Conor Daly prepares for his next challenge behind the wheel on this week's episode of Speed Street. He joins co-host Chase Holden to discuss his upcoming NASCAR Truck race at Homestead and the challenges he's facing in a grueling market for open seats in 2025. The guys also discuss the recent IndyCar test at Iowa Speedway as well as the Indianapolis Road Course test for 2025's IndyNXT roster. Conor spent the past weekend watching racing and was disappointed with the outcome of the Formula One United States Grand Prix. He weighs in on the differences between IndyCar and Formula One track limits and how the race may have played out differently if the stewards didn't have to get involved. Hailie Deegan joins the show to discuss her highly publicized transition from the NASCAR world to the IndyNXT paddock. Hailie explains that after her last NASCAR Xfinity event, she began to ponder entering the open wheel world and went to the IndyCar event at Iowa Speedway to take in the series firsthand. She compares the amount of track time she's had so far in preparing for her first IndyNXT start to her past four seasons spent in NASCAR, which reveals a major challenge for developing racers in the stock car world. Conor and Hailie discuss the use of iRacing in helping to ease the growing pains that come with switching types of race cars, as well as the affordability of racing in IndyNXT versus a NASCAR Truck. 21+ and present in North Carolina. Peterson explains the satisfaction of dominating the race instead of lucking into a win, the nerves he had before and during the race, how small FRM is comparably to some other large teams he's worked with and where/how Michael McDowell stacks up on the long list of drivers and Hall of Famers he's worked with. Peterson explains the lunch conversation that started it all and why McDowell liked one of his answers to a question, proving himself, doing more with less at Front Row, why the win wasn't a huge surprise, outlook for the playoffs, Watkins Glen this upcoming weekend and more. Davey also discusses the Verizon 200 more in depth, including the length and time of the race, International drivers' performances and the fierce bubble battle with two races to go before the postseason. Phil is back with special guest host Joe Passero of Fansided/Beyond the Flag to discuss all the motorsports action from the previous weekend on E127 of the GSP.  The crew covers Tyler Reddick's second Cup win of the 2022 season at the Indianapolis Road Course.  The driving standards and respect are low but it has become par for the course.  At the same time, the points situation becomes clearer as the series moves to Michigan.  AJ Allmendinger dominated in the XFinity Series and added much needed points to his lead in his chase for the regular season title plus 15 playoff points.  The Truck Series returned to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for the first time in a decade with Grant Enfinger getting a massive win in the series playoff opener. IndyCar was part of the Indianapolis weekend once again, with Alexander Rossi breaking a three-year winless streak with a strong performance but gets penalized after for a ballast infraction which stinks like the great TGBB.  Formula 1 drove into their summer break with Max Verstappen getting another victory from 10th and solidifying a World Driver's Championship in 2022 in the process with Ferrari doing their typical *&^% stepping.  Mercedes takes a double podium with Sir Lewis Hamilton's momentum continuing and George Russell getting his first career pole.  Outside of the racing itself, Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement which set off a chain reaction of moves and contract issues for drivers that will continue to be discussed.   In the GSP Roundup, F2/F3/W Series at Hungary, Formula E in London, Supercars at The Bend, World Superbike in the Czech Republic, IMSA at Road America and MotoGP/Moto2 at Silverstone.  Phil and Joe preview the Cup and XFinity racing at Michigan International Speedway with picks along with IndyCar on the streets of Nashville.

Phil and Josh return for E126 of the GSP to discuss the craziness that ensued at Pocono Raceway which saw the winner and second place driver disqualified along with plenty of penalties outside of this.  Denny Hamlin crossed the line first with pole-sitter Kyle Busch finishing second and no selling his car owner Joe Gibbs in the process but William Clyde Elliott II took the win after post-race inspection due to tape underneath the wrap.  The guys discuss all the penalties, the racing and the crowd itself with The Tricky Triangle having a great turnout even though it was boiling hot.  Ty Gibbs made his Cup debut in place of Kurt Busch who was ruled out after concussion like symptoms from a qualifying crash and did a solid job.  Noah Gragson held off Gibbs the day before in the XFinity while Chandler Smith put himself in great position for Truck Series championship after a dominant performance in the Truck Series regular season finale.  For the IndyCar Series, Josef Newgarden dominated race one at Iowa Speedway and was on his way to another win before crashing and eventually having to be flown out of the track.  The beneficiary from Newgarden's rare error was Pato O'Ward, who reinserts himself into the title battle.  Phil and Josh go over the races and points leading into Indianapolis Road Course. At the French Grand Prix, Max Verstappen benefits from another Charles Leclerc error/Ferrari mechanical issue which saw Leclerc crash out of an F1 race lead for the third time in 2022.  Mercedes with Sir Lewis Hamilton and George Russell gave The Silver Arrows their first double podium of the season with Ferrari screwing up Carlos Sainz strategy.  On the GSP Roundup, Phil goes over F2 and W Series in France along with adding F3 at Hungary, Formula E at London, Supercars at The Bend and World Superbike at the Czech Republic.  The guys go over NASCAR Cup/XFinity at IMS Road Course along with the Truck Series Playoff opener at Lucas Oil Raceway Park along with picks. You probably know Joe Graf Jr. as that guy who failed to qualify in a RCR Xfinity car, but Davey shines a light on the SS Green Light driver on and off track this week. The two chat (17:30) about how Graf got started in racing being from the Northeast and how he currently is balancing being a full-time college student at NYU with racing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He also dives into why attending school is important to him, despite the logistical hurdles involved with managing it. Graf discusses his first career ARCA win and one that he thinks he *should* have won, including racing with a broken foot and making some people mad along the way. As an intern with Richard Childress Racing, Graf got the opportunity to race in the Xfinity Series, but made headlines by failing to qualify. He's in good spirits about the weekend now, and explains why his mindset has switched to making light of the situation rather than avoiding it altogether. Graf also dishes on his fight with Gray Gaulding earlier this year at Martinsville. Who won? What did he think of Gaulding's comments? And what made Graf mad about the whole ordeal more than anything? Plus, his relationship with Antonio Williams Jr. of the Buffalo Bills, how working with a sports psychiatrist has aided him, his obsession with sneakers, love for New Jersey pizza/bagels and more. Davey also recaps the weekend of action from Watkins Glen and explains why the venue is one of the best in all of NASCAR. He also debates whether or not racing on the Indianapolis Road Course means as much as racing on the oval. Plus, Papa Segal gives an ode to Smoke.
