Justin reviews "Chapter 7: Call to Oblivion" and "Chapter 8: The Creeping Fear" of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, streaming now on Disney+!The Empire tightens its grip on Janix as a second Inquisitor — the Eleventh Brother — joins Marrok in the hunt. Maul's crew fractures under the pressure, with betrayal and tragedy hitting the Shadow Collective hard. Then, in episode 8, Maul is forced to confront something far more dangerous than any Inquisitor: his own past. Force-induced visions drag him back to Dathomir, to Savage, to the brutal training under Darth Sidious himself — and the haunting question of why he could never break free. Meanwhile, Devon is inching closer to Maul's side, Rylee is in Imperial custody, and the finale is set up with a massive tease: Dryden Vos and Crimson Dawn are coming to Janix.⚠️ SPOILER WARNING — This review is spoiler-filled. Justin reviews "Chapter 9: Strange Allies" and "Chapter 10: The Dark Lord" of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, now streaming on Disney+!The season finale dropped on Star Wars Day — and it delivered. Dryden Vos arrives with an offer Maul can't refuse: take out his boss, and Crimson Dawn is yours. With that, an unlikely alliance forms as Maul, the Jedi, and the Lawsons are forced to fight their way out of Janix together. But Darth Vader himself shows up to clean up the mess the Inquisitors couldn't finish — and the combined might of Devon, Master Daki, and Maul is no match for the Dark Lord. Season 1 ends with Maul one step closer to becoming the shadow puppet master we know from Solo, and Devon standing at the edge of a very dark path.⚠️ SPOILER WARNING — This review is spoiler-filled. Send us Fan MailDarth Maul isn't scary because he's loud. He's scary because he sounds like he believes every bitter thing he says. We sit down to unpack Maul Shadow Lord and why this animated Star Wars series feels so focused, so tense, and so intentionally crafted that it demands your full attention. We talk about the look first: hand-painted backgrounds, textured character art, and cinematic framing that makes entire scenes feel like moving concept paintings. From there we get into performance and storytelling, especially Sam Witwer's take on Maul and the idea that Maul can be an unreliable narrator. That single choice reframes everything, from how we read his motives to how we process the show's quiet moments. Then we go deep on the dread factor: Darth Vader shows up less like a person and more like a myth, the Empire's shadow made real.Along the way we debate voice casting, call out small production details we can't unsee, and argue about who the “real” villain is (yes, Two Boots gets put on trial). We also connect the dots to Crimson Dawn and Solo: A Star Wars Story, and why Star Wars often does its best work when the timeline box is tight. Plus: quick life updates on Neverness to Everness, Mortal Kombat 2, Dungeon Crawler Carl, and a teaser for next week's Godzilla run.If you enjoyed the ride, subscribe, share the episode with a Star Wars friend, and leave us a five-star review so more people can find the show.Support the show
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Star Wars has become an increasingly Televisual universe and who would have thought so many years ago, that animation would actually give us some of the most epic and anticipated match-ups the fandom has ever wanted. Maul: Shadow Lord is the latest animated offering from Lucasfilm this time exploring a part of the history we know very little about. And the machinations of one of the coolest and most intimidating villains: Dryden Vos. Also Maul is in there too jumping around and being all mopey and shit. Will this show align into a unified Solo inclusive Timeline? will anyone care? GONK! Synopsis Set shortly after the Clone Wars, we follow the former Sith Lord as he rebuilds his criminal syndicate, Crimson Dawn, during the early reign of the Empire. Darth Vader shows up in Maul: Shadow Lord without saying a single word — and somehow that's the most terrifying thing he's done in years. Matthew Fox is joined by Pete Wright and AK Ahab to wrap up Season 1: the Vader reveal, Devan's accelerating fall, Spybot's acid-bath farewell, and the Crimson Dawn cliffhanger hiding a very familiar face from Solo: A Star Wars Story. The core debate here is one the show earns: is Maul an anti-hero, or is Maul: Shadow Lord just cosplaying as one? All three hosts land in the same place, Maul is a villain, full stop, who generates genuine sympathy without ever earning redemption, and the show is better for refusing to let him off the hook. They work through Vader's fighting style (blunt-force strength, no Anakin artistry), the AI voice question hanging over Season 2, Devan's Anakin-parallel point of no return, and whether Lawson's sacrificial-father arc earns its place or takes the easy road.AK Ahab raises the throughline from The Clone Wars to Rebels that reframes the whole season: this encounter is likely where Maul first starts to figure out who Vader actually is, and that context makes every frame of their confrontation land differently. **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, an Ethical Panda podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. The Season 1 finale of STAR WARS: MAUL - SHADOW LORD delivered everything we hoped for: emotional betrayals, jaw-dropping visuals, terrifying horror vibes, and the long-awaited confrontation between Maul and Darth Vader. Richard and Sarah break down Chapters 9 and 10, from Dryden Vos and Crimson Dawn connections to Devon's tragic fall toward the dark side, and the MANY deaths along the way. Did Brander Lawson survive? We want your opinion, because Richard and Sarah are split! MAUL - SHADOW LORD composers Kevin, Deana, and Sean Kiner sneak in many musical references to "Duel of the Fates," "Battle of the Heroes," and "Anakin's Dark Deeds," all from the Prequel trilogy. We analyze how each of these callbacks help the overall storytelling of this series. One of the standout elements of the finale is Vader himself. His silent entrance through the misty forest instantly joins the ranks of iconic Vader reveals from A New Hope, Rogue One, and even Splinter of the Mind's Eye. The horror-inspired music, jump scares, and brutal fighting style made Vader feel unstoppable. Meanwhile, Maul manipulated events exactly as planned, allowing Devon's rage over Master Daki's death to push her into becoming his apprentice. The symbolism throughout the finale — broken bridges, collapsing temples, and fractured Jedi ideals — gave the battle emotional weight beyond the lightsaber clashes. We get into all of it! Is this the first Maul vs Vader battle in Star Wars history? While it's their first major onscreen showdown, the two previously dueled in the 2001 comic Star Wars Tales #9. Richard and Sarah explore that deep-cut Expanded Universe story. PODCAST SPONSORS Small World Vacations is an official sponsor of Skywalking Through Neverland. Apparently, Tim is HIM! This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl buckle up for a finale-heavy week with the last two episodes of Maul: Shadow Lord, the Season 2 finale of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, The Boys Season 5 Episode 6, and Netflix's 2026 limited series Lord of the Flies. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Lord of the Flies: 7:02 Maul: 12:47 Monarch: 29:32 Daredevil: 46:50 The Boys: 1:02:16 Lord of the Flies, Netflix Limited Series Limited Series Episodes: 4 Titles: Piggy, Jack, Simon, Ralph Netflix release date: May 4, 2026 in the U.S. Original release date: February 8, 2026 Director: Marc Munden Writer: Jack Thorne Summary: Netflix's 2026 Lord of the Flies limited series adapts William Golding's classic survival nightmare into a four-episode TV format, following a group of British schoolboys stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. Ralph and Piggy try to build order, rules, and rescue plans, while Jack's need for power and violence slowly turns the group into rival camps. The series tracks the collapse through four character-focused episodes: Piggy brings the boys together, Jack embraces the hunt, Simon becomes the tragic victim of the island's growing hysteria, and Ralph watches the last pieces of civilization burn down around him. By the end, Piggy and Simon are dead, Ralph is hunted, and rescue arrives only after the boys have already proven that the real monster was never hiding in the jungle. Rating Out of 10 It Would Have Been Better Not to Try at All Brian: 1/10 Darryl: DNW Maul: Shadow Lord (Disney Plus) Title: Chapter 9: Strange Allies Air date: May 4, 2026 Director: Steward Lee Writer: Christopher Yost Summary: Dryden Vos enters the picture with an offer Maul absolutely cannot ignore: safe passage off Janix in exchange for Maul taking the reins of Crimson Dawn. Meanwhile, Maul reaches out to Devon through their Force connection, drawing her and the rest of the group into a desperate alliance. Lawson suggests a dangerous underground route out of the city, but the escape turns into a nightmare when the group has to cross a toxic river while the Inquisitors close in. Maul holds them off long enough for everyone to make it across, only for Darth Vader to arrive outside the city and casually remind everyone that there is always a bigger monster in the room. Title: Chapter 10: The Dark Lord Air date: May 4, 2026 Director: Nathaniel Villanueva Writer: Matt Michnovetz & Brad Rau Summary: The season finale throws Maul, Devon, Daki, the Lawsons, and the rest of the survivors straight into Vader's shadow. Maul and the Jedi fight Vader and the Inquisitors while the others try to reach Dryden Vos's ship through a wall of Imperial troops. Daki gets a brief victory over Marrok, but Vader kills him after Maul chooses self-preservation over loyalty. Devon's grief and rage push her closer to Maul, who promises to train her for revenge. Lawson sacrifices himself so Rylee, Two-Boots, and Vario can escape, and by the time Vos's ship leaves Janix, Devon agrees to become Maul's apprentice. Good news: they escaped. Kong battles Titan X while Cate escapes Isabel's base and Keiko rescues her. Tim and May try to shut down the neural implants, but the real fix comes from returning Titan X's egg, which pacifies the creature and ends the fight. Titan X returns to Axis Mundi with the egg, Shaw and Keiko get a brief emotional vision of younger Shaw, and six weeks later Monarch officially recruits Cate, Keiko, May, and Tim. Dex stops AVTF officers from killing Matt, then takes a shot at Fisk, causing chaos inside the courthouse. Outside, Daredevil's supporters rise up after BB Urich pushes the city to fight back. Fisk is offered exile to avoid charges, but because he is Wilson Fisk and subtlety has never once entered the chat, he lashes out and kills multiple protestors before Matt convinces him to take the deal. Fisk leaves New York, the AVTF collapses, BB lands at the New York Bulletin, Jessica reunites with Luke Cage, Heather Glenn starts sliding into Muse territory, and Matt ends the season arrested and imprisoned for being Daredevil. SUMMARYJacob and Evan break down the explosive finale of Maul: Shadow Lord, focusing on Darth Vader's terrifying arrival, Maul's long-term manipulation strategy, and Devon's emotional turn toward the dark side. Rather than centering purely on lightsaber action, the discussion dives into the psychology behind fear, revenge, grief, and corruption. The episode explores how Maul ultimately succeeds without truly defeating Vader, using Daki's death and Devon's pain to gain influence and control. The hosts also compare this portrayal of Vader to other Star Wars appearances, arguing this may be one of the strongest depictions of him outside the original trilogy. The conversation expands into Star Wars storytelling as a whole, discussing where the series ranks among Clone Wars, Rebels, Andor, and Revenge of the Sith, while also examining how music, visuals, and pacing elevated the finale into one of the most emotionally intense Star Wars stories in years.KEYWORDSDarth Vader Maul finaleMaul Shadow Lord breakdownDevon dark side theoryStar Wars finale analysisDarth Vader horror scenesCrimson Dawn explainedMaul vs Vader discussionStar Wars psychologyRevenge of the Sith comparisonsClone Wars vs Maul Shadow LordStar Wars character manipulationDevon Darth Talon theoryTIMESTAMPS00:00:01 - Why this finale made Darth Vader feel unstoppable00:00:42 - Jacob and Evan react to Episodes 9 and 1000:02:05 - Full recap of the finale and Maul's manipulation plan00:03:25 - Comedy ad break and “Dead Dads Club” joke00:04:47 - Initial reactions and favorite moments from the finale00:05:23 - Maul's manipulation of Daki and Devon explained00:06:50 - Icarus' sacrifice and the best action scenes00:09:07 - The incredible Inquisitor entrance sequence00:10:48 - Best visual shots and cinematic moments in the finale00:12:02 - Horror-style Vader entrance and Mandalorian deaths00:13:22 - Ranking Maul: Shadow Lord against other Star Wars stories00:20:13 - Maul manipulating Devon through dreams and the Force00:22:06 - Devon potentially becoming Darth Talon theory00:23:12 - Will Devon return to the light side?00:26:04 - Why Daki's death shocked the hosts00:30:21 - How knowing Star Wars canon affects tension in prequels00:33:32 - Lawson survival theory and Devon's future00:38:21 - Starkiller and Force Unleashed references explained00:40:15 - Musical callbacks to Revenge of the Sith and Duel of the Fates00:42:42 - Why Vader's appearance exceeded expectations00:44:46 - The psychology of why Vader feels terrifying00:49:01 - Fallen Order comparisons and “run away from Vader” energy00:51:00 - Best portrayal of Vader outside the original trilogy00:57:37 - Vader's theatrical intimidation tactics analyzed01:02:15 - Predictions for Crimson Dawn and Season 201:04:46 - Was Daki right to reject the dark side?
The two-part finale of Maul: Shadow Lord is finally here, and it is every bit as brutal, dark, and beautiful as we hoped. From the ruins of Janix to a cliffhanger that has the entire community theorizing about the future of Crimson Dawn, we are breaking down every major moment from Episode 9 and 10.
SUMMARYJacob and Evan break down Episodes 7 and 8 of Maul: Shadow Lord, diving deep into the psychological unraveling of Darth Maul as he's hunted, injured, and forced to confront his past. These episodes shift the focus from pure action to something far more introspective—exploring trauma, identity, and what remains of a character driven almost entirely by revenge. The discussion highlights how Maul's visions and memories reshape how we understand his motivations, especially his relationship with Sidious and his brother Savage. The hosts debate whether Maul's apparent shift—from personal revenge to preventing future suffering—adds depth or conflicts with his established character. They also analyze standout moments like the intense Inquisitor battle, the visual storytelling, and the growing instability of Maul's alliances. The episode closes with predictions about where Maul's journey is heading—questioning whether this is the rise of a more dangerous version of Maul or the continuation of his tragic downward spiral.KEYWORDSDarth Maul psychologyMaul Shadow Lord episode 7 8 breakdownStar Wars character analysis MaulSith trauma and revengeMaul vs Inquisitors fight analysisStar Wars canon vs legends discussionMaul character developmentStar Wars storytelling breakdownSith mental health themesMaul Savage Opress relationshipStar Wars podcast discussionMaul future predictionsTIMESTAMPS00:00:00 - Intro: What happens when Maul is broken?00:00:26 - Podcast intro and episode overview00:00:56 - Episode summary: Maul hunted and shattered00:02:27 - Deep dive into Maul's trauma and past00:04:46 - Bridge battle and Inquisitor fight highlights00:06:12 - Discussing lack of low points in the episode00:08:05 - Debate: Is Maul's motivation changing?00:12:05 - Trauma, Savage, and Maul's mindset00:15:01 - Canon vs Legends discussion00:22:21 - Does the backstory improve Maul?00:29:02 - Mandalorian betrayal and loyalty discussion00:43:00 - Finale predictions and Crimson Dawn setup
This week on Fantastic Forum, we are diving into dark power and cultural identity with two bold stories from very different worlds. First up is Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord on Disney+, the latest Star Wars series centered on one of the saga's most dangerous and compelling villains. Following Darth Maul as he consolidates power in the criminal underworld, the show explores the rise of Crimson Dawn and the cost of control in a galaxy ruled by fear. With intense action, layered storytelling, and a deeper look into Maul's psyche, we are breaking down whether this series delivers on the promise of one of Star Wars' most iconic characters. Then we turn to Death to Pachuco, from writer Henry Barajas and artist Rachel Merrill, with colors by Lee Loughridge. Blending Chicano culture and historical tension, the story follows Private eye Ricardo “Ricky” Tellez. He needs to find the Sleep Lagoon Killer before the racist mob kills him in the Zoot Suit Riots. We are discussing whether it lands as one of the standout indie releases of the year. Watch tonight at 6:30 pm PT and call in live at www.fantasticforum.live to share your thoughts. A heist on a crime-syndicate planet, a “Duel of the Fates” needle drop that hasn't been heard since The Phantom Menace, and a Sith lord who barely has to break a sweat... Maul is off to a hell of a start. Matthew and Alex welcome TruStory FM co-owner Pete Wright to break down the first two episodes of the new animated series, set in the lawless underworld of Janix at the dawn of the Empire. The conversation covers the Blade Runner-meets-cop-noir world-building, the “sandwich prequel” problem of writing a character whose beginning and end we already know, and the big question: can Maul sustain eight episodes as a title character? Matthew makes the case that Maul is a Cassandra figure — he sees Palpatine's plan clearly and completely, but his methods mean no one will listen to him. Meanwhile, Pete brings a sharp outside perspective on what the show owes to Andor's willingness to let crime politics breathe. There's also spirited debate over Devin Izara and her Jedi master, whether the show's hallway fight scene has earned its place in a now-crowded genre, and where Crimson Dawn fits into Maul's long game — because Palpatine, as it turns out, is playing Candyland, and the outcome was never really in doubt.Star Wars Generations**************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, an Ethical Panda podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. The Maul Shadow Lord trailer is here and it looks dark gritty and very different from recent Star Wars. With stunning animation Crimson Dawn vibes and echoes of George Lucas original sequel trilogy ideas this new animated series could redefine Darth Maul and the future of Star Wars leading into May the Fourth.

Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's a lawless time, y'all. Organized crime syndicates are running a muck since the fall of the Galactic Republic, forcing others to fight for survival. On the industrial ship-building planet Corellia, Lady Proxima, leader of the White Worms gang, is after a hyperfuel known as coaxium. That's when we meet Han. He is trying to escape Corellia for good. He feels confident he can do that after getting his hands on some coaxium. His girlfriend Qi'ra is pumped. But as they go to escape, they are found by some of Proxima's baddies and are taken to her. He's like oh I don't have an coaxium, but what i do have is THIS! He pulls out a rock and throws it through a window which lets in light which Proximia and her species are allergic to and they escape! But it does take long for them to catch up with him and a chase ensues. They bribe an Imperial officer at a spaceport for passage off-world. Han makes it through, but Qi'ra is captured at the last moment. Separated by a security gate, Han promises to return for her.Alone and desperate, Han enlists in the Imperial Navy. When asked for his surname, he's called “Solo” since he claims to have no family. Fast forward three years, Han has been expelled from flight school for acting a fool and is now down in the mud of a battle. There, he encounters a group of thieves disguised as soldiers—Tobias Beckett, Val, and Rio. When Han tries to blackmail his way into their crew, Beckett has him arrested and thrown into a pit with a deadly creature: a Wookiee named Chewbacca.Han and Chewbacca form a quick alliance, escaping together and convincing Beckett to take them in. Realizing Chewbacca's brute strength is valuable, Beckett agrees. The crew sets off for their next job—stealing coaxium from a moving train. The heist goes sideways when they're ambushed by a gang of pirates. Rio is fatally shot, Val sacrifices herself, and the coaxium is lost in the chaos.Beckett reveals they were working for Dryden Vos, a high-ranking figure in the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, and now owe him. To make amends, Han and Chewbacca offer to help steal unrefined coaxium from the mines on Kessel. Beckett agrees and takes them to Dryden's luxurious yacht, where Han reunites with Qi'ra—now a high-ranking lieutenant.Vos approves the plan but insists Qi'ra accompany them. She leads them to the suave smuggler Lando Calrissian, hoping to use his ship, the Millennium Falcon. Han loses a rigged card game to Lando but convinces him to join the mission in exchange for a cut. With Lando's droid co-pilot L3-37 onboard, the team sets off.On Kessel, L3 sparks a riot among droid slaves, while Chewbacca breaks off to free Wookiee prisoners. The team escapes with the coaxium, but L3 is destroyed and Lando is injured. Using L3's navigational system, Han pilots the Falcon. Han hatches a plan to outsmart Dryden Vos. It's a classic double cross station. When they meet again, Dryden exposes Beckett as his informant. But Han had anticipated the betrayal—the coaxium given to Vos is real, and the fake decoy was a bluff.Beckett takes Chewbacca and the coaxium hostage, but Han later confronts and shoots him before he can retaliate. Meanwhile, Qi'ra kills Dryden Vos but secretly contacts her true boss: Darth Maul. She takes Vos's ship and leaves, choosing to embrace her role.Han tracks down Lando and challenges him to a rematch in cards. This time, Han wins, gaining ownership of the Millennium Falcon. With Chewbacca by his side, Han sets off for Tatooine, following a tip about a powerful gangster—Jabba the Hutt—looking for smugglers for a big job.

In tonight's livestream episode, we explored the intricate story of Darth Maul within the Star Wars universe.Dathomir: The Witches' PlanetDathomir, a mysterious planet located in the Outer Rim's Quelli sector, is known for its unique features. This remote world is illuminated by a red sun and characterized by a diverse terrain, including dense forests and murky swamps. However, its most intriguing aspect lies in its history.Centuries before the Clone Wars, Dathomir was home to a species known as the Fromprath. They were forcibly displaced from the planet by the Nightsisters, a group of powerful witches. These Nightsisters would later become integral to Maul's life.Mother Talzin: Leader of the NightsistersBorn on Dathomir, Mother Talzin emerged as a formidable figure among the Nightsisters and the Nightbrothers, the male Zabrak species native to Dathomir. Talzin's power lay in Nightsister magick, which even caught the attention of the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious.Talzin and Sidious: A Dark AllianceDarth Sidious, a master of dark side force powers, was drawn to Nightsister magick and visited Dathomir. He initially promised to make Talzin his apprentice but instead chose her son, Maul, as his own apprentice. This act of betrayal fueled Talzin's desire for revenge. The Rise and Fall of Darth MaulMaul, introduced in "The Phantom Menace," was trained by Sidious and became his apprentice. He engaged in an epic battle on Naboo, where he faced Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and was later defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Maul's return, marked by new mechanical legs and a thirst for vengeance, set the stage for further conflicts. The Shadow Collective and Maul's Quest for PowerMaul, now a self-proclaimed Sith Lord, took his brother Savage Opress as an apprentice, but their efforts to destroy Kenobi were thwarted. Maul later joined forces with the Death Watch, a militant Mandalorian group, and orchestrated the takeover of Mandalore. This ambitious journey also involved the acquisition of the legendary Darksaber.Mother Talzin's End and the Siege of MandaloreMaul's story continued in the Marvel Comics series "Maul: Son of Dathomir," but the end of Mother Talzin was imminent. Sidious, Count Dooku, and General Grievous set their sights on her, leading to a climactic showdown on Dathomir, with tragic consequences.Maul's reign on Mandalore came to an end, thanks to the heroic efforts of Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and the 501st Legion. His quest for power led him to form the criminal organization Crimson Dawn, marking another intriguing chapter in his dark journey.Maul and Kenobi: The Final ConfrontationFueled by years of revenge, Maul's last confrontation with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine is a gripping moment in the Star Wars saga. In a final duel, Kenobi's mastery of the Force prevails, bringing a dramatic end to Maul's tragic character arc.
In the beginning, there were no scholarly books about superhero comics. And then there was Super Heroes: A Modern Mythology, written by none other than this week's guest, Richard Reynolds! We discuss Brian Braddock's epic battle against the Crimson Dawn in Excalibur #109, “Dragon Moon Rising,” alongside the equally epic battle to convince the academy to take comics seriously while reckoning with a seriously contagious case of imposter syndrome.
The streets are getting punchy and Kitty and Rahne are getting pretty in Excalibur #108, “The Old Ways,” co-starring Spiral and the Dragons of the Crimson Dawn and also Shamrock is there! Molly Fitzgerald is too good for this comic and so is our guest, award-winning comics scholar Dr. Susan Kirtley, who comes bearing tales of rebellious reading and secrets from the serial adventures of Cathy and the transformative talent of Lynda Barry. Plus! Fabulous female friendships in comics and why they matter.
Today, let's dive into a fan-fiction from Revenge of the Sith that I think would have changed the fate of Anakin's future, and the events of the galaxy as a whole. If Qui-Gon Jinn had showed up to Anakin to speak with him during his more pivotal and dire moment, I believe so many things could have been changed. Anakin would see that Jedi can live on beyond the living form. Anakin wouldn't rush to help Palpatine as he fought Mace Windu. He would learn all he could from his true Jedi Master. Palpatine would eventually be arrested and Luke and Leia would be born. Anakin would train Leia, and Yoda would train Luke, while the marriage and relationship of Anakin and Padme would be kept a secret for as long as they could. The children of Skywalker would just be strong force sensitives to the knowledge of the council, while many would suspect the truth, they would turn a blind eye until they were sure. Maul would surface from the far reaches of space, bringing an army with Crimson Dawn to the Jedi and wreaking havoc across the galaxy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In the book of Boba Fett, when Cad Bane meets Cobb Vanth, he tells him that Boba Fett is a cold blooded killer that worked for the empire, to which Cobb says tell your spice runners tattooine is closed for business. Cad tells him you should have never given up your armour. How the heck does he know Cobb had Boba's armor and that he gave it to the Mandalorian. Clearly, Cad has been keeping track of everything going on in Tatooine. This must have been a major prospect planet for the Pykes. They were probably scouring different planets out for which is best to sell spice through, and Tatooine definitely won, or became a more prime hub for it. This means that Cad knows about the Mandalorian, he knows about Boba Fett not having his armour, so probably he's the one who killed the Tuskens and had been keeping an eye on them for a while as the pykes were travelling through Tatooine to do their trading, and he was hired to keep the operation going smoothly. This one line of dialogue is more creepy than I think many are giving it credit for. It's super unsettling how privy Cad is to all the events going on in Tatooine and all the characters we've been following for so long, he's been there watching and keeping tabs. It makes me wonder what would have happened had he actually been a bounty hunter to get Grogu from the Mandalorian. I don't think the Mandalorian would have had a chance. While the dark troopers were powerful physically, they weren't very bright. Cad Bane's big brain houses decades of fighting experience and war tactics that make him who he is. The only thing is, he's now so old, so I wonder how he's going keep up with all the fighting going down. Does he have backup? I can't imagine he's the only one who's protecting the pykes. There must be more muscle behind their grand plan and projects, and I think it's Crimson Dawn. I also believe Cad has some others he brought with him, like Boba Fett brought Fennec, Cad probably called up Bossk, who is equally as terrifying as Black Krrsantan. Why do you think Cad Bane knows so much about Cobb's armour? Was he the one who killed Boba's Tusken village? Where's the warrior who Boba worked with? What happened to her? Having touched upon it briefly in the Book of Boba Fett Episode 7 breakdown, I gotta say, I don't think Cad Bane is dead. In the book of Boba Fett finale, cad bane was killed super fast by Boba Fett, in a spin of events he threw him on his feet with his Gaffi stick and thrusted the tail end of it into Cad's chest. I just don't think Dave Filoni would bring back this huge animated character only to give him the most lame death in two seconds. We were left with Boba walking away and Cad Bane's vest beeping like a bomb were about to go off. This, I believe, is his transponder to his droid to come and pick him up. Bane has survived his shot to the head from Boba in the unreleased clone wars episode, which is also how Boba got the dent in his helmet. This is why Cad had that metal plate on his head in the show, and for us animated Star Wars fans, we've seen that plate. I highly recommend watching the clone wars, rebels, and the bad batch to really understand all these characters. So what I think will happen, is Cad Bane gets picked up by his droid, Todo 360, who puts him in his ship and then either throws him in a Bacta tank or flies him to someone who can heal him. His tubes also allow him to breathe via the pipe going into his throat, so it's possible that while his lungs might be punctured from Boba, he's able to breathe from the mechanics of his tubes. Now if you didn't know, Bane has these so that he can prevent being force choked by Jedi. The tube in his throat doesn't allow his trachea to close when being force choked, which makes him impervious to that kind of devastating attack. So his life could also be sustained by those tubes. I believe we will see him again, I don't think this is the end for him. The push in shot we got of his beeping vest really alludes to his return and that he's not really dead. I think for season 2 we could see Cad Bane return with a more powerful enemy, maybe a crime syndicate which was something that George Lucas was planning to incorporate into his sequel trilogy with the Hutts and Crimson Dawn and beyond. If you want to learn more about that, check my video out with all the proof and evidence from George's mouth himself, of his sequel trilogy. I believe we may be getting more to Boba in the next season, which I assume we'll get based on Ming Na Wen's post regarding season 1, which makes me think we're getting a book of Boba Fett season 2. Something I noticed in the book of Boba Fett episode 5 was a very familiar ship that we haven't seen for decades. The Scimitar. If we go to the end credits where the concept art rolls in on the halo city, we see this ship in the far right top corner. This is the scimitar. Is this Darth maul's ship? Assuming it could be, considering ALL the big Phantom Menace vibes in this episode...let's go ahead with the theory. Now while it's possible there are several models of this same ship, I don't think the concept artist would put it in such an iconic ship just for giggles. Much like how in revenge of the Sith we see the Millennium Falcon on Coruscant, this ship here I think is actually Maul's scimitar. So, is this maul? No way, he's dead. But who I do think it is, is Qi'ra. Maul's apprentice and the leader to crimson dawn. I believe this little Easter egg is something not to be glossed over. I believe crimson dawn is the one funding the Pykes and really the power behind this whole show. I think what's going to happen is Thrown controls everything, like the Thanos of Star Wars, and Qi'ra is like Hella, or somewhat like a version of Nebula or something. Maul's crime syndicate is being now led by Qi'ra who rose to power in Solo. I think seeing her and maybe even Han Solo together in the show could be interesting. Perhaps she captures him or something and brings him to Boba as a peace offering. Luke has to step in and it's an all out war, and we see boba a bit conflicted but ultimately staying true to his team. I think boba wants revenge on Luke and Han for what they did to him. So it would be exciting to see what happens if he comes across them again… Qi'ra will be really powerful, not in the force as she isn't force sensitive, but in her duelling trained by Maul as well as her overall control of the Crimson Dawn. She controls many crime lords much like Maul did, as we see him tell everyone to go into hiding just before Order 66 in The clone wars season 7. Seeing Maul's ship, let's me know that Crimson Dawn is indeed coming, and we can expect an all out war in the 7th episode. I hope it is his ship, and not just there for fun. Could the Boba Fett Finale Begin a New Sequel Trilogy with Luke? Ok...Well, I believe Boba will hire Din Djarrin as one of the members of his new muscle team. We have Fennec Shand, Black Krrsantan, the two Gammorreans, and that's it. With Din on his side, let's say he does join, which I think he will, after the help Boba gave him in season 2, I find it hard to believe he'll decline, especially now that he doesn't have Grogu to look after. We have to remember Din has the dark saber. This means he is the rightful ruler of Mandalore, and with him comes an entire loyal army of other mandalorians. This means all the mandos we saw in season 1 episode 2 could come with him, and the pykes would get absolutely blasted…that is…unless they have cad bane, Bossk, and qira on their side. Qira is dangerous maybe more than anyone else because she was privately trained by Darth Maul. She even held her own for a few seconds against Vader which isn't easy. If Boba gets Din, he gets Bo Katan and all other mandalorians who are loyal to their leader. Will he use a comm link, or will he actually go to mandalore, assuming that's where they are now and where they've taken Moff Gideon. Now, Jaster Mereel was the rightful ruler of Mandalore, the man who was like a father to Jango Fett and trained him to become a mandalorian, does this mean that Boba could want to rule mandalore himself? Will he even care to someday fight Din for the dark saber? What if he goes to Mandalore, and finds Din captured by the remnants of the Empire who came to save Moff Giddeon, and now they control the dark saber, making Boba fight them and granting him the dark saber to rule. Now Boba rules Mandalore, Mandalorians, and soon the crime world of Tatooine and other parts of the galaxy. Now, what if the Pykes are being funded by Crimson Dawn, who roll with Cad Bane, Bossk, and Qira. Qira was trained by Maul, but what if they take another apprentice Maul had, one from legends, Darth Talon. This would make the sequel trilogy that George Lucas had planned before selling to Disney a possibility and allowing Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to create the most epic story based on Luke fighting Maul's apprentice, and finding a slew of new Jedi to train, Grogu being one of them. This season could literally open the road to a sequel trilogy before the completed sequel trilogy and give us two sequels essentially. Only this one being before the force awakens and it wouldn't be a film, but rather a series of spin off shows that all eventually lead to one finale, or, better yet, one final film. We would end this season with Luke perhaps finding out about Talon and the Emperor's cloning facility that is working to bring him back, among other things like Snoke, and we could have the Ahsoka show explain Thrawn and Ezra eventually leading into meeting Luke Skywalker and learning from him, tying everything to the top of the storyboard here, which is the Empire cloning Luke, to gives us Luuke just like in heir to the empire, who goes on to lead the first order and terrify Luke so much that once Luuke is finally defeated, the real Luke feels the need to go into hiding and cut himself off from the force in order to save the galaxy from getting himself cloned again and this time losing. Now mind you even if that was his fear, he would stand and fight, but honestly that's the only logical thing I could see for Luke hiding like he did. I think the Pykes are just the tip of the ice berg. I believe behind them is crimson dawn, and behind them or rather working alongside them is an even larger threat to the face of the galaxy. I believe with each faction, we will have different heroes needing to rise up to take them down. Boba with the Pykes and Crimson dawn, Luke with possible force users, Ahsoka against Thrawn, and eventually the rise of Snoke, as we do know that in canon Luke has fought Snoke before at some point. Either way, Din Djarrin is coming into this season, and I couldn't be more excited for it. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
