Ian O'Doherty started his journalistic career with Hot Press who were badly in need of new talent for their football team. From there he got a front page story on the Irish Press, moved to the Herald and is now a regular columnist for the Irish Independent. His opinions have been controversial and divisive, and we chat about his life as a writer, his distaste for certain aspects of the media, his love of dogs, and whether he has any regrests about certain columns as somebody whose job demands that he provoke a reaction. Solo artist Ian O'Doherty hails from the Kingdom (Tralee Co. Kerry).
