POPULARITY
Our entire philosophy at Personal Mastery Training is built on one radical idea: In order to achieve mastery, we cannot simply get through challenges. We must strategically seek to get something from them. We understand the seasons of nature perfectly. Spring is for growth. Summer is for harvest. Autumn is for beautiful decay and letting go. But then there is the fourth season: Winter. Winter shows up in our personal lives, and it often leads us to panic. It's not always cold outside, but it is freezing inside. It's the season of unexpected layoffs, financial downturns, health setbacks, profound loss, or a nagging creative block. It is that time when the lights dim, the external noise goes quiet, and we are forced into deep introspection. My Personal Winter I'm sharing this with you not from a place of theory, but from the trenches. 2025 has been a season of deep winters for me. Earlier this year, I lost my son to cancer. Recently, I lost a dear friend and co-host of the Alliance, Dr. Charlie Cartwright. I am in the deep winter. But this pain has become my motivation to share the philosophy of the seasons—wisdom I learned from the modern-day philosopher Jim Rohn—so that we can navigate these dark times together. The "Summer Mode" Trap The primary source of suffering during winter comes from the narratives we cling to. We are culturally conditioned to believe we should always be in "Summer Mode." Thanks to social media and FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), we think we should always be growing, always achieving, and always producing a visible harvest. When winter hits, an unhelpful inner voice screams: "Why haven't I figured this out? Why am I not happy? I am failing because I have nothing to show." We try to manufacture a summer feeling. We fill our calendars and double down on external effort, even though our environment is screaming at us to stop. Winter is Not a Punishment; It's Preparation We have to accept the purpose of winter. It is not a punishment. It is a vital, non-negotiable phase of life. Think of a seed. It cannot grow until it is broken open in the dark, cold ground. The deep, transformative work of life happens in the dark. I love this wisdom: "We won't rise to the occasion when something happens; we will fall to the level of our preparation." My family and I are surviving this tragedy not because we are superhuman, but because previous winters prepared us. We are falling to our level of preparation. How to Navigate the Cold: Strategic Stillness If you are in a financial, mental, spiritual, or existential winter, how do you handle the stillness without falling into paralyzing stagnation? 1. Practice Essentialism Winter is the time to cut dead branches. In business, you consolidate resources. In life, you declutter. This season has forced me to become brutally non-negotiable about what I say "yes" to. Ask yourself: What foundational belief about myself is dying off so something stronger can take its place? 2. Turn Pain into Purpose Stagnation is avoidance. Productive stillness is intentionality. I could have gone "zero dark thirty" and hidden from the world after losing my son. Instead, we chose to turn pain into purpose. We raised $65,000 for a foundation in his name. We focused on helping others get healthy. The way I grieve is to be of service. 3. Set a Winter Intention Don't set a goal for an outcome (like "get a new job" or "be happy"). Set an intention for a skill. Example: "My intention is to learn how to sit with discomfort without seeking a destructive escape." The Power of Protective Habits In the summer, your habits are focused on output. In the winter, your habits must pivot to input and protection. Protect your time. Protect your energy. Prioritize rest. We have a toxic narrative that says, "I'm too busy to rest." You must replace that with: "Rest is my most productive activity right now." It is an act of proactive self-mastery. You are stocking your internal pantry for the coming spring. The Ultimate Gift of Winter If we leverage this season correctly, we gain two things we can never get from summer: Unshakable Resilience: Summer teaches you how to enjoy the harvest. Winter teaches you that you can survive when the field is barren. It teaches you that your worth is not tied to your productivity. Profound Self-Intimacy: In the quiet of winter, you finally hear your authentic voice. You stop worrying about who the world expects you to be and align with who you truly are. This Too Shall Pass It is always darkest before the dawn. If you are in the cold right now, know that the light will return. But don't just wait for it—utilize the dark. Let the pain change you. Let it be the incubator for your greatest future self. Don't just get through it. Get from it. To my son, and to Dr. Charlie Cartwright—one love. Peace, love, and a sprinkle of soul.

As we push through another year, most of us are juggling goals, deadlines, and plenty of to-dos. But what if the most meaningful addition to your plate this year doesn't cost a cent, and ends up being the most rewarding thing you do? In this quick, five-minute Pocket Sized Pep Talk, I'll share a lesson from my father, a lifelong Lion, about the kind of giving that goes beyond money. You'll hear why time, presence, and even the smallest acts of kindness can become the ultimate gift, both for others and for yourself.
Celebrating deprivation and hardship, or cowering with terror while awaiting punishment is not the Jewish way. Nope. Yom Kippur is all about communal prayer, annulment of vows and loads of opportunity to start fresh, recalibrate and soar. Pull Up a Chair 30SEPT2025 - PODCAST
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 As we wrap up our week of exploring gratitude and thanksgiving, we come to a profound realization: the ultimate gift that warrants our deepest thanks is the love and salvation offered through Jesus Christ. This day serves as a reminder to recognize this incredible blessing and to express our heartfelt appreciation for it. John 3:16 teaches that God's love offers eternal life to all who believe in His Son. Imagine, if you will, finding an ancient treasure chest brimming with priceless jewels, each representing love, joy, and peace. This treasure is akin to the salvation we receive — a divine gift that surpasses all earthly riches. Just as a treasure chest holds value beyond measure, our salvation offers us eternal life and unending love from our Creator. It's a gift that not only enriches our lives here on earth but also secures our place in eternity. Romans 5:8 says, "But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." From the story of the Crucifixion and Resurrection found in Matthew 27-28. We are reminded that the darkness of despair was transformed into the light of hope as Christ rose from the dead. Those who witnessed these events were forever changed, their sorrow replaced with uncontainable joy. Just like them, we too can experience a transformative change when we fully embrace the magnitude of what Christ has done for us. Gratitude for our salvation is akin to discovering that precious pearl — worth every sacrifice and every moment spent in reflection. “God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well,” said Voltaire, reminding us that how we live in response to this gift is vital. Matthew 13:45-46 says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." Prayer for the Day!Heavenly Father, thank You for the ultimate gift of love and salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to live each day in gratitude for this incredible blessing and to share that love with others. May our hearts overflow with appreciation, transforming our lives as we walk in Your light. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Brad Crowell 0:01 Fuck yeah. Lesley Logan 0:02 Get ready for some wins. Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:47 Hello, you guys. Happy Fuck Yeah Friday. Welcome. How are you? This is where we do a quick, quick episode celebrating your wins. You might, you might hear your win, and it's going to be later than you sent it, so it'll be a reminder of a win you had, and you get to hear a win of mine, and hopefully that helps you see that there's like, wins happening all the time, and then some inspiration and affirmation. Lesley Logan 1:06 So okay, so I saved this back when everyone was, like, up in a tizzy about the all those rich women who went to space, and of course, there were some people who went on there who are actual scientists and have done some amazing things in this world to, like, change things. So we don't discount that there were some epic things going on there, but I remember it happening around the same time that Sunita Williams came back from she was there for 286 days. Okay, so we're gonna talk about her. I'm just gonna read the actual thing. The actual post. This is from Female Quotient, and I'll put the link in the show notes. But she was supposed to go to space for like, eight days, and ended up there for nine months. And so I remember this happened. I'm like, what if she, like, parked and just like, long term parking. Like, you went away for eight days, so you have, like, what a dog set up for eight days, but now you're gone for nine months. Like, just, can you imagine all the things? Like, do you have? All the things you need? I'm just hopefully, I don't know if she has a cycle. I'm just, like, a little worried about that. Anyways. So meet and welcome home, obviously, she's been home for a bit, but let's just talk about her, because we need to, she did not get enough press, and we have to, let's do that, Be It babes together. Sunita Williams, record-breaking astronaut, pilot and trailblazer, who returned to Earth after 286 in space with fellow astronaut, Butch Wilmore. One of the most experienced spacewalkers in the world, she holds the record for the most spacewalks by a woman. Williams, originally from Ohio, was a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot who logged 3000 flight hours and 30 different aircrafts before becoming a NASA astronaut. Fast forward eight years, and she took her first space flight aboard the ISS. Her career accomplishments are out of this world and growing. Spent 608 plus days in space, ran the Boston Marathon in space on a treadmill, oh, my God, completed nine spacewalks totaling over 60 hours, was the first person to pilot a spacecraft using only touch screen controls., was the first woman to command the International Space Station twice, among the first astronauts chosen for NASA's Artemis missions, aiming to bring humans to the moon. More Fun Facts, during her most recent mission, because of her high speed, 28,000 kilometer per hour and low gravity, Sunita technically experienced time slower than us on Earth. She grew space lettuce, helping NASA study space food production, because the ISS orbits Earth every 90 minutes, she witnessed 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets per day. Oh, my God, so Sunita Williams shows us that strength, curiousity and resilience can really take you places. Sunita, thanks for being a badass. Thank you for your 286 days on, you know, up there and like, what an inconvenience. And also, like, for just like, I mean, not being scared to do, like, some crazy stuff, like, you're just, we need more. Like, that's the news I want to hear. Why didn't I hear that? Why do I have to hear about like, Katy Perry going to space like, I don't really care. Anyways, that's just me. Lesley Logan 3:48 Okay, now it's time for one of your wins. Heather Ingram. I had an opportunity to sub a bunch of hours at a studio this week, and had two new clients in my studio as well. I had some moments of awe at how more comfortable, confident and knowledgeable I am as an instructor, and I said to myself, self, you're a great instructor. Will there always be more to learn and apply? Absolutely. But after pursuing this passion the past seven years of teaching, I'm so much more confident, and I'm attracting a great client tribe, and I'm more in tune with listening to my gut and being in practice versus perfection with clients my self practice and my business. Thanks to all the communities in Agency, eLevate, OPC, I feel grateful to know what it feels like to be firing a little bit more on all cylinders, and some days will always just be hard, but everything feels a bit better. Plus, the sun has been out in Seattle for eight days straight, so maybe that's it, too. Heather Ingram, yes, girl, yes. Oh my God. I love it so much. I love it so much. I think that's like, a huge that's such a big win. I'm just going to leave it with one win from you all just because I just want to let that all sink in. Like, how many times have you been like, investing in learning, investing in growing, investing in time and energy and understanding something? And how many of those times you sit back and go, whoa. Look what I, look how far I've come. Like, how often have you looked in the rear view mirror, like, what a badass am I? I'm like, celebrate before you hit that next peak. Like, Heather, your win, I think truly is one of the biggest wins we could have. Like, I think sometimes we think, oh, I don't have a big win because I haven't been to space yet. But like, understanding, acknowledging and celebrating like that you're doing a badass job. That is, like, probably one of the biggest wins ever. And I'm so, so stoked for you. So thank you for sharing that. Lesley Logan 5:23 All right, now it's time for one of my wins. So, you guys, I'm currently in Los Angeles visiting friends, and that's my win. I'm about to go on a big tour, our summer tour, and you'll hear more about that in the future episodes. But I have had, like, I've tried many different things on, like, oh, let's do a vacation at the end of the tour. Let's try to do some days off in the tour. And we are doing that. But most of the people are like, oh, I couldn't go on vacation before something, because, like, I have that thing on my mind. Let me just tell you, yes, the tour is on my mind, and yes, there is promo happening about it. But also I like, gotta be honest, I'm so excited to take some well-rested spa time before I go on tour. So I'm going on a spa day with some girlfriends. I'm seeing some friends I haven't seen in a long time, because we don't go to go to L.A. as often as possible, as we used to, like, just seemed like things were easier when you couldn't travel anywhere else, but where you could drive. Like, we went to L.A. almost monthly. And so here we are, like, like, I don't know when the last time we were there, so I'm just super, super excited, and that's my win. So if you plan some time off for yourself, you need to pat yourself on the back. Give yourself a high five. You just had a win. Lesley Logan 6:28 All right. Affirmation, affirmation. Be good to yourself. Be good to yourself. Be good to yourself. Are you being good to yourself? Like, what? Yes, be good to yourself. You're a badass, you're amazing. And until next time, Be It Till You See It. Lesley Logan 6:46 That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. How is God's generosity meant to change us? In the Bible, God's gifts are intended to bring about transformation in our lives. This generosity challenges our natural tendencies toward selfishness, calling us to live in a community that freely shares and truly loves one another. What happens when humans misuse the gifts God gives them? From Eve's attitude toward the births of Cain and Seth, to the Tower of Babel, to Abraham's response to the promised land, the stories in Genesis reveal a tension between God's abundant generosity and humanity's selfish responses. This tension continues when the people of Israel reside in the promised land—a gift they repeatedly misuse. In this re-released episode from 2019, Tim and Jon trace the theme of generosity and scarcity from Genesis to Deuteronomy, uncovering what it means for us today.View more resources on our website →Timestamps Chapter 1: First-Born and Second-Born (00:00-20:05)Chapter 2: God Chooses the Unlikely One + TheTower of Babel (20:05-32:21)Chapter 3: Abraham Gets the Ultimate Gift (32:21-44:00)Chapter 4: Rescued Slaves (44:00-1:02:51)Referenced ResourcesA Commentary on the Book of Genesis: Part I - From Adam to Noah by Umberto CassutoCreated Equal: How the Bible Broke with Ancient Political Thought by Joshua A.
