Mike embarks on the penultimate issues of the 2015 main Star Wars run of comics; Rebels & Rogues! In this story Luke wants to distract some imperials, but gets entangled with another force sensitive person, Han & Leia head to Lanz Carpo; a planet near Coruscant to try and frame it's leader and Chewbacca & C-3PO venture to a planet of “rock people” and Darth Vader is right around the corner… Also in Mike's outro, he does a Palpatine impression, so be warned about that! This story is set before Empire Strikes Back, around 1-3 ABY. All issues were written by Greg Pak, with Phil Noto as the artist and colour artist. Issue 68 was released July 2019, issue 72 was released October 2019 and the trade paperback collection was released November 2019. In this episode, we talk about the "original" trilogy's finale, Return of the Jedi, aka Star Wars Episode VI. Unfortunately, it's also the "Special Edition" Blu-Ray, so we have THAT to deal with as well. Episode music is "Star Wars Main Title" and "Ewok Celebration and Finale" by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra as well as "Let's All Go to the Lobby" by Dave Fleischer.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=FDAK8MLABD6SG&source=url)

I’m a huge Star Wars fan and have watched the Original Trilogy about ten billion times. Erin doesn’t remember watching any Star Wars movie so we both watch, and then we review. I set the bar pretty high with The Empire Strikes Back so does Erin think it lives up to my hype? Erin is also unique since she began her Star Wars journey with Rogue One as opposed to A New Hope or Episode I. Stay tuned after the review for the comments we made during the movie. Our #skytalkersmachete series returns with the classic sequel, The Empire Strikes Back! We look at a listener email about Anakin’s virgin birth, and then get right into things. First, we discuss the story of the film; then, we talk character journeys. We ask: why is Luke so angry on Dagobah, as per Yoda? What do we think of the Han/Leia relationship as it is here? And finally, we talk about how this fits into the machete order since putting The Phantom Menace in front of it. We answer a ton of Twitter questions: we get into deleted scenes and the film’s initial reception. All this and more on this episode! Correction: Charlotte means Boba Fett, not Doctor Aphra, when discussing Vader learning about Luke. Also, we forgot to mention our dear Patron, Emma! We love you, Emma! Follow us on @skytalkerspod for more fun and individually @crerrity and @caitlinplesher. Thanks for listening! skytalkers.com

We also drop some details about the Star Wars: Rebels episode “Ghosts of Geonosis” (3.12-13). We swear that information is somewhat related to […]
