Sunday's race didn't end the way Denny Hamlin had wanted, but he still left as the points leader, so things are looking up. Splitter damage ruined Denny's day. Travis believes Jared jinxed him. Before talking in-depth about the crash, Denny discusses the prank they pulled on AP. Carson Hocevar was the car that spun out Denny...but is Hurricane Hocevar actually to blame? What would have happened if Ty Gibbs hadn't stayed out for stage points? Christopher Bell had an amazing performance with a broken wrist. SVG got another win, but is it enough to make The Chase? Who could we see challenge for the last couple spots? The Bracket Challenge moves to the next round, and Denny makes his predictions. NASCAR returns to Chicagoland, and Denny was one of the drivers who participated in the tire test, so he details what to expect. Big shoutout to Viking Motorsports for their performance on Saturday. The gang is all back from the West Coast swing, though we are still down Freddie while he rests his vocal cords up — and this week we invited Mr. Smile himself, Chris Rice, CEO of Kaulig Racing, to join us! We start off by getting background on Chris, the time he spent working with Tommy Baldwin, and everything that Kaulig Racing currently has going on. After that, they dish about Sonoma and the races that took place there over the weekend, which was AJ Allmendinger's 500th Career Cup start. But before we got into Spot On, Spot Off, we had to ask him about the elephant in the room — the rumor of Dodge going Cup racing in 2027. The topics the Door Bumper Clear crew debated this week included: Will SVG make the 2026 Chase? More Hocevar drama... Connor Zilisch's move to stay out for Stage 2 in the O'Reilly Race NASCAR's newest change with the foam inserts coming out of the Cup cars' bumpers Should Chicagoland be on the 2027 schedule? To close out the show, we had a fan call in blaming Hocevar for his relationship status, we ask Chris about his passionate personality, and we rattle off the winners from around the racing world. From bus doors getting destroyed to Michael Jordan's motivating words, and maybe even a future racer in the Earnhardt family - this week's Dirty Thirty is one for the history books. To start us off, Dale Jr. talks about broadcasting from an Aircraft carrier this weekend at San Diego, and the time he saw his bus have an issue live on TV at Pocono. Then, he and Amy talk about Nicole's ride in Justin Allgaier's car to victory lane — and how it may have sparked her interest in going racing someday. After that, the Door Bumper Clear crew discusses the Cup Series drivers' aggressiveness this year under the new points format. Over on Actions Detrimental, Denny Hamlin sets his goal for San Diego and Sonoma, and shares the words Michael Jordan said during a pre-season meeting with 23XI that sparked DH's tenacious approach to this year. Finally, Red Bull brethren and road course aces, Connor Zilisch & Shane van Gisbergen, discuss what they are expecting heading into the historic weekend in San Diego, racing on a Naval Base. The time is here! The highly anticipated San Diego race is this weekend, and Shane Van Gisbergen shares his thoughts on the track layout. Tyler Reddick also weighs in on what he thinks of the new track.
As Dale Earnhardt Jr. prepares for the Prime Video broadcast of NASCAR's inaugural trip to San Diego, he sits down with road racing experts Shane Van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch. The guys visit the studio on the heels of the announcement that Red Bull will sponsor both of their cars at Naval Base Coronado. The deal also includes special edition cans of Red Bull featuring Shane and Connor. The guy's chat about the impact Red Bull has had on motorsports and the importance of their return to NASCAR specifically. Speaking of San Diego, the guys chat about the seemingly daunting course that has been laid out over Naval Base Coronado. Both Shane and Connor have spent time on the simulator to prepare, and they've both paid visits to the site as the course has been under construction. With a length of nearly three-and-a-half miles, the track will be the longest that Cup has competed on since their visit to Road America in 2022. Dale Jr. ponders what NASCAR's protocol on caution periods will be, as laps under yellow will take nearly six minutes to complete. The interview also discusses growing pains in the Cup Series, what each driver learned during their time in the O'Reilly Series, and what is on the horizon for Trackhouse Racing. EG3 (499): Shane Van Gisbergen does again ralling back late to take another win at The Glen. Plus, we chat All-Star race at Dover...yep Dover on Sunday.
Ah, snap, here we go again. It's another 30 minutes of nothing but the best Dirty Mo Media has to offer. It's Dirty Thirty time, y'all! First up, Dale Jr. wants everyone to know about Shan van Gisbergen's unique footwork that sets him apart (by a few seconds...) from the rest of the field. Then we hear from SVG himself on whether he feels it's truly an advantage or not. Over in the land of spotters, the Door Bumper Clear crew welcomed Hall of Famer Kurt Busch to the table, where he told us about his championship run in 2004, his imaginary friends, and the cougar that rode with him at Talladega. Dale Jr. interviewed basketball's newest phenom and Charlotte Hornets rookie, Kon Knueppel! He discusses the moment he got called up and the Rookie of the Year battle with Cooper Flagg. Last but not least, we have an epic Bless Your 'Hardt moment. Dale & Amy play a rousing round of "This or That," where the conversation about hard vs. soft taco shells divides the room between dirty minds and innocent foodies. Episode 186 is on the scene! Brandon Carr is an 18 year old racer from the UK who is looking to make his mark in the United States. He's won British Karting championships including the prestigious Kartmasters Championship. For the past couple of years, he has set his sights on becoming a NASCAR driver. His journey has taken him from the dirt tracks driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports to victory lane in the first IHRA Stock Car Series Pro Late Model event at Pulaski County Motorsports Park. Brandon joins us this week to talk about his unique journey from across the pond and the adjustments he had to make visiting some of the South's toughest short tracks for the first time. He also tells us how he hooked up with Setzer Development, which Daytona 500 winning Crew Chief has been his mentor and some advise he has received from Kaden Honeycutt. Speaking of Honeycutt, he made history over the weekend by not only winning his first ARCA Menards and Craftsman Truck Series events of his career at Watkins Glen on Friday but capturing a sweep of both the CARS Tour Pro and Late Model Stock events at Ace Speedway on Saturday. We spoke to Kaden about his unique accomplishment. We also review the entire weekend from Ace where you will hear comments from Pro Late Model runner up Jake Johnson, Late Model runner up Treyten Lapcevich, points leader Caden Kvapil and Doug Barnes Jr. Are we overplaying the Honeycutt sweep from the weekend? He made up nearly 30 seconds on the track on Sunday on a long green flag run and ended up winning by nearly 8 seconds. Is he already the best of all time? We debate plus we discuss what happened with the Hendrick cars on Sunday, the Ryan Preece appeal from Texas, why the All Star race in Dover just doesn't feel right and other stories coming out of Watkins Glen.We also discuss what happened at Pulaski County Motorsports which reminds us to give a shout out to Jesse King who was our guest contributor on Saturday. Fuel saving, cut line conversations, and Shane van Gisbergen putting on another road course masterclass. This week on Action Detrimental, the guys break down Ross Chastain running out of gas late, why Watkins Glen was still a solid points day, and how frustrating it can be to save fuel instead of driving all out. Plus, they dive into NASCAR's road course coverage issues and why fans at home are missing too much of the action during some of the biggest moments of the race. They also debate whether a road course belongs in the playoffs, if anyone can eventually challenge SVG on these tracks, and why Connor Zilisch might be the next guy up. Add in the Ryan Preece penalty controversy, Kaden Honeycutt's first Truck Series win, and a look ahead to All-Star Weekend, and there is plenty to unpack in this one. Let us know in the comments if you think NASCAR should keep a road course in the playoffs! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Making his triumphant return to the guest seat on Door Bumper Clear, Jon Wood, President of Wood Brothers Racing, joins the crew to discuss the race in Las Vegas, speeding tickets & the end of throwback weekend. After catching up with what Jon's been up to, the usual suspects, Freddie Kraft, Tommy Baldwin & Karsyn Elledge, kick us off with what happened in Las Vegas: speeding penalties galore, Denny Hamlin's dominating performance, and some post-race beef between ex-teammates, Ross Chastain & Daniel Suarez. In Spot On, Spot Off, the crew discusses: - Denny Hamlin's chances of breaking 70 career wins - Throwback Weekend is coming to an end after 10 years - How soon will SVG win on an oval track? This week's calls in Reaction Theatre were something to behold, with fans crushing beers and commenting on Freddie's uncharacteristically wild hair, and he reveals the reason behind the long locks. There were so many nominees for S*** Show Hall of Fame this week that it was hard for the crew to remember them all.
