Here we are with our 1995 end-of-year-recap! In this episode, the first of two, we are running through the bottom halfs of both our Top Ten album lists of the year. And it was a tough one whittling it down to a mere 10 records this year - as we discuss there were in the region of around 250 albums that came out that are worth considering which is frankly insane. But we managed to do it and here we get into the likes of Clutch, Low, Leftfield and Rancid among others. We also hear from some of Dave's stand-up comedian buddies letting us know what their favourites are as well so big thanks to Phil Nichol, Tal Davies and Jason Patterson for allowing Dave to bully them into recording something for us at a show. The next episode will finish off our Top Tens and reveal what our absolute favourite albums of the year are so stay tuned...

This is a story about how a bad jar of peanut butter reminded me of some basic life lessons. The ones we say we know but don't implement.  It is like when Cab Calloway sings St. James Infirmary Blues.  Cab gets ahold of a note and pitches it to the heavens before bringing back to earth. St. Louis writer Devin O'Shea's debut book "The Veiled Prophet: Secret Societies, White Supremacy, and the Struggle for St. Louis" takes readers inside the mysteries of the Veiled Prophet Society, a group that's maintained influence over St. Louis institutions since its founding in 1878. Today, the group lives on as VP St. Louis. Its leaders are behind the non-profit Celebrate Saint Louis and “America's Birthday Parade,” an event that is returning to St. Louis this weekend after taking last year off.  Jib Machine Records is pleased to announce that its kicking off 2026 with some exciting news. Signed with Jib Machine since 2021, one of punk music's most notorious bands, Nihilistics, are featured in the new multi-CD release, “CBGB – A New York city Soundtrack 1975-1986”. The project is out now via Cherry Red Records and features their song “You're To Blame”. The four-piece hardcore band, comprised of Ron Rancid, Ajax Lepinksi, Joe Dread and Troy, first took on the New York scene in 1979. Among the band's more notorious live concerts, are their first-ever gig that resulted in Rancid's arrest. The legend grew and from there the band gigged at the famed CBGB and a slew of other Manhattan clubs followed, as did several albums to their name.
