the Sadducees) reject the resurrection. And so on two fronts Peter's declaration must have sounded to them like a declaration of war! “You killed the Messiah, but then God raised Him.” And in saying this, Peter is also implying that they had set themselves against God Himself. The Rejected Rock— Now after this Peter (as he always does) starts quoting the Old Testament, this time from Psalm 118:2 when he says This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. (v.11) And this is a messianic reference, one which Jesus Himself quoted in Matthew 21:42 (and which Peter uses again later in 1 Peter 2:4-8). And [They knew that the “Rock” was a symbol of God {Himself} (Deut. 32:4, 15, 18, 31; 2 Sam. 22:2; Ps. 18:2; Isa. 28:16), and that the prophet Daniel had used the rock to picture the Messiah and the coming of His kingdom on earth (Dan. 2:31–45).] And so Peter is using imagery that they were familiar with; and he interprets the Psalm for them. They (the members of the council) were “the builders” and Jesus (the Son of God) was God's Stone that they had rejected. They had stumbled over the Rock (Rom. 9:32; 1 Cor. 1:23) and rejected Him, just as Psalm 118:22 had predicted. And yet that rock (for those who have trusted in Him; in Jesus) that rock has become the chief Cornerstone (1 Peter 2:4–8, Eph. 2:20); the very source of Salvation itself (as Peter declares in verse 12). A “WHOLE” Salvation— And this healing of the beggar was a picture of that, which Peter indicates. He says in verse 9 that the man was “made whole”, which in Greek is the word σῴζω (literally meaning “saved”) which is the foundation for the word he uses for salvation in verse 12 (σωτηρία). And this is very Jewish, because the Jews saw a [human being as a psychosomatic unity, an indivisible amalgam of body and soul in which if either goes wrong, the other is affected.] This is why [the Greek verb sozo was used in Jesus' day to mean both ""to save"" and ""to heal,"" and soter could signify either ""savior"" or “”physician.""] And that fits Jesus so perfectly. He is our Savior and our Great Physician. And as such, He and He alone can heal mankind of its greatest disease, the sickness of sin (Mark 2:14–17), which Peter highlights when he says in verse 12: 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” And you'll remember Jesus' own words in… John 14:6 (ESV)— 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The Life— Jesus is Life itself; He's not just living or life-giving. No, He is the source of all life; He is Life. And therefore there can't be salvation in anyone else. To choose Jesus is to choose life. To reject Jesus is to reject life. It's that simple. And Peter is very clear on this, which is why he says in verse 12: there is salvation in no one else, Acts 4:13-14 (ESV)— 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. 14 But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition. It's A Trap!!!— You see, they recognized that they were “trapped.” Either way they approach this, they lose. They couldn't deny the miracle (which would be tough to do with the man standing right there in front of them; a man everyone knew had been lame since birth; whose legs and even his mental capacity to walk had never developed; and therefore could not be healed any other way). Neither could they explain how these (the text says) “uneducated, common men” could perform such a miracle. They weren't mighty Rabbis (at least by the standards of the Sadducees) and certainly didn't have the backing of the Jewish authorities as ministers and scribes. They were simple fishermen from an unholy place (Galilee; known as Galilee of the Gentiles) whose only qualification on their resume was that they had been with Jesus. Now the council could say that the miracle they performed was powered by Satan, but the problem is that false prophets and workers of demonic miracles always seek to undermine the Word of God, something that Peter and John were clearly not doing. In both sermons that Peter has preached, we find Peter preaching straight from the Word of God (in context), using the Old Testament [to support and explain his claims, {which}… is one evidence of a true prophet of God (Deut. 13:1–5; Isa. 8:20).] He is standing on, not undermining the Old Testament. And the Sanhedrin doesn't know what to do. The miracle, coupled with what Peter and John were saying, was clear [evidence that Jesus Christ was alive and at work in the church by His Holy Spirit.] And yet (as we will continue to see as we proceed) these Jewish leaders continue to choose to look away; away from the sign; away from the evidence; even a piece of evidence that could not only speak, but stood (literally) in their presence, bearing testimony to them of Jesus. The Mundane Miracles— You know, the thing that bothers me the most about both myself and our culture is how completely oblivious we so often are to the magnificent power of God moving in our midst. There is so much we take for granted. And some intentionally look away for the same reason the Sanhedrin looked away. Others are like me; we have just become so desensitized to the mundane, everyday miracles. I was reading in bed with my kids the other night a devotional book; and in that devotional book the author was talking about the development of the eye in an unborn child and how the optic nerve slowly moves from the eye towards the brain while at the same time the optic nerve is growing from the brain towards the eye. And the end of each of those nerves growing towards one another contains 2 million connection points, all of which have to match up perfectly. And when the two ends of that optic nerve meet, all the connections somehow manage to find their way to each other. It's funny, I was taking a parishioner to his eye appointment this past week. And I told him this. And he and I sort of laughed together. We just thought that it is so funny how often we complain when things go bad, never realizing the miracle in their ever having worked at all. What evidence is there of the presence of Jesus in your life? Are you overlooking the miracles He has worked in and through you? Maybe this year, the challenge we can take from this passage is simply to look; to truly see and acknowledge what God has done for us, even in the mundane everyday miracles that you and I take for granted. Because if we can do that, I think we will recapture the awe of what it means to know in Jesus the One who is both our Creator and (as with this man) also our Re-Creator as well. Let's commit to look. Amen.
COME WALK THROUGH THE BEAUTIFUL GATE Today’s readings are Nehemiah 11-12, Psalm 1, and Acts 3. We are reading through the New Living Translation. Peter says, I’ll give you what I have. (Acts 3:6 NLT). What is it that Peter has, that this man, lame from birth, needs? The lame man expects so little but he’s going to get far more than he ever thought. Luke tells us that Peter shares his faith in the One who forgives sins. Peter demonstrates his faith in the One who sees our inability to walk beyond the Beautiful gate, into God’s life. Over and over the lame man has been placed at the Beautiful Gate, but he is never able to enter beyond, into that temple area – that place where God and Life is. Instead, he sits outside the gate and waits, and begs, and expects so little. And then Peter arrives – but it’s not just Peter who is there, but Christ in Peter. And Jesus, through Peter, sees the man – this man who is about to go beyond the gate Beautiful, and into Life. Peter looks at him and says, I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” (Acts 3:6 NLT) We’re told that as Peter helped him up, his muscles in his ankles and his legs were restored and he got up and leapt and danced and sang out praises to God. He went through the gate and into the Temple. He was standing upright – made new. His friends couldn’t get him through the gate. Moses and the Prophets couldn’t either. Peter seizes this opportunity to speak to the crowd of onlookers. He urges them not to look at him and John. He tells the crowds, And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? (Acts 3:12 NLT). He wants them to know that it was done through the power of the resurrected Christ, the Messiah. Jesus is the one that made the lame man walk and He’s the one that takes us beyond the gate Beautiful and into Life. He’s the only one who can do that for all of us who are stuck at the gate. Moses and the Prophets couldn’t do it. They were just pointing to the One who would come – the one who would speak his Life into us. He alone can restore us so that we can walk upright, and enter into the presence of God, leaping, shouting and praising God for the Life he alone gives. There’s only one Person that can take us beyond the Gate Beautiful and into Life. That is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He comes to each and every one one of us today – to those areas in our life where we fail to stand. He comes and sees us, and speaks his life into us, inviting us to stand up and walk with him into the Temple. His Presence is a place of life, where we are made new. Let the abiding life of Christ lift you up and take you beyond the gates and into Life.

Why would Peter and John go to a defunct temple after God dismantled the whole system? Because there were people there.
For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." Romans 10:13 NKJV This morning as I read these words in Romans 10:13 I started thinking about when I was walking past Harry's Cafe de Wheels in Woolloomoolloo, Sydney, and I called on the name of the LORD. That was the day when I really started to live. In taking that step of faith, over twenty years ago, to believe there was a God who loved me and wanted to have a relationship with me, my life instantly had the meaning that I had been craving for. I felt a peace that I had not felt before. I knew I my heart had found home. Scripture reassures us, "No one who trusts God like this - heart and soul - will ever regret it." It's exactly the same no matter what a person's religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. "Everyone who calls, 'Help, God!' gets help. Romans 10:11-13 The Message I have not had one regret in asking Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour. There has only been an ever-growing gratefulness for His love and mercy in my life, combined with a peace of knowing that I don't have to strive anymore. I know the truth. I know there is a God is heaven who speaks to me every day through scripture, through promptings of the Holy Spirit, through people and through His creation. I know there is a Jesus who understands suffering and pain, and who made a way in His own suffering and pain for me to have that intimate relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know there is a heaven, and that by the grace of God that's where I am going, one day, for eternity. I know that today, while I am still here on earth, I am not forsaken, not for a second. And neither are you. God, your wrap-around presence is our defense. In your kindness look upon the faces of your anointed ones. For just one day of intimacy with you is like a thousand days of joy rolled into one! I'd rather stand at the threshold in front of the Gate Beautiful, ready to go in and worship my God, than to live my life without you in the most beautiful place of the wicked. For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all! O Lord of Heaven's Armies, what euphoria fills those who forever trust in you! Psalm 84:9-12 The Passion Translation Heavenly Father, thank you that your wrap-around presence is our defense. Thank you that you loved us enough to give us a way to come back into right standing with you. Thank you Jesus for making that way. Thank you that there are no regrets in living life your way. Trying to live the Christian life in the flesh is exhausting and, quite honestly, impossible. But that's how many believers live today. They start out well, full of hope and empowered by the Spirit, and then digress into a life of flesh, pride, and reliance on human wisdom rather than the wisdom of God. But the early church shows us the "abundant life" Jesus promised those who follow Him fleshed out in real time (John 10:10). And it's all based on faith. Look at the faith involved in the healing of the lame man at the Gate Beautiful. Question: Whose faith is the agent God uses to perform this sign and wonder? Acts 3:6-7 - Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. Note what happened here. Peter had something that he was able to give to the lame beggar. What was that? And how did Peter know he possessed whatever he possessed? And the healing took place, not when Peter spoke the affirmation, but when he "took him by the right hand and lifted him up" (Acts 3:7). That's faith. But whose? The beggar's? Not really. It was the faith of Peter. What does this mean? And what can we learn about exercising our Spiritual gifts in the world today? Want to know more? Then keep listening. The secret is to be the 'people of the gate' - standing equally between the prayer room of the temple, with an obvious need for God, and the mission place of the street, where God's servant must believe they have everything they need!
