Main Idea: Worldly troubles are a sign to be awake and a witness to Jesus. I) In this world you will have trouble (21:5-24). II) Jesus has overcome the world (21:25-36). III) Therefore, be awake and a witness to Jesus.

Most of the time, the interactions someone has with the Church, through friendship, visiting a church service, a small group, whatever… is what God uses to lead people further and further in the journey of faith until they have a life-transforming personal encounter with Jesus.Which means that part of what the church does; part of what we are called to do, is the same thing John the Baptist did, we prepare the way for Jesus. What does that look like today?Passage:Mark 1:1-8John the Baptist Prepares the WayThe beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,  as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:          “I will send my messenger ahead of you,          who will prepare your way” —       “a voice of one calling in the wilderness,          ‘Prepare the way for the Lord,          make straight paths for him.' ”And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.  John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Hino da Palavra de Deus I Jesus completou a missão de Deus, a obra de redenção do homem ao se entregar à vontade de Deus, sem propósitos ou planos egoístas. No centro, Ele colocou o plano de Deus. Orou ao Pai celestial, buscando a vontade de Deus. Ele buscava e sempre orava. Se vocês como Jesus, entregarem todos os seus cuidados à Deus e desistirem da carne, Deus lhes confiará tarefas vitais para que possam servi-Lo. II Jesus orou: “Deus Pai! Realiza a Tua vontade. Não ajas conforme minhas intenções, mas cumpras o Teu plano. Por quê se importar com o homem tão fraco, que é como uma formiga em Tuas mãos? Eu só desejo cumprir a Tua vontade. Faz em mim o que desejares.” III Na estrada para Jerusalém, Jesus sentiu-se angustiado. Mas manteve sua palavra, se fortaleceu indo em direção à cruz. Por fim foi crucificado, virou uma imagem da carne pecaminosa, completando a obra de redenção, erguendo-se acima dos grilhões da morte. Se vocês como Jesus, entregarem todos os seus cuidados à Deus e desistirem da carne, Deus lhes confiará tarefas vitais para que possam servi-Lo. IV Jesus viveu trinta e três anos, fazendo tudo para agradar a Deus, nunca pensando em ganhar ou perder só na vontade de Deus Pai. Seu serviço sempre em harmonia com a vontade de Deus. Por isso, estava qualificado para cumprir com o fardo da redenção. Um sofrimento infinito Ele suportou, e por inúmeras vezes Satanás O tentou. Mas Ele nunca se desanimou. I Deus revelou Suas palavras para vocês, e o próximo passo é praticá-las, e Deus realizará a obra de iluminação e orientação, conforme vocês praticarem essas palavras. É assim que é. Saibam que sua meta é que a palavra de Deus aja em vocês e a conhecer na prática. Pode ser difícil as palavras de Deus entender, mas a prática ajuda nessa falha. Muitas verdades vocês devem conhecer, não apenas conhecer, praticar. Devem ser seu foco. Há muitas verdades que vocês devem saber e também fazer. Devem ser seu foco. II Jesus sofreu muito em Seus trinta e três anos e meio pois praticou e viveu a verdade. Ele cumpriu a vontade de Deus, a verdade praticou, e por isso Ele tanto sofreu. Se Ele conhecesse a verdade mas não a praticasse, Ele não sofreria assim. Se Ele tivesse seguido os fariseus e a lição dos judeus, Ele não sofreria muito, não, Ele não sofreria muito. III A prática de Jesus pode mostrar algo que você deve saber. Para a obra de Deus frutificar, o homem deve cooperar. Isso é algo que vocês devem entender, vocês devem entender, vocês devem entender. Se Jesus não praticasse a verdade, Ele não sofreria na cruz. Se pela vontade de Deus não agisse, como Sua oração seria tão triste? Esse é o tipo de dor que se deve suportar que se deve suportar. If you thought Jesus' death was the end of the story, you thought wrong. His perfect life, innocent death, and burial in a rich man's tomb was just the start of his mission to save us from our sins. But Sunday came and Jesus' intermission ended. His resurrection ripped back the curtains and gave us joy, hope, peace, forgiveness, and life with God. Jesus' resurrection shows us that there is an Act II! So, if you are living in a “Good Friday” world, thinking your story is over, your life will never change, and you'll never be good enough for God, you thought wrong. Easter is your Act II, too!
