The invisible threat that could derail your financial freedom — and how to protect yourself before it’s too late. In this real and raw episode of Get Invested, Bushy Martin opens up the conversation on one of the greatest unspoken risks to financial independence: relationship breakdown. Through a raw recount of his own divorce and the decades-long impact it had on his family, health and finances, Bushy highlights why love alone isn’t always enough to safeguard your future. He’s joined by Ian Macleod from RP Emery, a seasoned legal publishing professional who helps couples create clear, fair, and legally binding Binding Financial Agreements (BFAs)—without the stress or cost of traditional law firms. Together, they explore why BFAs are not about planning for failure, but about preserving trust, protecting assets, and preventing emotional and financial devastation. From the monkey jar analogy to plain-English contracts, Ian and Bushy reveal how proactive agreements can be the difference between long-term freedom and years of financial regret. In this episode, you’ll discover: The shocking stats behind divorce and its financial fallout Why long-term property plans are vulnerable to relationship breakdown How BFAs work to protect both parties — and why they’re a sign of trust, not distrust How Ian Macleod helps couples create simple, understandable legal agreements Why taking action while in love is the best investment in your future Stay tuned for Part 2, where Bushy and Ian unpack BFAs for couples navigating separation and how to stay out of the courtroom. About Ian Macleod: Ian is the founder of RP Emery, a legal publishing company that bridges the gap between couples and complex legal systems. With 15+ years of experience, Ian empowers couples to craft mutually beneficial financial agreements that avoid the cost and conflict of court. His mission: protect relationships, finances, and freedom through plain-English, legally sound solutions. On April 18, 2025, Judge Steven Hippler ruled on a motion in limine concerning witness identification in the case of Bryan Kohberger, who is charged with the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students. The defense sought to exclude testimony from D.M., a surviving roommate, who described the intruder as having "bushy eyebrows." They argued that her observation was unreliable due to factors like intoxication, fatigue, and limited visibility, and that such testimony could unfairly prejudice the jury. However, Judge Hippler denied the motion, stating that D.M.'s description is based on her personal knowledge and is relevant to the case. He emphasized that the credibility of her testimony should be assessed through cross-examination, not pretrial exclusion. The judge acknowledged that while D.M.'s recollection might be limited, her consistent mention of "bushy eyebrows" across multiple interviews adds weight to her account. He noted that the description does not inherently implicate the defendant and does not pose a risk of unfair prejudice that would warrant exclusion under Idaho Rule of Evidence 403. Judge Hippler concluded that it is the jury's responsibility to evaluate the significance of D.M.'s testimony in determining whether Kohberger is the individual she encountered.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource041825+Order+on+Defendants+Motion+in+Limine+RE+Witness+Identification+by+Bushy+Eyebrows.pdfBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

In this episode of Excess Returns, Matt Zeigler sits down with Rupert Mitchell—founder of Blind Squirrel Macro—for an insightful, opinionated, and often humorous discussion on global market dynamics, the Mag 7, structural portfolio shifts, and what it takes to be a successful generalist investor. From the “Chart of Truth” to the hidden value in tire stocks, Rupert brings decades of experience and a distinctive lens to markets, risk, and opportunity.
What does it take to push beyond limits—physically, mentally, and financially? Today’s guest proves that the same grit that conquers mountains can also conquer the property game. In this powerful episode of Get Invested, Bushy Martin is joined once again by Eddie Tchigique—aka Eddie the Frenchman—an extreme endurance athlete whose upcoming mission is nothing short of monumental: a solo, record-breaking 3,900km run across Australia from Cottesloe Beach in WA to Bondi Beach in NSW. But Eddie’s story is about far more than athletic feats. It’s about building an unbreakable mindset—one forged through discomfort, discipline and sheer determination. Having previously climbed two of the world’s deadliest peaks—Aconcagua in Argentina and Denali in Alaska—Eddie knows what it takes to go the distance, and he’s here to show you how those same principles apply directly to your property investment journey. Together, Bushy and Eddie unpack the endurance mindset—why true, sustainable success (in property or life) comes not from shortcuts, but from consistency, resilience and the willingness to push through when every fibre of your being says quit. If you’re serious about building wealth through property and living by design, this conversation will inspire you to run your own race with unwavering resolve. Support Eddie's mission
In Case Number CR01-24-31665, defendant Bryan C. Kohberger has filed a reply to the State's response concerning his Motion in Limine #7, which seeks to exclude testimony related to a witness's identification of the intruder based on "bushy eyebrows." The defense argues that such testimony is highly subjective and could lead to wrongful convictions, emphasizing that mistaken identifications have historically been a leading cause of such outcomes in the United States. They contend that allowing the witness, referred to as D.M., to describe the intruder's "bushy eyebrows" would be tantamount to an in-court identification of Kohberger, which they believe is inappropriate given the circumstances.Furthermore, the defense highlights that D.M. has a personal interest in drawing eyes and eyebrows, suggesting that her focus on this feature may not be a reliable basis for identification. They also point out that D.M. was interviewed multiple times by law enforcement, and her descriptions evolved over these interviews, raising concerns about the consistency and reliability of her testimony. The defense asserts that admitting such subjective identification could unfairly prejudice the jury and undermine Kohberger's right to a fair trial.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Ty ABecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Is the ‘buy and hold’ approach too slow to get you off the hamster wheel? Discover how flipping property helped one Aussie investor make $2M in just four years — starting with a tenant disaster. If you’re tired of being stuck in a job that leaves you time-poor and energy-depleted, and you’re wondering if there’s a faster path to freedom through property investment — you’re not alone. Ahead of Federal Election 2025, Bushy Martin cuts through the political noise to give you an honest, no-spin breakdown of the housing policies proposed by the major parties and how it impacts Australian property investors. With skyrocketing property prices outpacing wages and a shortage of housing supply, this election could be a pivotal moment for your investment strategy. Key Highlights: Housing Affordability Crisis: Bushy explains why housing affordability is such a mess, with property prices rising faster than wages, creating a perfect storm for investors. Labor’s Housing Solutions: The Australian Labor Party’s $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) promises 30,000 homes over five years but faces challenges. Also, the Home Guarantee Scheme and social housing push may provide opportunities but also bring inflationary pressures. Liberal-National Coalition’s Approach: The Coalition’s $5 billion infrastructure fund and reforms like tax-deductible mortgage repayments and APRA adjustments could stimulate housing supply and help first-home buyers. However, these policies risk pushing property prices higher and adding to demand. Greens’ Radical Policies: The Greens propose phasing out negative gearing, implementing rent controls, and building public housing. While aimed at affordability, these policies may inadvertently reduce housing supply and worsen the rental crisis. Bushy concludes by stressing the essential role of property investors in supplying rental housing and how misguided policies could push them out of the market, exacerbating the affordability issue. Takeaways: Whether you’re an investor or aspiring homebuyer, understanding the policy impacts is crucial. Bushy breaks it down so you can make an informed vote and position yourself for better investment outcomes, no matter who wins the election. Judge Hippler concluded that it is the jury's responsibility to evaluate the significance of D.M.'s testimony in determining whether Kohberger is the individual she encountered.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource041825+Order+on+Defendants+Motion+in+Limine+RE+Witness+Identification+by+Bushy+Eyebrows.pdf

In the latest pretrial rulings for Bryan Kohberger's upcoming murder trial, Judge Steven Hippler has made several key decisions. He ruled that testimony from a surviving roommate, who described seeing an intruder with "bushy eyebrows," is admissible. Despite the defense's objections regarding the reliability of this observation, the judge emphasized that the witness's account is consistent and relevant, allowing the jury to assess its credibility. Additionally, Judge Hippler permitted prosecutors to present evidence linking Kohberger to an Amazon purchase of a knife similar to the one believed to have been used in the crime, as well as surveillance footage of a vehicle matching his Hyundai Elantra. Conversely, the judge granted the defense's request to exclude emotionally charged terms like "psychopath" and "sociopath" from the trial proceedings.Regarding Kohberger's mental health, Judge Hippler decided that evidence of his autism spectrum disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder cannot be introduced to explain his courtroom demeanor unless he chooses to testify. The judge noted that Kohberger's behavior in court has been appropriate and that introducing such evidence without his testimony could confuse the jury. However, if Kohberger testifies, or if his mental health conditions become directly relevant to specific aspects of the case, the court may revisit this decision.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Idaho murders trial judge rules on Bryan Kohberger's autism defense and if roommate can say 'bushy eyebrows' | Daily Mail Online

The defense asserts that admitting such subjective identification could unfairly prejudice the jury and undermine Kohberger's right to a fair trial.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Ty ABecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

In the case of State v. Bryan Kohberger, the defense filed Motion in Limine #7, seeking to exclude witness identification based on the description of "bushy eyebrows." The defense argued that the surviving roommate's (identified as D.M.) description was unreliable due to her limited observation under distressing conditions, potential impairment from alcohol, and the generic nature of the "bushy eyebrows" characteristic, which could apply to many individuals. They contended that admitting this description could unfairly prejudice the jury against Kohberger. In response, the prosecution opposed the motion, asserting that D.M.'s consistent description of the intruder's "bushy eyebrows" was both relevant and reliable. They emphasized that D.M. consistently provided this specific detail across multiple interviews, and that such a distinctive feature could assist in identifying the perpetrator. The prosecution also highlighted that a photograph of Kohberger, taken shortly after the incident, depicted him with prominent eyebrows, supporting the witness's account. They argued that the determination of whether Kohberger's eyebrows match the description should be left to the jury.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:031725-States-Response-Defendants-MiL-7-RE-Witness-Identification-Bushy-Eyebrows.pdf

In the Bryan Kohberger trial, the defense has filed a Motion in Limine #7 seeking to exclude any witness testimony referencing "bushy eyebrows" as an identifying feature of the intruder. This motion specifically targets the anticipated testimony of a surviving roommate, referred to as "D.M.," who reportedly described the intruder as having "bushy eyebrows" during her initial interviews with law enforcement. The defense argues that such testimony is unreliable due to D.M.'s limited opportunity to observe the intruder, her potential impairment from alcohol consumption, and the vague nature of the description, which could apply to a vast number of individuals.Additionally, the defense contends that D.M.'s artwork, which emphasizes prominent eyebrows, may have influenced her recollection, further questioning the reliability of her identification. They assert that allowing such testimony would be more prejudicial than probative, potentially leading the jury to make improper associations based solely on the defendant's physical appearance.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protomail.comsource:022425-Defense-Motion-inLimine-7-RE-Witness-Identification-Bushy_Eyebrows.pdf
