Whether you're naturally intuitive, spiritually curious, or simply wondering if there's more to life's coincidences than meets the eye, this episode of Big Blend Radio's "Quality of Life" podcast offers an engaging and thoughtful conversation with author Katherine Marie about her new book, "High Five Your Spirit Guides: Manifest the Life You've Always Wanted with the Help of Your Spirit Guides." Drawing from her background in computers and IT, Katherine brings a refreshingly practical perspective to spirituality, showing how intuition, mindfulness, journaling, meditation, tarot, crystals, and simple daily rituals can help people become more aware of the guidance already present in their lives. Rather than asking listeners to abandon logic, she encourages curiosity, self-reflection, and openness to recognizing meaningful signs, synchronicities, and opportunities. In this inspiring discussion, Katherine shares: _ What spirit guides are—and how they differ from angels and ancestor spirits - Why intuition deserves more attention in our busy, technology-driven lives - How synchronicities, repeating numbers, and everyday experiences may carry meaningful messages - Easy exercises anyone can practice to strengthen intuition - The connection between manifestation, gratitude, focus, and daily rituals - Why balancing logic with spirituality can lead to greater confidence, purpose, abundance, and joy Learn more about Katherine Marie, her books, newsletter, and upcoming events at: https://www.innercompassmedia.com/ Whether you're a longtime believer or simply curious, this conversation offers practical ideas for cultivating greater awareness, inner peace, and a deeper connection with yourself and the world around you.

What if one text message could change someone's life? For many of us, our fitness journey started because someone invited us to try CrossFit. That simple invitation led to stronger bodies, greater confidence, lifelong friendships, and a community that feels like home.In this episode, we're talking about Bring-A-Friend Week and why inviting a friend or family member is about so much more than filling a class. It's about giving someone the opportunity to experience expert coaching, supportive community, and a healthier future. We'll discuss:

Send us Fan MailA 5K with nearly 3,000 feet of gain, a choose-your-own-line climb, and a descent that's basically controlled chaos. Bayden Menton joins me right after a huge Mount Marathon performance to break down what it actually feels like to race one of the most iconic mountain running events in Seward, Alaska and why the smallest decisions on cliffs, scree, and in the gut can decide your day.We also rewind to where Bayden comes from: Joseph, Oregon, early cross-country roots, and a life built around mountains. He shares how Western Colorado University's trail running team shaped his development, why good coaching is often about communication and consistency, and how he tries to chase progression without burning out or turning running into a joyless checklist. Then we get into the Trailhouse, a new training-house project supported by Hyperlite, Wynn, and Lever, with coaching from Matt Daniels. Baden talks about the selection process, what day-to-day training looks like with housemates, and the part nobody warns you about: being on camera and navigating social media without letting it hijack your focus. We close with what's next, including the High Five 100, Kodiak 100K as a UTMB qualifier, and long-term dreams like Zegama and UTMB.If you enjoy deep race breakdowns and honest talk about building a sustainable trail running career, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a rating and review.Use code SteepStuff for 20% your cart on Sidas.usFollow James on IG - @jameslaurielloFollow the Steep Stuff Podcast on IG - @steepstuff_podFollow Sidas USA on IG - @sidas_usa

Branden of Champ Talk asks viewers to like, subscribe, and review, then shares why Independence Day is meaningful: he regained his freedom on July 4 after serving county time for a marijuana distribution charge, describing work release, an “out of bounds” infraction tied to a sneaker shop newspaper article, lost appeal paperwork, parole denial, and the anxiety of limbo before learning his release date. He recounts a difficult, hot week with a sick three-and-a-half-year-old and a stressful Fourth of July that turned into a memorable moment when a storm hit during fireworks, helping him drop complaints and feel gratitude. He uses this to emphasize that even leaders struggle and need self-grace, discusses 10 months without alcohol, critiques perfection and outrage culture (citing Dustin Poirier), and describes his post-incarceration growth through faith, routines, debt and fear, a High Five leadership course that exposed ego and healed resentment with his mother, and therapy that revealed self-sabotage and the need to keep doing uncomfortable inner work.00:00 Welcome and Subscribe00:53 Independence Day Freedom Story03:20 Work Release Mistake05:45 Paperwork Limbo and Denial08:11 July Fourth Meaning09:41 Week From Hell at Home12:18 Pool Day Meltdown14:55 Storm Fireworks Revelation16:59 Grace and Perfectionism19:22 Ten Months Sober19:54 Party Guy Confessions20:22 Grace Over Cancel Culture22:19 Jail Wake Up Call25:27 Fear Debt And Rebuild26:41 High Five Leadership Shift29:09 Letter To Mom31:09 Disappointment And Self Grace36:11 Therapy And Self Sabotage41:10 Breaking The Chaos Addiction44:30 Faith Forgiveness And Closing

What students achieve is tied to whether they feel valued — and the same is true for the teachers who serve them. In this Motivational Monday conversation, coach and author Debbie Simões (founder of Best Questers, co-author of High Five to Thrive) shows teachers how valuing students transforms a classroom, even on the hardest days. Drawing on years in inner-city classrooms, Debbie shares how to see past a child's behavior to the person of value underneath, how to communicate to connect instead of to correct, and how to be a "hope agent" for yourself and your colleagues in a season of burnout and teacher shortages. In this episode, you'll learn: Why "communicate to connect" changes how kids respond to correction The difference between behavior-based praise and identity-based praise How to respond when a student is at their worst What it means to be a "hope agent" when your own tank is low The mantra that can transform a school: people of value who value people and add value to them Full show notes and resources: https://www.coolcatteacher.com/e950 If this episode encouraged you, share it with a teacher friend and rate the show wherever you're listening.

Landon McGauley grew up in British Columbia. Like many of our other guests from BC, he spent his formative years in the outdoors exploring the mountains and at an early age fell in love with biking, riding around his neighborhood with a shovel to build dirt jumps. In 2011, at the age of 15, he was in a biking crash resulting in a T5 spinal cord injury and paraplegia. Landon and I initially connected for an interview in 2022 when he had fully adapted to life as a paraplegic. In the years after his accident, Landon found his way to adaptive mountain biking and was amongst a crew of hard charging pioneering riders. He was working as the High Fives athlete manager, and notably, in the planning stage for an ambitious mountain biking and rafting trip with his brother. As we were assembling that episode and before Landon had a chance to embark on his big adventure, he was in another biking accident. This time breaking his neck resulting in quadriplegia. Landon now has the very unique life experience of living as a non-disabled or able-bodied person, a paraplegic, and now a quadriplegic. He is a thoughtful, well-read individual, and and openly shared his wisdom in this conversation.Guest info:@landonmcgauleyAdditional Resources:www.highfivesfoundation.orghttps://mhanational.org/resources/suicide-prevention/https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/suicide-prevention.htmlContact us: Instagram: @unexpectedjourneypodEmail: tim@unexpectedjourneypod.com Hosted and produced by Tim BrownEditing and sound design by Louis ArevaloOriginal theme music by Jesse LaFountaineEpisode cover art by Lewis Falconer Cover art and logo design by Anne Holt and Lewis Falconer
