Send us a textThe final week before Easter offers us a sacred opportunity to draw closer to Jesus Christ by reflecting on the deliberate steps he took toward his sacrifice and resurrection. While many rush to Easter Sunday's celebration, this episode explores the profound significance of each day leading up to Christianity's most pivotal moment.Beginning with Palm Sunday's triumphant entry into Jerusalem where crowds shouted "Hosanna" and spread palm branches before Jesus, we journey through each meaningful day. On Holy Monday, Jesus cleansed the temple and cursed the barren fig tree—symbolic actions revealing his divine authority and the need for genuine spiritual fruit. Holy Tuesday brought confrontations with religious leaders trying to trap Jesus, while Spy Wednesday marked Judas's fateful decision to betray his master for thirty pieces of silver. The Last Supper on Maundy Thursday gave us both communion and Christ's new commandment to "love one another as I have loved you."Every moment of Holy Week serves as another facet of the same diamond—unique, pure, and revealing the character of our Saviour. These eight days shifted humanity's relationship with God forever, establishing a new covenant through Jesus' perfect sacrifice. By understanding the biblical context and prophecies fulfilled during this week, believers gain a richer appreciation for Easter itself. The resurrection isn't merely a standalone event but the triumphant culmination of a deliberate journey of love. As you move through the days before Easter, consider reading the suggested scripture passages to experience the full weight and wonder of what Jesus accomplished for us all.Reflect on each day's significance this week, from Palm Sunday through Maundy Thursday, preparing your heart for Good Friday and Easter. How might drawing closer to these events transform your understanding of Christ's love and sacrifice?Good morning, good afternoon, wherever you are in the world - Welcome to Grapevine Ministries. From Weakness to Grace: The Gift of Repentance and Drawing Closer to God The readings emphasize the beauty of repentance . . . . . . and the opportunity to grow closer to God, especially during the Lenten season. It highlights how prayer, charity, and self-reflection help bridge the gap between humanity and God. The closer we draw to God, the more we recognize our weaknesses and our need for His grace. The Parable of the Prodigal Son The Gospel Reading reflects on God's patience, contrasting it with human impatience. It uses biblical narratives, such as the Israelites' journey to the Promised Land and the parable of the prodigal son, to illustrate God's mercy and unwavering love. Jesus, like Joshua, leads believers to a greater Promised Land—God's kingdom. Despite human failings, God eagerly awaits our return, offering grace and reconciliation. The Homily urges believers not to take God's patience for granted but to respond to His mercy by seeking Him earnestly. Listen to this Meditation Media. All your relationships—with your spouse, family, and friends—are important but temporary. Your only eternal relationship is with God.The bonds of family and friends help us thrive in this world, but they pale in comparison to the significance of our relationship with the Lord. Today, I'll share some practical ways you can draw closer to God.Connecting Faith and Finances: Why Your Relationship with God Affects Your MoneyYou might wonder, "What does my relationship with God have to do with finances?" After all, this is a blog about money, right? Yes, but it's also about faith. For Christians, faith and finances are deeply intertwined, and the Bible provides three key principles that connect the dots between the two.Principle 1: God Owns EverythingThe first principle is foundational: God created everything, and therefore, He owns everything. Colossians 1:16 makes this clear: “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” This means that everything we possess is ultimately God's, not ours.Principle 2: God Has Entrusted Us with ResourcesThe second principle is that God has given us everything we possess. James 1:17 says:“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” While God owns everything, He has entrusted us with resources to use temporarily as His stewards.Principle 3: God Desires a Close Relationship with UsThe third principle is that God is not distant or detached—He desires a close relationship with each of us. James 4:8 says: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” We draw near to God by obediently following His Word. With over 2,300 verses about money and possessions in Scripture, God has made it clear that He wants us to manage money according to His principles. The Spiritual Impact of Money ManagementIn Luke 16:11, Jesus indicates that God uses money as a test: “If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?” Jesus is saying that how you handle money affects your spiritual life. When you manage it well—according to biblical principles—you naturally grow closer to Christ. But if you don't, your fellowship with the Lord suffers.Obstacles to Financial FaithfulnessBiblical money management is a practical way to improve your spiritual life, but obstacles can get in the way. Two types of disobedience can prevent us from handling money God's way and growing closer to Him.Passive Disobedience: This is simply laziness. Some people don't want to take the time to organize their finances, create a budget, or track their spending. While these tasks might only take a few hours a month, it's often too much to bother with. Sadly, the same person might spend more time than that watching TV every night, and as a result, their intimacy with God suffers.Active Disobedience: For others, money and possessions actively compete with Christ. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Some people believe they can surrender every part of their lives to Christ except for their finances. They might excel at making money, paying bills, saving, and investing, but they refuse to give Christ lordship over their finances. This resistance often centers around tithing or giving to God's Kingdom, leading to a weakened relationship with Christ. Finally, there are those who don't follow biblical financial principles yet believe their relationship with the Lord is just fine. To them, we might say, “What you don't know will hurt you. What are you missing out on?” If that's you, commit to the Lord in earnest prayer and follow through by managing your money and possessions according to His principles.Take the Next StepIf you're ready to align your finances with your faith, start by downloading the free FaithFi app. It will help you set up a budget based on the envelope system and provide you with the best Christian financial content to grow closer to God. Commit to following His financial principles for three months and see if your relationship with the Lord becomes more intimate.Aligning your finances with God's Word is not just about managing money; it's about deepening your relationship with Christ. By faithfully stewarding the resources God has given you, you'll experience the true riches of a closer walk with Him.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:My kids are buying their first home, and I've offered to help them with the closing costs. Is giving them a loan or a gift better? What are the tax implications of each option?I just retired about three weeks ago, and I have a mortgage balance left on my house of about $26,000 with a 15-year term. We've been making extra payments, so we could pay it off in the next three years by continuing our regular payments. I have enough money in a Roth IRA to pay off the $26,000 mortgage. Should I keep the money in the Roth IRA or use it to pay off the mortgage? My daughter was in the hospital and had surgeries. The hospital pressured her to pay, so she paid the full balance with her credit card. Then she lost her job. Last week, we got a summons for her to appear in court because the credit card company is pursuing legal action. We just don't know what to do. Resources Mentioned:Rich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. It's Time To Draw Closer Psalm 51:7-12 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me - now let me rejoice. Don't keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Intro: Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. Drawing Closer, It's Time to Deal With Sin Psalm 51:1-4 Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 51:17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Drawing Closer, It's Time to Get Clean Psalm 51:7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. John 8:10-11 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?" "No, Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more." James 4:8-10 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. Colossians 3:5, 8 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don't be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behaviour, slander, and dirty language. Drawing Closer, It's Time to Get Back in the Presence Psalm 51:10-11 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit from me. Revelation 2:4-5 But I have this complaint against you. You don't love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don't repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches. Acts 3:19-20 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. Drawing Closer, It's Time to Get Your Joy Back Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Colossians 1:10-11 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strenthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy.

The Say Yes to Holiness podcast seeks to provide Food for the Head, Heart, Hands and Feet  to help inspire, encorage and accompany you on the journey towards holiness... In this episode, Christina Semmens discusses the importance of drawing closer to the Lord, particularly through the Eucharist. She shares the benefits and graces that come from receiving the Eucharist, such as comfort, strength, and enrichment. Christina also emphasizes the need to trust in God's plan and to use our gifts and talents to serve Him and others. She encourages listeners to have faith, hope, and perseverance, even in difficult times. The episode concludes with resolutions to ask for Mary's intercession, to avoid comparing oneself to others, and to look for the miraculous in everyday life. Takeaways Frequent reception of the Eucharist allows us to receive the graces and benefits that we need in various situations. In difficult times, God provides comfort, strength, and the weapons to fight against the challenges we face. We should trust in God's plan and have faith, hope, and perseverance, even when we don't understand His timing. Each person has unique gifts and talents that should be used to serve God and others. Instead of comparing ourselves to others, we should focus on fulfilling our personal mission and being who God created us to be. We should seek Mary's intercession and ask for her help in growing in faith and enduring through struggles. It is important to recognize and appreciate the miraculous ways in which God cares for us in our daily lives. Sound Bites "Drawing close to our Lord, particularly in the Eucharist." "Let us open the door of His sacred and adorable heart and be wrapped about for an instant by the flames of His love." I started to get promptings and I was like, 'I'm going to go read the Bible at the temple.' I still had no inclination of going back to the church. Zero. So why did that make sense to me? I don't know. But I went to the temple and parked in the parking lot and just read my Bible at five in the morning. There was one morning when I was just reading the Bible in the temple parking lot and had words in my mind that I knew weren't mine. It just said, 'you need to go to the temple.' And I was like, 'God, I hear you, but what other churches have temples? Because that's not the one that I want to go to.' But I was like, message received. Then it took some time, and I started to feel promptings that I should open the Book of Mormon. This was all in secret because I knew that Melissa wouldn't approve or that it would upset her. So I was reading the Book of Mormon and then at some point this really strong witness came that this was the church that I needed to be going to." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rte6B5TyT0 https://www.plantwhys.com/free-1-week-meal-guide

The conversation also differentiates between pornography addiction and sexual addiction. The role of group therapy in the recovery process is discussed, as well as the ongoing journey of recovery and the understanding of sin and God's love. This conversation explores the journey of recovery from addiction and the importance of faith in the process. The main theme is the goal of making Christ more and ourselves less, striving to be more like Christ every day. The conversation also emphasizes the need to let go of perfectionism and the pressure to be perfect in our walk with Christ. The three circles exercise is discussed as a tool for identifying triggers and creating boundaries. The importance of vulnerability and transparency in the church is highlighted, as well as the need for a culture of support and acceptance. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the cost of following Christ and the value of sharing testimonies for freedom and healing. The time has come for Israel to cross the Jordan river into the land of Canaan. Normally this would not be a great undertaking, until you consider the size of the Israeli army, and that it was flood season for the Jordan. There was no reasonable way to get the army across the river. That is, until God intervened. He had parted the water before, and He does so again in spectacular fashion. But that is just the setting of this narrative. There is something more going on here, just below the surface. Pun fully intended.

Drawing Closer to the Day of the Lord TS Wright As the world leans closer and closer to what is called the “End Times” war scenario, we see politicians of all shapes, sizes, colors and parties beginning to take sides and reveal their true hearts. We have Palestinian and Hamas supporters in Congress. We have Palestinian Hamas supporters in colleges. We have Palestinian and Hamas supporters protesting in the streets. We also see “some” Israeli supporters – but the liberal news agencies are not really covering them, their stories or discussing the reason Israel has the right to defend itself as a nation. Folks, if you balance out the per capita ratio of those murdered on October 7th, you will see why Israel is so adamant on destroying Hamas once and for all.  If the same ratio of casualties were here in the United States, I believe it would be something like 50,000 victims if it would have happened here. If that did happen here, do you think the United States would respond to the terrorist attacks? Do you think we would ignore the pleadings of the world in our response to destroy the elements that attacked us? We fought a 20 year war when terrorists killed 2600 people. Imagine what we would do if a people group came here and murdered 50K in one day… Today, our guest is TS Wright. He is coming back on to discuss what we are seeing, right now, and how it all relates to what the Bible says will be happening in the last days – just before Jesus returns.  Scott Wright is the author of the “God Centered Concept Journal” and has a unique insight into prophecy and the end times. I want to get right into our discussion today, so help me welcome back our good friend, Scott Wright. We have seen Israel continue to destroy Hamas buildings in Gaza, sometimes more than 400 air strikes per day. They have continued to prepare for the ground invasion of Gaza, but as of the time of this recording, have not done so. We have seen Qatar negotiate aid and also the release of a couple of the hostages. Can you give us an update on what you see happening in Israel right now (I know this changes almost on a daily basis – but as of the time of this recording – what do you see)? We see Iran and their proxies start to shoot at US troops in Iraq and the surrounding region. Yet, this administration has zero response thus far. Doesn't this just embolden Iran to escalate a bit more because they sense weakness in this president and an unwillingness to show strength because of the upcoming election? Pastor Bob shares about a war simulation he was part of back in the mid-1980's the involved Iran (and what the results showed – but using the technology back then – not today). What do you think is being set up in the Spirit realm that we are witnessing? As I stated, I know things change on a daily basis right now. I'd love to have you come back on in another week or so and we can discuss the most recent events as they unfold. Would you be willing to do that? Folks, these events Scott has been sharing with us today are not something that is new. These events have been building for decades but we are now witnessing – as Scott put it – a

Some thoughts on Season 1, a study of Spiritual Momentum. Now is the time we can learn. Now is the time we can turn again to Christ. Now is the time we can bless others and lift up the hands that hang down.Harnessing Spirituality. Is this what momentum looks like?Maybe there are some things that need untangling.  Maybe you are trying to navigate the wind.  Perhaps you have forgotten what momentum feels like.  That's what I love most about the Inklings Community.  The remembering.  The encouraging.  Every day better.  A hint of something more.  Around here we call it sprinkles.  Just a little bit of sweetness every day. I'm looking forward to this next six months.  A study on spiritual momentum, with a focus on how we spend our time each day. I'm so excited to spend Thursday mornings with you! There are so many good things ahead!
