Hey there, travel hackers! In today's episode, we're diving headfirst into World of Hyatt's Globalist status. It's no secret that we have a bit of a love affair with Hyatt's loyalty program, and in this episode, we're spilling all the details on why this particular status holds a special place in our travel-hacking hearts. What exactly is Hyatt Globalist status, and why are we so enamored with it? Simply put, it's the pinnacle of Hyatt's loyalty program, offering a plethora of benefits that can transform a regular hotel stay into a luxury experience. From free breakfasts for the entire family to room upgrades and late checkouts, the perks are generous and can add significant value to your travels. But let's talk about how one earns this coveted status. The traditional route requires either 60 qualifying nights at Hyatt properties or accumulating 100,000 base points. However, let's not overlook the power of Hyatt credit cards in this equation. These cards can significantly lower the barrier to achieving Globalist status by offering qualifying nights as part of their benefits. During our episode, we shared our personal experiences with Hyatt Globalist status and how we've leveraged credit card spending, strategic booking, and even the occasional 'mattress run' to maintain our status. Whether it's the little things like enjoying a peaceful breakfast with our families or the luxury of sprawling out in a suite upgrade, these experiences have solidified our loyalty to Hyatt. But here's a crucial point: while we're huge proponents of Hyatt Globalist status, it may not be the right fit for everyone. It all boils down to how often you travel and where you stay. If your travel style aligns with what Hyatt offers, then pursuing Globalist status can be incredibly rewarding. This episode wasn't just about sharing our tips and tricks; it's about showing you the potential of travel hacking and how it can unlock experiences you might have thought were out of reach. If you're intrigued and want to dive deeper into Hyatt Globalist status, hit play to listen to the full episode. When presented with a negative, search for a way to change it to a positive. Find something about the situation that you can appreciate and avoid negative thoughts. You have to alternate your thought process and face your challenges in a different way. Approach every failure as a learning experience. Frank continues to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a Wish Ambassador and keynote speaker across the United States. In this episode, Frank challenges us to change the way we approach negative situations in our lives. Talking Out Your Glass podcast

“An authentic art survives stylistic evolutions over time to become a benchmark of art history. In this regard, I believe historians will judge Scott Parsons’ work as being authentic, original, and (most importantly) a contribution to the historical trajectory of stained glass in architecture.” Kenneth von Roenn  Scott Parsons: Sacramental Imagination Applying his graphic arts talent to the world of stained glass, Scott Parsons designed 26 stained glass windows created in three series for Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Foxfield, Colorado. Fabricated by Derix Glasstudio, Taunusstein, Gemany, these windows redefined the roles of both the artisans making the work as well as the new technologies and materials used in their creation. Through imagery not from stained glass tradition but rather a contemporary sensitivity and visual language common to our time, Parsons expresses what he calls sacramental imagination - a dimension beyond our perceived reality.  “I am inspired by the idea of place, of defining a space with a sensitivity that can transform, celebrate, and engage the redemptive qualities of metaphor for the profoundly personal and communal in people’s lives.” An international award-winning artist, Parsons earned his MFA in Studio Art, magna cum laude, from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1990. In addition to teaching printmaking and drawing as a professor of art at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he has completed numerous public art commissions across the United States and Canada. His work, which has been reviewed in Architectural Record, Sculpture, Art in America, Stained Glass Quarterly, Public Art Review, and Faith & Form, includes Percent for Art and private commissions for churches, museums, research facilities, university buildings and transportation centers. Parsons has received five Faith & Form Awards for Liturgical Art and three CoD+A (Collaboration of Design and Art) Top 100 Projects Awards. In 2002, his terrazzo floor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, titled Algorithmic Tapestry, was recognized by Art in America as one of the most significant works of public art in the United States. In 2014, Parsons received two Honor Awards in Religious Arts: Visual Arts from the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art, and Architecture (IFRAA) for his Our Lady of Loreto windows. The artist has also received multiple National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association Honor Awards for his designs in those mediums.  After serving on the Faith & Form jury this summer in Charlotte, North Carolina, Parsons currently is at work on new windows for La Casa, in Paradise Valley, Arizona, which will be installed next month. His list of upcoming commissions includes 15 Stations of the Cross mosaic panels for Saint Michaels in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; glass designs for a church in Kentucky; mosaics for a church in Missouri; and terrazzo for the airports in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Talking Out Your Glass podcast

Sarah Hall has refined a unique and hi tech approach to architectural glass that gifts the world with both beauty and power. Through the use of photovoltaic cells that convert solar energy into electricity, Hall’s windows can store sunlight by day to backlight the glass by night. They can also produce clean electricity that feeds directly into their respective buildings’ energy systems. Though designing with photovoltaic cells introduces some challenges, Hall moves viewers through her stunning mastery of light and color.   Hall designs large-scale solar and art glass projects for clients around the world including embassies, cathedrals, schools, universities, and colleges. These include Waterglass at Enwave Theatre at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre; Lux Gloria at the Cathedral of the Holy Family in Saskatoon; Lux Nova wind tower at the University of British Colombia; Leaves of Light for the Life Sciences Building at York University in Toronto; and The Science of Light at Grass Valley Elementary School in Washington State. Having studied at Sheridan College in Ontario, Hall continued her education in the Architectural Glass Department at Swansea College of Art in Wales, UK. Her exceptional contribution to the built environment has resulted in Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects and the Allied Arts Award from the Ontario Association of Architects. Hall’s artistic achievements were acknowledged by her induction into the Royal Canadian Academy of Art in 2002. An Arts Fellowship from the Chalmers Foundation in 2005 supported her innovative work in BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) solar art glass.   In 2016, Hall’s autonomous glass was featured in the exhibition International Panorama of Contemporary Glass-Art, held at the Centre International du Vitrail in Chartres, France. In addition to projects, lectures, and exhibitions throughout North America and Europe, Hall has co-authored 35 articles on glass art and published three books: The Color of Light (1999); Windows on Our Souls (2007) with Bob Shantz; and Transfiguring Prairie Skies (2012) with Donald Bolen. Her work was the subject of J S Porter’s volume, The Glass Art of Sarah Hall, as well as the CBC documentary series, “Great Minds of Design.” She is presently working on a large format retrospective book of her work entitled:  A Thousand Colours – Sarah Hall Glass.   Through her glass designs, Hall currently explores ways to generatepower and save birds simultaneously. She endeavors to create colored, transparent solar panels that will not only help power the buildings they cover, but also prevent birds from colliding with glass.
