In today's Daily Fix:Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's launch likely isn't going the way Activision would have hoped, at least in Europe. Via The Game Business, the European launch of the game saw 63% fewer copies sold compared to competitor Battlefield 6. It's also down more than 50% against last year's Black Ops 6. Game Pass subscriptions have not been taken into account as Microsoft has not provided that data. In other news, Charlie Cox doesn't want any of the credit for his performance as Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, even as he's nominated at this year's The Game Awards. Cox would prefer the accolades go to mo-cap artist Maxence Cazorla. And finally, despite what the internet is saying, Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet very likely won't be out in 2026, and probably won't have presence at The Game Awards next month, either.

An old piece of games industry lore has recently reemerged, and it has people wondering about a tantalizing what-if. Back in 1999, The Matrix hit theaters, and the co-creators of the film happened to have been huge fans of Hideo Kojima, himself a year removed from the launch of Metal Gear Solid. And, as was reported at the time, there was potential that Konami would allow Kojima to pursue a licensed Matrix game post-MGS. A lot of new information has since emerged about what did and didn't happen here, and it makes for a great conversation starter. So let's lean into it, shall we? For the first time ever, PlayStation is publishing one of its own games on Xbox. The new port comes in the form of 2024's smash-hit multiplayer game Helldivers 2 from second party studio Arrowhead, and though Sony has a long-but-silent history of bringing games to other consoles -- there was a Wipeout game on N64, after all, and the likes of Death Stranding and MLB: The Show have already migrated to Xbox via intermediaries -- never before have they acted as publisher. Is this a one-off, or a move that could signify a new strategy? Will Xbox players conditioned to Game Pass put their money where their mouth is? Are single-player exclusives next?
