Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0KIn this segment of Notorious Mass Effect, Analytic Dreamz explores the artist background of Tame Impala, the psychedelic rock/psych-pop project led by Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. Since 2008, Parker has written, produced, and performed most material solo under the Tame Impala moniker. The sound evolution traces from garage-psych roots on Innerspeaker (2010), to polished pop-infused textures on Currents (2015), groove/pop hybridization on The Slow Rush (2020), and the latest genre blend of psychedelic, disco, house, and pop on Deadbeat, released October 17, 2025. Deadbeat debuted at #4 on Billboard 200, #4 on Official U.K. Albums Chart, and #2 on ARIA Chart.Tame Impala boasts numerous Grammys, ARIA, APRA Awards, and one BRIT Award, with massive streaming success—e.g., “The Less I Know the Better” exceeding 2.2B Spotify streams—yet waited nearly two decades for a first Hot 100 entry.Focus shifts to standout single “Dracula,” released September 26, 2025, as the third from Deadbeat. This third single delivers a bouncy, disco-leaning groove with a “party-until-dawn” narrative using vampire metaphors for nightlife embrace. Praised for its infectious groove, earworm chorus, and Halloween-adjacent energy, it drew mixed reviews (e.g., Medium 6.5/10) but strong community response in outlets like Atwood Magazine.“Dracula” marked Tame Impala's breakthrough: first Billboard Hot 100 entry debuting at #55 (October 2025), peaking at #30; #1 on Alternative Airplay (January 2026, returned #1 February 7 chart); #2 Adult Alternative Airplay; #23 Rock & Alternative Airplay. It ranked #3 in Triple J Hottest 100 (2025), amassed ~221M Spotify streams by February 2026, with debut week U.S. metrics of 6.5M streams, 1.7M radio impressions, and 1K digital sales. It peaked Top 40 on UK Singles Chart over 16 weeks. An early February 2026 remix featuring BLACKPINK's JENNIE added new vocal layers, verse content, and lyric nods to Parker, blending K-pop with psych-pop. Released post-Parker's JENNIE merch sighting at the February 1, 2026 Grammys—where Tame Impala won Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “End Of Summer” (second consecutive in category)—the remix boosted visibility, demographic reach, and chart momentum, sparking follow-up Hot 100 entries like “Loser” (#91) and “My Old Ways” (#56).Analytic Dreamz analyzes “Dracula” as a streaming-driven radio crossover, U.S. chart gateway, and cross-genre platform linking psych-pop and K-pop ecosystems, reinforcing Parker's hybrid legacy amid a 2026 European tour (April 4–May 13, covering major markets like Madrid, Paris, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Dublin).Tune in for in-depth insights on Tame Impala's evolution, breakthrough success, and strategic significance in modern music.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/exclusive-contentPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Rick Marshall, #1 waterfront specialist with McGraw Realtors, shares an end-of-summer real estate update for Hot Springs Village, and he answers some audience questions, too. What can you tell us about the school systems - Jessieville and Fountain Lake? What help might a realtor provide for adult children who need to relocate our parents? We don't live in HSV and need to move them closer to us, but we're overwhelmed with the house and all the stuff. We've been searching online for a house that's suitable for us (husband and wife) and my mother. So far, nothing seems quite right. Does HSV allow ADUs? NOTE: ADU stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit, which is a self-contained, independent living unit located on the same property as the primary residence. I'm worried about the condition of roofs because I hear that it really impacts homeowners' insurance. As a buyer, what should I do to ensure I don't make a mistake that could cost me? My husband and I are willing to consider a fixer-upper, but we have concerns about the availability of good remodel help. Can you provide any insights on that? We've seen (online) some older houses that look like they need a ton of work, but the lot seems very lovely. Are people demo'ing houses and completely rebuilding? Episode 190: End of Summer Special 2025 (Part 2) – The Alarm & Duran Duran Brian and Sarah are back and ready to continue their discussion of a couple of ‘summery' songs, as the summer draws closer to an end in the Northern Hemisphere. (For those in the Southern Hemisphere, maybe think of this as a summer preview!) As in the previous episode, the first song selection comes from Sarah. She chose the 1987 single “Rain in the Summertime” by The Alarm. This song was released in advance of The Alarm's third studio album “Eye of the Hurricane,” which Sarah explains was a tumultuous period in the band's history. She recounts stories of the song's creation and recording which expose some of the difficulties with and among bandmates. However, the anecdotes also reveal some surprising uses of computer technology for the time. Both hosts mention comparisons and similarities between The Alarm and U2, even down to the desert setting of this song's video. In discussing the video, Sarah can't help but bring up a pet peeve of hers when watching movies—a phenomenon Brian says is often identified with the classic film “Casablanca.” After wrapping up the discussion on Sarah's song, it's time for Brian to reveal his second selection. He chose the 1990 single from Duran Duran, “Violence of Summer (Love's Taking Over).” With his selection, Brian shares a “hot take”-- his great love of the 1990 album Liberty. He confesses this love caused his research for the song to stray into research for the entire album, which he then had to reign in. However, since he did take the time and effort to do the work, he decides to share a few tidbits regarding Liberty as well. 1990 was an interesting time for Duran Duran—the band's lineup had changed yet again, and they were in kind of a limbo period compared to the widespread popularity and exposure they experienced in the first half of the 1980s. Brian reveals some thoughts Simon LeBon shared about Liberty and its place in the Duran Duran catalog, and both hosts talk about highlights on the album. The discussion of the video for “Violence of Summer (Love's Taking Over)” finds Sarah rather confused about what she's seeing, at least some of the time. Brian brings up a funny story about the frequently-shirtless Warren Cuccurullo and how that affected the rest of the band. And Brian is thrilled when Sarah references Dead or Alive! Episode 189: End of Summer Special 2025 (Part 1) - The Power Station & Bananarama In the United States, the Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. Brian and Sarah just aren't ready to say goodbye to summer yet, so over the holiday weekend, they recorded a couple of episodes featuring songs that invoke the feeling of summer. Each episode in this mini-series will feature one song chosen by Brian and one chosen by Sarah. The first song up for discussion is the only one without the word “Summer” in the title. However, there's no question that it makes you think of summer and other sultry situations. Sarah selected the 1985 hit “Some Like It Hot” from supergroup The Power Station. Sarah shares chart information and reviews for the song, and she also explains the origin of the supergroup and the recording of the song. Brian is quite enthusiastic about Sarah's choice and shares memories of purchasing the album on cassette and watching the video for “Some Like It Hot” many times back in the day. As discussion turns to the video, both hosts can't contain their amusement at some of the promo's elements; Sarah even provides a bulleted list of the more notable features. To wrap up the discussion on “Some Like It Hot,” Sarah shares a bit of ‘extra credit' information about the song's use in some network television promotions, back in 1985 but also in the 2020s! Then it's time to move on to Brian's selection. His choice is “Cruel Summer” by British girl group Bananarama (NOT a certain American solo artist). Brian also provides ‘the usual' information such as chart positions, reviews, the writing and recording of the song, and his personal history. Discussion of the “Cruel Summer” video reveals a common thread—or should we say line?—between the songs in this episode: cocaine! There's also a brief James Bond reference made, although it's from Sarah, rather than Brian! The episode wraps up with Brian sharing a recent review, which are always read aloud on the show, and always very much appreciated by both hosts. Okay actors, here it is—your end-of-summer pep talk. I don't know how we got here so fast, but summer's basically over and it's time to stop stalling. Time to get your act together. In this episode, I'm giving it to you straight. Yes, I even drop a few swear words, because honestly, sometimes that's what it takes to shake things up. I'll share the story of Bowie the cat (our very cautious little housemate) and how it perfectly connects to where so many of you are stuck in your careers. The question is: are you going to stay scared Bowie… or step up and be brave Bowie? And I'm not just talking theory here. I'm breaking down the exact things that matter most right now: your resume, your headshots, your reels, your website, and the way you correspond with agents and casting directors. These are the details that decide whether we keep looking at you—or hit delete in under three seconds. What You'll Take Away Why being “brave Bowie” matters more than you think The three pillars of Acting Business Boot Camp: training, business skills, and mindset work How to make your resume speak the “Language of Agents and Casting Directors” What your headshots and reels are really saying about you Why your emails to agents and CDs often get ignored (and how to fix it) The one website mistake that can literally cost you a job Why being 98% committed isn't enough—and how going all in changes everything My Challenge to You If you're serious about becoming a working actor, you don't have to do this alone. That's what I built Acting Business Boot Camp for: to give you structure, tools, and support from someone who knows this industry inside and out. So here's my offer: book a free 15-minute consultation with me. Let's see where you're stuck, what's holding you back, and how to get your act together once and for all. If you've worked with me before and feel like you need a reset, click the link in the show notes and let's reconnect. If this is your first step, perfect. Let's get started. Ready? Let's Do This Click the link in the show notes to grab your free consultation. Because you don't want to spend the next season of your career like scared Bowie, hiding in the corner. You want to be the one who finally steps out, explores the whole house, and discovers just how good it feels to be brave. About Me I'm Peter Pamela Rose, a casting director and certified life and career coach. Through Acting Business Boot Camp, I help actors cut through the noise, build confidence, and create careers that actually work. Every week, I share real tools, mindset coaching, and industry insights to get you from feeling stuck to becoming a working actor.

The "End of Summer Development" for basketball players typically refers to a crucial period where athletes aim to consolidate gains made over the summer and prepare for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, which often include tryouts, practices, and games. This phase is characterized by a strategic shift in training focus, moving from broad summer conditioning to more specific, basketball-centric preparation. Here's a breakdown of common elements in an End of Summer Development plan: 1. Skill Refinement and Integration: * Drill Work: Intensified focus on fundamental skills like shooting form, dribbling control, passing accuracy, and defensive footwork. This often involves high-repetition drills to build muscle memory. * Game-Situational Drills: Transitioning from isolated skill work to drills that mimic in-game scenarios (e.g., 3-on-3 full-court, 5-on-5 half-court with specific offensive/defensive objectives). This helps players apply skills under pressure and improve decision-making. * Weakness Identification & Improvement: Players and coaches should identify individual weaknesses observed during the summer (e.g., left-hand dribbling, free throw shooting, defensive closeouts) and dedicate specific time to improving these areas. 2. Physical Preparation and Conditioning: * Sport-Specific Conditioning: Moving away from general aerobic conditioning to more basketball-specific bursts of activity, including sprints, suicides, plyometrics (box jumps, hurdle hops), and agility drills (cone drills, ladder drills). The goal is to improve anaerobic capacity and the ability to perform repeated high-intensity efforts. * Strength Maintenance/Peak: Maintaining the strength gains made during earlier summer weight training. The focus might shift from heavy lifting to more power-based exercises or reducing volume slightly to allow for recovery while maintaining strength. * Injury Prevention: Increased emphasis on flexibility, mobility, and pre-habilitation exercises to prevent common basketball injuries. This includes dynamic warm-ups, static stretches, foam rolling, and targeted exercises for joints like ankles, knees, and shoulders. 3. Mental Preparation and Strategy: * Basketball IQ Development: Watching film (both personal and professional), discussing strategies, understanding offensive sets and defensive schemes. * Mental Toughness: Developing resilience, focus, and the ability to perform under pressure. This can involve competitive drills, challenging conditioning sessions, and visualization techniques. * Team Dynamics (if applicable): If a player is already with a team, this period might involve team-building activities, early practices focused on establishing team chemistry, and introducing basic offensive/defensive principles. 4. Recovery and Nutrition: * As training intensity increases, proper recovery becomes even more critical. This includes adequate sleep, active recovery sessions, and proper nutrition to fuel workouts and aid muscle repair. Hydration is also paramount. Why is End of Summer Development Important? Bridge to Season: It serves as a crucial bridge between the less structured summer training and the demanding in-season schedule. Peak Performance: Helps players reach peak physical and mental condition just in time for tryouts and the start of competitive play. Injury Reduction: Proper conditioning and preparation reduce the risk of early-season injuries. Confidence Building: Mastering skills and feeling physically ready boosts a player's confidence entering the new season. In essence, the "End of Summer Development" is about putting all the pieces together – refining skills, peaking physical conditioning, and sharpening mental focus – to ensure a player is fully prepared to perform at their best when it matters most.
