Hey, No Problem Parents! Today's episode is all about becoming a more intentional and confident leader—both in your home and at work. Whether you're navigating challenging conversations with your kids, managing stress at the office, or balancing both worlds, learning how to respond instead of react can make all the difference. We're breaking down practical ways to lead with purpose, no matter where you are or who you're with. Joining us is Daniel Blackburn, an inspiring author, speaker, executive coach, and yoga therapist who understands the power of intentional leadership in every area of life. In this episode, Daniel shares his insights on: How to move from reacting to responding with intention and confidence, whether you're at home with your kids or leading a team at work. Practical steps to build intentional habits that can help you manage stress and stay grounded in the moment. How mindfulness and meditation can support you in finding that pause, allowing you to choose a more thoughtful and effective response. The connection between self-care and leadership, and why the way you treat yourself influences how you lead others. How intentional leadership improves mental and emotional well-being, creating healthier dynamics both at home and in the workplace. Tools to transform old, reaction-based behaviors into confident, purposeful actions that align with your values and goals. Daniel's unique blend of executive leadership experience and his background in yoga therapy brings a down-to-earth and practical perspective on leading with intention. The benefits of attachment parenting cannot be overstated. Securely attached kids are more confident, connected and more prepared to enter the world. They also tend to experience fewer health problems. But why?  Here to share more about the science behind attachment parenting and how we can raise confident connected children is Eli Harwood. Eli is a licensed therapist who lives in Colorado with her husband and three children. She's an expert on attachment theory and the author of Raising Securely Attached Kids, which will be available September 2024. She also loves playing dress up with her kids, obsessing about sourdough starter. And reminiscing about that one time, she won a set of globes as a Price Is Right contestant. The good news is that even if you haven't been parenting in a way that promotes attachment up to now, this process is flexible and ever changing. The best time to start is right now. Listen in to hear all of Eli's tips and tricks no matter the age of your children.  In this episode, we discuss:  What securely attached parenting is. How it benefits children throughout their lives. How you can cultivate it in your own home. We touch on highly sensitive children, how you can connect with them and help them to feel more seen and secure. Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!   Today's guests, Diane Dierks and Rick Voyles, co-hosts of the Co-Parent Dilemmas podcast, are experts in navigating the complexities of co-parenting, especially in high-conflict situations.   In each episode, they address pressing questions such as: What do you do when the other parent won't be flexible with the parenting schedule? How do you respond to a co-parent who is constantly blowing up your phone with texts? Is it really important to talk to your children when they are at the other parent's house? And what about the parent who won't share important information with you about the children? Do you give in to the other parent's antics or should you hold your ground?   There are at least two sides to every conflict, and when it's between divorced or separated parents, sparks can fly. Diane and Rick offer valuable insights into the benefits and risks of Letting Go vs. Holding On to the conflict in a variety of complex topics facing co-parents today.   DIANE DIERKS is a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as the executive director of the Center for Navigating Family Change (www.CNFC.org), a non-profit that provides court-ordered parenting education and co-parenting services to the state of Georgia. Welcome Back No-Problem Parents! Parenting an emotionally intense child can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling like you must constantly do more and be more just to get by. But what if there's a better way? My guest today is Samantha Moe and we're talking about the unique challenges of raising an intense child – from their heightened emotions to their strong-willed nature. You'll learn why traditional parenting strategies often fall short and leave you feeling drained and frustrated. Samantha Moe and Associates provides continuing education, advanced training, and parent coach certification for professionals who support intense kids and their families. There's nothing wrong with emotionally intense children; they just need a different approach to communication and parenting. Samantha believes when family service professionals, parents, and educators learn what's beneath challenging behaviors, they reduce defiance, tantrums, and anxiety… and increase peace, calm, and enjoyment for the whole household.   Did you hear yesterdays episode 257 on Mindfulness? It takes mindfulness, a different sort of communication, and practice to learn this positive approach – and Samantha's Mad to Glad program is going to teach you and the providers that care for your children how to reach your intense children.   Be sure to click the plus sign or follow button on the app you are listening to and get notified when Part 2 of our conversation publishes. In part 2  we discuss that feeling of defeat both for parents and professionals and, how professionals can effectively support families of intense children.   Register for Samantha's Free Professional Skills Webinar on February 17, 2024 If you are interested in becoming the parent support go-to in your school, email Samantha: hello@Samanthamoe.com   DIY Mad to Glad Online Parenting Registration Link Learn more about Samantha by clicking on the links below: Website: https://samanthamoe.com/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/mad2glad Freebie: Make it Better   __________________________________________________________________________________   Parenting is a journey with its ups and downs. Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!   Welcome to another Self-Care Sunday on the No Problem Parenting podcast. Today, we're talking all things hugs – done right they do wonders for our well-being and our connection with our kids. How many hugs to you get and give on a daily basis?    Three benefits of a hug: Immune Booster Hugs boost our immune system.  The pressure of a hug stimulates the thymus gland, regulating white blood cell production and keeping you healthy. Hugs also balance your nervous system, increasing circulation and promoting a sense of balance between the fight/flight/freeze and rest and digest responses. Hugs help increase circulation and help balance our sympathetic (fight/flight/freeze) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems.   Emotional Nourishment Hugs go beyond the physical – they provide emotional nourishment too. Boosting oxytocin levels, hugs alleviate feelings of loneliness and anger. Sharing a hug is a shared experience, creating a sense of belonging. Hugs increase your feelings of safety. Hugs emotionally “feed” us, help us remember that we're not alone, and help us feel more trust with others. Have you noticed how relaxed and calm you feel after a hug?  It's a reminder that we're not alone, and together, we can face any challenge. Hugs increase your feelings of belonging. They boost oxytocin levels, which heal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger. Hugging is a shared experience: you're both giving and receiving affection.   Self-Esteem Hug Extended hugs, those lasting 20 seconds or more, are like a serotonin boost for your mood. They increase feelings of self-esteem, importance, and self-love. Remember the warmth you felt as a child when your parents looked at you with affection? Hugs recreate that sense of being seen and loved.   Remember the goal is oxytocin and serotonin release,  hugs are not just physical gestures; they're powerful tools for our overall health and connection. So, if you haven't already, intentionally create times in your day to your kids, partner and yourself, and let the healing power of hugs bring joy and calm into your day. Notice the change in your mood and well-being and the changes in your kids and teens.   Thank you for tuning in to the No Problem Parenting podcast.   Be sure to subscribe for more valuable insights and grab your free PDFs below.
