Chris Boyer and Reed Smith walk through why the gap is structural rather than a marketing problem, then close with David Middendorf at Monigle on what Volume 9 actually says about where consumers are right now. Why engagement in health and engagement with healthcare have decoupled, and what the avoidance number among the most engaged segment actually means The structural reasons the operating model can't win this space, from P&L logic to service-line measurement to where wellness programs sit on the org chart The DTC and subscription brands that took categories that used to be referrals inside a health system, and built continuous relationships around them Why a majority of consumers now believe a technology company is more likely to revolutionize healthcare than a traditional system or provider Trust, local knowledge, the provider relationship, the clinical record, and what it would take to actually deploy those as competitive advantages David Middendorf on the "window not a wave" framing, AI as connective tissue for what Monigle calls a Living System of Experiences, and the three keys to the future: listening, personalization, wellness David Middendorf leads the Humanizing Brand Experience research at Monigle. Volume 9 is the ninth annual installment of the firm's flagship study of healthcare consumer behavior. He joins the show to walk through what the new data is saying and what health system brand and experience leaders should do about it. If your strategy deck still treats the space between sick visits as future state, the disruption has already happened and you missed it. The national carrier's revealed its looking at staff redundancies and more flight reductions due to the surging cost of jet fuel. It's now forecasting a full-year pre-tax loss of up to $390 million. Nikhil Ravishankar told Mike Hosking run rates won't get worse, but fluctuating jet fuel prices will keep weighing on the airline's financial results. He says fuel dropping from $200 to $150 is helpful, but it's not down enough considering normal prices are around $85. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alex Langer, President and CEO of Sierra Madre Gold And Silver (TSXV: SM) (OTCQX: SMDRF), joins me to provide an operations and financial update La Guitarra silver-gold mine complex in Mexico, which includes 3 producing mines:  La Guitarra, Coloso, and Nazareno.   We also discuss the increase to 30,000 meters of drilling across the La Guitarra property, and an increase to 50,000 meters of drilling at the Del Toro property starting once the transaction closes in the near future; for a total of 80,000 meters of drilling on tap across all properties.   Full Year 2025 Highlights   Revenues: Gross silver revenues for 2025 totaled $10.68 million ($39.37 per ounce) and gross gold revenues totaled $13.77 million ($3,407 per ounce). Sales: During 2025, the Company sold 271,204 ounces of silver ("Ag") and 4,041 ounces of gold ("Au") or 628,196 silver equivalent ("AgEq") ounces, based on the ratio of Au and Ag prices realized for each shipment in the year. Cash Costs: For 2025, cash costs were $27.90 per AgEq ounce sold Net Income: Net income was $8.13 million or $0.05 per share for 2025. Included in net income for 2025 is a $6.1 million income tax recovery. Cash from Operations: The Company generated $4.09 million of cash from operating activities in 2025. Adjusted EBITDA increased to $6.03 million for 2025 Cash and cash equivalents and short-term investments at December 31, 2025 totalled $17.3 million. Del Toro Acquisition and Financing: In December 2025, the Company announced its intention to acquire the Del Toro silver mine from First Majestic Silver Corp. and complete a concurrent financing, which subsequently closed in escrow for gross proceeds of CAD$57.5 million. La Guitarra Expansion: As announced on September 8, 2025, the Company has initiated a plan to expand production capacity at Guitarra in a two-phase program, with the first phase anticipated for completion by the end of Q2 2026, with the aim to increase name plate capacity from 500 tonnes per day ("tpd") to a range of 750 tpd - 800 tpd and the second phase anticipated for completion by Q3 2027, with the aim of increasing the capacity to a range of 1,200 tpd - 1,500 tpd at La Guitarra. Closed C$19.5M Private Placement: In July 2025, the Company closed a C$19.5 million brokered private placement. The key participants in the financing were Franklin Templeton, Eric Sprott and Commodity Capital, with strong participation by the management of the Company. First Majestic Loan Payment: On February 5, 2026, the Company made a principal payment of $2.5 million on the $5 million senior secured project financing loan with First Majestic. Sierra Madre Named as a 2026 Top 50 Company by the TSX Venture Exchange: As announced on February 18, 2026, Sierra Madre was named a 2026 TSX Venture Top 50 Company, recognized for its 264% share price appreciation and 342% market cap growth in 2025.   The first stage of the expansion currently underway at the La Guitarra plant will increase production rates from the current 500 tonnes per day (“tpd”) to 750 tpd to 800 tpd of processing capacity; with a goal to get that completed by June or July of this summer. Processing plant and tailings handling upgrades and equipment purchases for the planned production expansion have been underway and are mostly installed.  Once the first stage of the expansion is completed, the planned second phase would increase processing capacity to a range of 1,200 tpd to 1,500 tpd by Q3 2027; essentially doubling production capacity once again.   Beyond the production growth, we also focus on the substantial exploration programs planned for the 2nd half of this year both district-scale land packages.   There are 30,000 meters of drilling planned at the La Guitarra complex; and Alex points out that having their own assay lab should allow the company to quickly react to incoming assays at La Guitarra, going from 20 holes, to 40 holes, and then eventually 80 holes. After the acquisition transaction closes on the Del Toro Silver Mine complex in the Chalchihuites District in Mexico from First Majestic Silver Corp., then there is a 50,000 meter drill program on tap. The goal of this program will be testing a number of high-priority targets and growing existing resources to extend the mine life for when a restart decision is made on these 3 mines and the 3,000 tpd plant.       If you have any questions for Alex regarding Sierra Madre Gold and Silver, then please email them to me at either Shad@kereport.com.   In full disclosure, Shad is a shareholder of Sierra Madre Gold and Silver and may choose to buy or sell shares at any time.   Click here to follow along with the latest news from Sierra Madre Gold & Silver   For more market commentary & interview summaries, subscribe to our Substacks:   The KE Report: https://kereport.substack.com/ Shad's resource market commentary: https://excelsiorprosperity.substack.com/     Investment disclaimer: This content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. In the past few days, MrBeast, the king of YouTube chaos, has unleashed what could be his most audacious challenge yet, grabbing headlines worldwide for its sheer extremity. According to Times of India, his latest video, posted April 18, started as a classic last-to-leave grocery store showdown for $250,000, but after 67 grueling days, the final four contestants refused to quit, forcing Beast to pivot dramatically. He upped the stakes to a jaw-dropping $1 million team effort: eat every single item in the massive supermarket, potentially stretching the ordeal to a full year isolated from the outside world. AS reports contestants, including one who ditched thoughts of his wife and kids for the prize, agreed despite the madness, with Beast sweetening the deal via beds, showers, a personal trainer, and nutritionist on site.Unilad Tech highlights the family separation angle, noting social media buzz on X where fans marveled at the twist, calling it a first for MrBeast modifying mid-challenge due to unbreakable wills. This could etch itself into his biography as a pinnacle of endurance spectacle, rivaling his survival stunts and signaling his empire's evolution toward even riskier, collaborative epics. No major public appearances or business deals popped in the last 24 hours, but YouTube commentary like "What MrBeast just did...will reset YouTube" hails it as a content revolution, blending live streams into shorts and long-form gold to dominate algorithms.Speculation swirls online about psychological tolls and dropout risks, but verified sources confirm the contestants' buy-in, underscoring Beast's genius for turning defiance into viral fuel. www.marktreichel.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-treichel/In this episode, Mark Treichel walks through the full-year 2025 CAMEL code data across all four quarters, providing a comprehensive analysis of where the industry stands and what the numbers mean for credit unions at every asset tier. The episode opens with context: in September 2024, then-National Credit Union Administration Chairman Todd Harper sounded a public alarm after the number of complex credit unions — those over $500 million in assets — coded at CAMEL four or five tripled in a single quarter. That alarm set the benchmark for evaluating 2025's results.Mark frames the analysis around three perspectives: the glass half full (optimistic), the glass half empty (skeptical), and the base case (pragmatic). He works through the data at an industry level before breaking it down by asset tier, where a more complicated picture emerges.Key findings include: the overall improvement in code four and five counts; a significant reduction in dollar exposure in troubled institutions; the resolution of Harper's specific alarm as the complex credit union count returned to seven at year-end; and the Q2 2025 anomaly, where the code three count fell but assets in that bucket jumped by $25 billion — illustrating how quickly the composition of a tier can shift even when the headline count moves in the right direction.A critical section covers the mid-size tier — $100 million to $500 million in assets — where 2025 produced almost no improvement. Code fours and fives in that range actually ticked upward. Mark explains the particular pressures mid-size institutions face and why the headline numbers can obscure their reality. The episode also addresses the National Credit Union Administration's staffing situation in depth: a 27% reduction in force, a shift in exam cycle requirements from mandates to goals, and the quiet update to the National Supervision Policy Manual extending exam cycles for larger institutions. Mark raises a pointed question: do the CAMEL code improvements reflect genuine rehabilitation, or do they partly reflect an agency adjusting to resource constraints? The episode closes with practical guidance for what to do based on your CAMEL code, and a look ahead to 2026 — including the hiring freeze, rising delinquency trends, and potential leadership changes at the agency. Topics Covered:•        The Harper Alarm: context from September 2024 and how 2025 resolved it•        Full-year CAMEL code trends across all five quarter-ends•        Asset tier breakdown: $500M+, $100M–$500M, and under $100M•        The Q2 2025 anomaly: count down, dollar exposure up•        National Credit Union Administration staffing: 27% reduction, exam cycle changes, and the truth-in-coding question•        Glass half full: genuine improvements and the resolution of the Harper alarm•        Glass half empty: uneven distribution, merger effects, and delinquency trends•        The base case: what every credit union should do based on its CAMEL code•        What to watch in 2026

How Optimum Nutrition & ISOPURE Plan to Dominate Sports Nutrition | Glanbia Full-Year 2025 Update

the Joshua Schall Audio Experience

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 26, 2026 16:47

If Glanbia wanted to further increase Optimum Nutrition and ISOPURE brand household penetration, should it focus more on brand marketing or production innovation? Glanbia Plc (LON:GLB) is a multibillion-dollar global nutrition company that's currently comprised of three divisions that span across the B2B supply chain (i.e. Health & Nutrition and Dairy Nutrition) and branded products (Performance Nutrition). “Health & Nutrition” is a leading global ingredients solutions business, providing value added ingredient and flavor solutions to a range of attractive, high-growth end markets. In 2025, revenue was $629 million, which increased by 11.5% YoY. “Dairy Nutrition” is the number one producer of whey protein isolate…and provides a wide range of dairy and functional protein solutions. In 2025, revenue was $1.52 billion, which increased by 2.8%. The brands in the Glanbia Performance Nutrition portfolio include; Optimum Nutrition, BSN, think!, ISOPURE, and Amazing Grass. In 2025, Glanbia Performance Nutrition revenue was $1.8 billion, which decreased 0.9% YoY. Additionally, I'll dive deeper into Glanbia Performance Nutrition geographical, sales channel, product format, and categorial performance. As part of the branded products portfolio part of the group-wide transformation program announced last November, Glanbia completed the sale of SlimFast and Body & Fit. Optimum Nutrition, which was the initial M&A transaction in 2008 that created the GPN division, now represents 75% of the total revenue. In 2025, Optimum Nutrition generated revenue of approximately $1.35 billion. The other largest GPN brand is ISOPURE, which is a premium high-protein, low-carb brand grounded in purity. And I've loudly proclaimed for several years that “ISOPURE had arguably the largest untapped upside of the entire GPN portfolio.” In fact, I've said it had billion-dollar global brand potential. But with the two largest brands within GPN growing in 2025, what must be solved for Optimum Nutrition and ISOPURE to reach their greatest ambition level. Therefore, our examination will focus on household penetration, as it's often used as a key performance indicator that helps quantify brand health and growth opportunities for CPG brands. Essentially, higher household penetration proves velocity, making retailers more likely to stock a brand, thus increasing all commodity volume, while selling more items to these new households increases total distribution points. Moreover, product innovation and brand marketing act as the "fuel" to this “primary growth engine," accelerating the relationship between household penetration, ACV, and TDPs.

In this eye-opening follow-up segment of The Clay Edwards Show, Clay revisits the viral "Hartfield basketball brawl"—more of a heated disturbance than a full-on fight—from the season opener against Oak Forest Academy on November 4. Drawing from Jackson Jambalaya's latest report, he breaks down how parent Mark Wilson got banned for the rest of the season by the Mid-South Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) after yelling at an Oak Forest parent during a player-student section scuffle, leading to both being restrained. Wilson sued in Rankin County Chancery Court for a temporary restraining order, calling the ban "arbitrary" and claiming due process violations since MAIS only reviewed videos without a hearing—but the court sided with MAIS, noting the handbook applies to students and schools, not parents. Now, Wilson misses his son's senior year entirely. Clay calls out helicopter parents at private school games, comparing it to umpire fights in travel ball, and urges adults to chill: "It's never that serious—let kids be kids." He even floats support for a past bill making assaulting officials a felony, emphasizing involvement without extremes. Unfiltered advice on parenting pitfalls and sports sanity, no sugar added.

Housing, Credit cards, Fannie and Freddie - all in week's work.. - Retail investors in control - don't care about the noise Markets - DJIA plowing ahead - NASDAQ on fire - what can stop this? - Nuclear stocks back in play - Defense names on the move - Interesting economic news. FIRST - President Donald Trump said drug “cartels are running Mexico,” and suggested the U.S. military could start land strikes against them there. - The comments come on the heels of suggestions that Trump could take military action in Cuba and Colombia, and to annex Greenland. - The Trump administration has reportedly carried out 35 known strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean, killing 115 individuals. - I will be going to Mexico later this week for a couple of days..... Retail Ruling - Retail traders have extended a buying spree into the new year, following a record-setting performance in 2025, with purchases in the first four trading days of January hitting the second-highest level in almost eight months. - Individual investors have bought about $10.1 billion of US equities since the start of the year, mainly via exchange-traded funds, far exceeding the 12-month weekly average. - Retail investors' confidence has helped stabilize markets during recent pullbacks, and if they keep snapping up equities, gains in the US stock market are likely to persist, according to analysts. Employment Report - 4.4% Unemployment Rate - Nonfarm Payroll Employment: U.S. employers added +50,000 jobs in December 2025. This came in below economists' expectations (consensus around 60,000–73,000) and was a slowdown from the downwardly revised +56,000 in November. - Unemployment Rate: Edged down slightly to 4.4% (from a revised 4.5% in November), contrary to forecasts of 4.5%. The number of unemployed people remained around 7.5 million, showing little change. - Full-Year 2025 Performance: Total payroll growth for the year was just +584,000 jobs (average monthly gain of +49,000), marking one of the weakest years for hiring since 2020 (impacted by the pandemic). This is a sharp drop from +2.0 million added in 2024 (average +168,000 monthly). -Revisions to Prior Months: -- October 2025: Revised down to -173,000 (from -105,000, reflecting federal government buyouts and shutdown effects). -- November 2025: Revised down by 8,000 to +56,000. -- Combined October–November: 76,000 fewer jobs than previously reported. GDP - HOT - Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari (voting FOMC member) on CNBC says it is very surprising how strong GDP growth is; says labor market is clearly cooling; says inflation still too high; has confidence housing inflation will trend down - Q3 at +3.8% and Atlanta GDP NOW is predicting that Q4 will come in at +5.1% More Eco - Productivity (Prelim Q3): 4.9% vs. 2.5% consensus - Productivity measures output per hour worked. A jump to 4.9% (almost double the consensus) suggests businesses are producing much more per labor hour than expected. Prior was revised up to 4.1% from 3.3%, so the trend is strengthening. WOW! Unit Labor Costs (Prelim Q3): -1.9% vs. +0.8% consensus - Unit labor costs measure labor cost per unit of output. A negative number means costs per unit are falling. Prior revised to -2.9% from +1.0%, so costs have been dropping sharply. -Could be due to technology adoption, automation, or efficiency improvements. Post-pandemic restructuring and leaner operations may have boosted output without adding labor. OOOOOOOPS - White House official says Truth Social disclosure of December jobs report was an "inadvertent release"; says White House will review protocols - CNBC  What next? - President Donald Trump called for a one-year cap on credit card interest rates at 10%, effective Jan. 20, without specifying details. - Trump wrote on social media that the American Public will no longer be "ripped off" by Credit Card Companies that are charging Interest Rates of 20 to 30%, and even more. - Maybe because of this: Hours before his message on Friday, Senator Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent, said on X: “Trump promised to cap credit card interest rates at 10% and stop Wall Street from getting away with murder. Instead, he deregulated big banks charging up to 30% interest on credit cards.” - BUT! Credit card companies will not be forced to issue credit - right? It will hurt people that need credit for business, personal or other needs. Then there was this: - Mortgage rates fell sharply on Friday, a day after President Donald Trump said on social media that he is instructing mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy $200 billion in mortgage bonds. - “This will drive Mortgage Rates DOWN, monthly payments DOWN, and make the cost of owning a home more affordable,” he said in the Truth Social post. - Still not clear where the money will come from and hot this actually works with the current structure of Fannie and Freddie - Talk of Fannie/Freddie IPO? --- Both are still still in conservatorship and book value per share still negative - SO WHERE DOES MONEY COME FROM? OHHHHH - How about this - 4PM browbeating for the Defense companies - RTX was in the hotseat (as were others) taking the wrath of Pres Trump saying that they were basically fat and happy and ripping off the taxpayer - No more dividends and no more buybacks was the call - Stocks dropped 5% into the close and then more after - 30 minutes later - conversation changed and the idea of a move from $1T in spending for the defense budget should move to $1.5T in 2027. ----- Where does that money come from? - Stocks JUMPED! Can't Ignore this - Trump suggesting that Corporations and institutional investors cannot buy single family homes - “People live in homes, not corporations,” he said. - The argument is that corporate ownership has helped push housing further out of reach for everyday Americans. - It is for that reason, and much more, that I am immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes, and I will be calling on Congress to codify it. - Invitation Homes, which is the largest renter of single-family homes in the country, tumbled 6%. Shares of Blackstone, an investing firm that owns and rents single-family homes, dropped more than 5%. Private equity firm Apollo Global Management also declined over 5%. Then there is this... - DOJ putting he screws to Powell - The Trump administration has ramped up its pressure campaign on the U.S. central bank, threatening to indict Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell over comments he made to Congress about a building renovation project, prompting the Fed chief to call the move a "pretext" to gain more influence over the ?setting of interest rates. - The latest development in a long-running effort by U.S. President Donald Trump to push the Fed to dramatically lower rates had immediate fallout in Washington and on global markets. - Powell came out with a video over the weekend. - Initially futures were down
