It's kinda wild for me to think about the fact that -- two years ago -- I was publishing Episode #40 (w/Tomaski), and here we are...turning the final-chapter pages of 2024. I think that they call it, "Q2" in the corporate world, but it's the final period of our calendar year, here in Humansville. And what a fun ride it's been.David Kaufman joined me for Episode #140, and he did not disappoint.David's over on the 'Gram with the @davesthename handle. He's a camera operator and an editor. There's a great piece about him over on boldjourney.com, if you wanna check that out, and -- perhaps of greater importance...his stuff's also at theoutriders.com. David and I talked about family, education, careers, music, and a ton more, but we also had a brief look at a few of his favorite albums, which were these:How I Spent My Summer Vacation (2001), The Bouncing SoulsThe Red Hot Chili Peppers' By the Way (2002)Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City (2012), Kendrick LamarPleased, then, to be consuming the content. You guys are great.Cheers.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the audio samples contained within this episode. …or How I Spent My Summer Vacation. For the last five episodes of the podcast, we've been sharing new versions of some of our most-downloaded episodes from the past four years. As we come to the end of our Summer Lovin' series, I am reflecting on what I've learned over the past few months. This summer, I took some time to think about the future direction of the Go Pitch Yourself podcast, so I also share my thoughts around that, alongside some of the trends I've been noticing in the podcasting space. However, if you have a topic around podcast guesting or hosting (or both) that you would like me to cover, reach out to me on LinkedIn @angietrueblood. Topics covered include: How I tend to overcomplicate things - can you relate?! What I noticed about podcast listening and production over the summer months Should it be the podcast guest's job to grow the host's show? A personal example about the power and value of connections made through guesting on podcasts Hints of some of our upcoming topics, and how you can get involved Full show notes and resources: https://www.thepodwizegroup.com/summer-recap

Get The Gringo and Rambo: Last Blood director, Adrian Grünberg joins the Movies In Focus podcast to talk about his new film,The Black Demon. The killer shark movie stars Josh Lucas as an oil company employee struggling to protect his family from a megalodon shark after they become stranded on a disused oil rig. An entertaining horror-thriller, The Black Demon plays around with the genre's tropes, as well as adding a little bit of mysticism into the plot. Films like Get The Gringo (also known as How I Spent My Summer Vacation) and Rambo: Last Blood show that Adrian Grünberg is a very earthbound director and during this episode he talks about how The Black Demon was a change of pace due to its special effects and aquatic location. He also discusses what it's like making a genre film, facing the looming shadow of Jaws during production - and burgundy shirts!
