If you are looking for a story on huge action taking, then todays guest for the milestone 200th episode of the Join Up Dots Steve Jobs inspired archive podcast, is the only man that I wanted for the job......in fact I held back from recording this show so he could appear. And why did I feel that way?Well after 199 episodes of Join Up Dots, hopefully you will feel like I do that they are motivational, inspiring, challenging and the kind of content that makes you believe that everything is possible. They teach you that careers are not given to you, but are instead made. They teach you how to set goals, take action and have the mindset to have the kind of lifestyle that is more than just earning money. They teach you how to live a life that is your dreamlife. But if this is the first show that you have listened to then...believe me, just hearing about this guys story will leave you feeling that its time to get going. When he was a young man at ages 13 and 16, this wannabe entrepreneur received news that would knock most people off their feet.He had cancer and not just one type but two completely different types, which left him listening to his last rights and waiting to die.He was given only fourteen days grace, but instead of passing on as expected he astounded the medical community when he survived both these brutal diseases and also a medically-induced coma for a year. This courage to beat the odds and take on a challenge that many deemed as impossible left him with the realisation that no challenge would ever be too great or any peak too high.He proved this theory when he crested the peak of the highest point in the world (Mount Everest) with only partial use of his lungs. As the first cancer survivor to do so, he then decided to continue climbing and has since topped the highest peaks in Africa, Europe, South America, Australia, Antarctica, and North America. But this isn't a story about a man with super human strength or support, a solopreneur with the inside track to succcess. This is a story of total belief in himself and what he can achieve.Inspiring us all to dream bigger and go for the impossible. He is voted one of the top eight most inspirational people of all time, so it with great delight to bring onto the Steve Jobs inspired podcast how to start joining up dots, the one and only solopreneur and adventurer Sean Swarner.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound

Our guest today lives his life by two rules. And these are two rules that by and large most people will try to keep away from, and then they wonder why they haven’t got their dream life.He believes thatYou can’t be afraid to take a risk. You absolutely MUST have a plan. And then if you know anything about him, he adds to the mix a huge belief in himself, a flexing hustle muscle that he demonstrates everyday, and an easy going nature that helps him reach out to the movers and shakers across the globe. As a young man, he didn't have the desire to be the solopreneur or entrepreneur that he is today. Instead he had a burning passion to become a professional paintballer, and upon getting his first gun from his parents set out to achieve his aim. And it seems that what he wants to do, he makes sure that he does its as within four years he had travelled the world shooting capsules of paint at people winning $300,000 dollars in the process.Even gaining the top prize of $160,000 in just one weekend. But at his core burned a question. A question that had occurred to him several years earlier, and had remain within him. Gnawing away.He asked himself “If people can come from nothing and create insane amounts of wealth in one lifetime, then shouldn’t someone like myself coming from a middle class family who has the support from their family and lives in “The Land of Opportunity” be able to easily do the same thing?”Wow, for a fourteen year old kid that shows awareness beyond his years. He realised at any early age that comfort creates mediocrity, and pain motives change. And now after investing over $500,000 of his own money on self development, and spending time with the likes of Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield and even Arnold Schwarzenegger he is taking those personal skills and sharing them with the world with his Peak Performance Club. But how does someone at the age of 14 start thinking in such an advanced way, especially when it appears he didn’t have anything to force him to think that way?How did he start taking the action that helped him achieve the big goals? And where does he find the greatest need within the people that he coaches and inspires across the world?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only coaching solopreneur Mr Mark A Lack.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a lady who is talking my language when it comes to staff development. If you have listened to a few of the shows, you will have heard me wax lyrical as to why companies focus in on the things that employees can't do, and pretty much ignore the things they can.It seems lunacy to me that strengths are not developed to the highest level possible. But for some reason they are not.Well, our guest found that same belief when she was in her first manager role, and whilst sitting in her office got a phone call from a colleague. Her colleague was extremely upset as she had just received her annual performance review and felt beat up and worthless. She shared that she had been barely recognized for the things she was good at, and marked down for things that just weren’t in her nature. And with these words, our guests life was changed forever “Why can’t they just accept me for who I am? I’m 35 years old, I’m not going to change.”An so with those words ringing in her ear, she set off to change the lives of employees across America. She is a speaker, coach, author and founder of Shoop Training & Consulting so certainly has a lot on her plate at the moment. But what was it about this one employee that really hit home, more than any of the others that she had managed during her corporate life? And how can people find their key strengths in life, and then most importantly convince their management to let them flourish in these areas?Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Emilie Shoop.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Have you ever had the dream as a kid when you are laying in bed all snuggly, and you think "wouldn't it be great to have a clone of myself that I could send to school?"Actually, you might be having those every same thoughts as an adult too.How do we get everything done that we want to in life, and still have time for ourselves and our families?Well todays guest is a lady from her base in the United States was doing just that, as a Mother, wife and business lady she knew how important it was to have more than one of you to help out.So she has set out on a path to help entrepreneurs with a vision take their work, their dreams and their income to the next level.Helping them not to get caught in the trap of doing the stuff that wont push their business forward, but still has to be done.Cloning themselves in fact. But her life work, of helping others came from the belief that we all have a purpose in our lives, and it is up to all of us to work out just what that thing is, and then rock the world? So how did she find out what her purpose in life was?And where does she feel that our listeners can find their own thing in life too?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, the one and only inspirational solopreneur, Amber McCue.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a man who from the very early stages in his life had the hustle muscle working overtime. At the age of nine he would sneak comics into school to sell them to his classmates, who couldn't get enough of the latest adventures of their favourite characters, so would cough up their hard earned pocket money for the privilege. And I suppose it wasn't a surprise that he could see the way to earn a buck or two, as both his parents were successful entrepreneurs, and being surrounded by people who do things their way and work to achieve things, is as we know so hugely powerful to your own development. So with a track record of a range of ventures including a nightclub promotions company, a modelling agency and a fashion line, he is attempting to find the thing that brings all his hustle together and creates the future that he deserves. And now more recently, he has been managing his own financial advisory firm, Fordyce & Playle, and a new online estate agency, Market My PropertyBut if you think that this episode will be about a young man who is working solely on his own life, and becoming an entrepreneur of note, then think again. As with passions ranging from animal healthcare, children and even appearing in the 'Famous Males Checkum' cancer calendar he is doing his best to give back to the world. So where does he see his true value to the world being directed at its highest level? And does he feel that he is on track to achieve his dream of the youngest entrepreneur to sit as an investor on BBC's tv show "Dragon's Den"Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots on the Steve Jobs inspired business podcast, with the one and only UK solopreneur Tom Webster.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a lady, who believes that entering into adult life with a solid education is extremely advisable, but entering into adultlife with the debt that education brings is not.She was a college graduate who ended her education with zero student loans. What I hear you say.....no student loans how is that possible!Well, hang on a minute as if you think that sounds inplausible then consider that not only was her college bill paid for but she actually got paid to go to school too.As the first in her family, she had to figure out the scholarship process on her own, and so successfully did this, she now wants to help other students and their families do the same and the first step has been writing the Amazon bestseller "The Scholarship System."This amazing author had detailed in her best selling book details the exact strategies, and insider information that she uncovered which allowed her to bring in over $125,000 in scholarships and financial aid, paying her entire college bill and giving her extra cash each semester. She was able to focus on her higher education rather than constantly worrying about money and how much student loan debt was piling up.But that is just one part of her story as this is a lady who was born to be a solopreneur and has an eye of creating a life that so few people are willing to create, and she is going for it Big time. She is taking huge action, setting big goals and feeling the motivation to take on the world. As she says "Recently I have realized that future options are endless and, while I have always taken advantage of those opportunities in front of me, I am now creating my own."So how does someone come out of the education system with a mind-set so different from so many others, who focus in on a job, and not creating the opportunities that can lead to financial freedom instead?Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots on the Steve Jobs inspired business podcast, the one and only Jocelyn Paonita.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Today's guest is a man whose middle name is maxi (i'll be honest I'm not sure if this was from birth or he added it later), but it certainly fits extremely well in regards to his approach to life.He believes that we all have it in us to live our lives to the "Max" and its not our situations, income, lifestyles, or anything else that holds us back other than quite simply ourselves. He qualified as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and worked for many years providing solutions-orientated guidance for weight-loss, smoking, and the elimination of phobias. His goal is to encourage clients to adapt and improve all aspects of their lives by understanding the vital role the mind plays in all our lives. And it's not just individuals where his talents as a "Mind Coach" come to the fore, as he works with companies, organisations and individuals from his varied experience as a Business Owner, Sports Coach, Trainer, Sales Manager and Therapist he knows what they are going through. He is the author of 'Escape the Mind Trap - How to Conquer Your Inner Demons' and can dig down past the stumbling blocks and self-limiting beliefs that hold us all back, and find the fears and anxieties that actually create the things that we think are holding us back.Get rid of them and see your life change. So how has he managed to overcome the fears and concerns that stop the rest of in our tracks? And does he see the same issues time and time again, and can help us on Join Up Dots make a step forward in our own pursuit of success?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots the one and only, Mr Ian Maxi Jackson!Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a lady who claims that she has never had a bad job, even though she spent several semesters helping students cut open and poke around in cats and pigs.Yes, I think that is the first time that I have had that fact in an introduction. But that isn't one of those facts that define her, but the fact that this lady knows how to hustle certainly does. When it comes to getting the work done, she is willing to put in the hours, and believes wholeheartedly that the only way to reap the rewards that your life deserves is by taking the old leap of faith. And that is what she has done, she leapt and kept flexing the hustle muscle everyday since leaving her corporate gig and going it alone. And with a history of working in a sports marketing company, where she worked with many Fortune 500 clients, starting with IMG and most recently leading the marketing efforts for an agency owned by NASCAR driver, she knew how to get a product to market. But its ok, knowing how to do this if someone else is footing the bill. But what if you have the idea for a product and have to get it into the hands of the consumers yourself?Well, in 2011 she used her branding, marketing and sales experience to launch such a product and Slawsa, a unique slaw-salsa hybrid condiment was born. And within two years after launch, the product could be found on the shelves of over 5,200 stores in the U.S. and Canada with rave reviews from critics and consumers alike. What makes her story even more fascinating, is that even though this might be deemed as a success, she was then willing to take Slawsa and drop it into ABC's Shark Tank for the sharks to fight over?Did she get investment? Did she come out of the waters intact?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, with the one and only Julie Busha.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a man who believes that one of the best ways to create an income and business is to provide massive value to everyone you meet, and he fully subscribes to the “Pay It Forward” methodology. And when it comes to using social media he believes wholeheartedly that this is the only way to go about building your valued network too.Not by taking personal action to smash every goal that he sets.As he says ”I live by the pay it forward lifestyle – if you are helped, don’t help that person, instead “pay it forward” to someone else in need. The blessing will come back to you!”And as an expert on how to utilise LinkedIn, he has for the last ten years travelled the country advising and presenting to eager attendees on how to make the most of this business resource, which lets be honest not many of us really know how to do for best results. But that is just one side of his life, as with 30 years spent in PR and Marketing and a published Amazon bestseller “Linking In to Pay it Forward: Changing the Value Proposition in Social Media” he is a man on a mission. So was this way of operating always in him, or did he come to a conclusion that this was the best way to do things? And is he surprised at how little people actually harness the power of LinkedIn?Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only, Mr Chuck Hester.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest solopreneur has a mantra in life, and one that has been tested time and time again.“You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can always control how you respond to what happens to you.” But that's ok, if you have mental strength, but what if you are quote on quote a normal person who gets hit by things in life and allow them to rock them on your heels. You savour the victim mentality and share the story of hardship and mental strife with friends and colleagues. You go back to your home and play sad music, until you pull yourself together and go again. But how do you learn the lessons in life, that can help you realise that like our guests mantra you can really control your life and get the better life that you deserve.Well over the last ten years, our guest has battled two bouts of chronic illness, a terrible injury that occurred to her daughter, black mold poisoning, financial devastation including the loss of a business and home, and if that isn't bad enough then she also had to deal with post traumatic stress disorder too. That is at least one whammy every two years. But instead of letting it stop her progression forward our guest learnt from these life lessons, and developed the "Choose A Better Life" platform and the Amazon best seller "Choose A Better Life: Common sense For Uncommon Living. So did she always have the mental strength, or did she go through the classic draw the curtains and hide from the world phase?Or was it an epiphany that made her scream "I can control what happens to me"Well lets find out, as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, the one and only Stephanie Hester.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest on the show is a man who, ill be honest when I started researching him, I thought "How the hell does he pack everything that he is doing into a day?"If you think that you are busy, then think again, as not only is he currently the Head of English, Drama and Media Studies at an outstanding Catholic school in Hertfordshire., but he is also juggling the work of a freelance journalist.Writing articles that regularly appear in ten industry-leading magazines that cover the automotive, aerospace, technology and travel sectors he is a man in demand. His articles are read by over 12,000 subscribers in print, and more online, but he is even more busy than that as the author of several bestselling books "The Missing", "Life Of Sin" and "On Guard" the last blending his love and expertise of fencing.Yes, he could challenge me to a dual at dawn, as for seven years he was a Karl was a competitive fencer. Fencing is in his blood. So how does he pack so much into his life, and still find that urge for consistent creativity? And if he could choose just one of his talents to do only, which one would he choose?Well let's find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, the one and only Mr Karl Vadaszffy!Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a man who states that he is a Christ Follower, CEO of Author Media, Professional Speaker, Podcaster, Wordpress Lover, Marketer, Political Trouble Maker, & Homeschool Graduate.Which means that the conversations today can literally go anywhere, and he will have an opinion on it....so what shall I start with first...religion or politics?Well let's start with the fact that since building his first website at the age of thirteen, our guest has been fascinated with communication whether its in the written word or by presenting his message in award winning presentations across America. He believes in connecting with people across the globe, and so it wasn't too much of a surprise to see that the early party of his career led heavily towards directing people on the political campaign trail. For several years he assisted political hopefuls to run their campaign at grass roots level by recruiting, training and organising volunteers to knock on doors and convince those voters that they met, that their boss was the way forward. But it was when he took this love of influencing and communicating, and combined it with his love of wordpress and website building that his career really started gaining speed. And in 2008 he created Umstattd Media focusing on social media consulting, web design, and helping authors and businesses get the most out of the web. This later changed to Castle Media Group and the rest as they is history. So what it is it about communication that really lights him up inside, and helps him explode the potential opportunities all around him?And does he have any design to go full circle and bring his skills back into the political environment?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, the one and only Thomas Umstattd Jr.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
Todays guest is a man who seems to have an absolute passion for building stuff. As he says "I have been writing and commercializing software since childhood. My goals are the same now as they were then: to solve difficult, practical problems with software"With a talent for writing code for computer programmes, and an eye for potential start-ups he has had astonishing success.Success that quite simply could leave him sitting on a island doing nothing for the rest of his life, due to the $700,000,000 Google paid him for the Cambridge, Mass-based ITA Software Inc.But that is just a tiny part of what has made him who he is, as he has steadily worked on his life, his career, and projects since leaving University with a bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science.Even before that he would grab every opportunity he could to develop his skills, and for five years between 1986 and 1991 in every school break he would work as a developer on Xenix and Mach operating systems, and then went on to co-found ITA Software in 1998.For all you computer game lovers, also know that he was the first employee hired at the video game developer Naughty Dog, where he co-created the first two installments of the Crash Bandicoot games for PlayStation. But for me, and this is what I want to touch on, as I like this fact very much, is he seems to have a completely opposing view to the overnight success, get rich quick practice that has taken control of the world over the last few decades. He works slowly and steadily, building his work in almost secrecy until 100% comfortable to release to the world. And now with his latest venture Inky, an email organising system gaining more and more interest he once again, is giving birth to something that the world is looking for, and will bring even more success. So, are there similarities between building computer games, and business platforms? And what does he see in the world today that he wishes that he could have built?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr David Baggett.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound

Todays guest entrepreneur joining us on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots archive 1 series of podcasts, is a man who is travelling a path that is 100% true to himself. As a younger man,he was classed as an at risk teenager, but still progressed to earn a B.A. in English. However continuing his studies did not go to plan, and although he had great talent, studying at Antioch University was not for him, and he dropped out of his MFA in Writing course. And then it seems to me without a clear idea of how to build a future, he lurched from one position to another and then back again, all the while increasing the debit on his credit card bills. He was depressed, overweight, constantly in pyjamas, and lost, but knew that he had something inside that he wanted to express to the world. As he says “we need something that fulfills us creatively.Everyone does. It doesn’t matter whether or not you think of yourself as an artist or not. Artists aren’t the only ones who do creative things. Cooks are creative, repossession agents are creative, my accountant is creative, my dad — who owns and runs a wholesale florist — is creative. He is now the co-owner of gocodebox a web development company, and has released two self penned publication to the world. So lets discuss his struggles, and his successes, and everything else in between,as we start joining up the dots with the one and only, Thomas Patrick Levy.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound

Todays guest entrepreneur joining us in the Join Up Dots archive 1 series of podcasts, is a lady who could literally be singing "I'm on the top of the world, looking down at the creation"every-time she jumps out of bed.Because since University, she has had a fascination for climbing, and took part in her first mountain expedition,to the Ruwenzori in central Africa at the age of 21.And something clicked in her.Was it the challenge? The camaraderie?Or simply the thrill of doing something that so few people have seen or done before?Whatever it was since that first climb she has tackled mountains across southern and central Africa, in South America, in the Alps and of course in the Himalayas when she stood on the top of the world and made history by becoming the first woman to reach the summit from the North and South peaks. But though her days on the worlds highest peak now seem to be at an end (in her words "I have not intention in going back" )her thirst for adventure seems unquenchable and in spring of 2004 she joined British woman Rona Cant and Norwegian Per-Thore-Hansen on a dog-sled expedition of 650 km through the remote wastes of the Norwegian Arctic to the most northerly point in Europe. With all these experiences just bursting from her, its no surprise that she has also climbed twice to the top of the book charts too, with her two self penned books Everest: Free To Decide and Just for the love of it"So before I mispronounce any more words and names, let me say it gives me great pleasure, to bring onto the show to start joining up the dots that have made her life, the one and only Cathy O'Dowd.Links:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound
