Harry Shum Jr. has proven himself to be a dynamic force in Hollywood. While he is perhaps best known for his role as Mike Chang on the hit series Glee, Shum has consistently embodied complex and meaningful characters, bringing depth and magnetic energy to the screen. Shum was recently seen as the lead in Universal's romantic drama ALL MY LIFE, starring opposite Jessica Rothe. Inspired by real events, the film follows a couple whose wedding plans are thrown off course when the groom is diagnosed with liver cancer. All My Life released in theaters on Friday, December 4th, 2020. Also, upcoming, Shum stars in the technological thriller, BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION, opposite Chris Sullivan and Kelley Mack. Inspired by actual broadcast interruptions that occurred in the Windy City in the late 1980s, and remain unsolved to this day, the film is an unsettling journey into our collective technological nightmares. He will soon be seen in A24's Sci-Fi film, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, starring opposite Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, with the cryptic synopsis: It's about a 55 year old Chinese woman trying to finish her taxes. He recently wrapped production in Vancouver on McG's production for Netflix's LOVE HARD. This romantic comedy follows an LA girl, unlucky in love, who falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for Christmas, only to discover that she's been catfished. Shum will be seen alongside Nina Dobrev and Jimmy O. Yang. His previous film credits include Warner Bros' massive hit CRAZY RICH ASIANS. The film, which features a historic all-Asian cast, was nominated for 2 Golden Globes, won Best Comedy at the Critics' Choice Awards, and was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the 2019 SAG awards. He also starred in the Netflix Original feature CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON II - THE GREEN DESTINY, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning martial arts film, Crouching Tiger, set 20 years later. Other notable projects on the silver screen include ESCAPE PLAN 3: DEVIL'S STATION opposite Sylvester Stallone; BURN opposite Suki Waterhouse and Josh Hutcherson; CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON: SWORD OF DESTINY, REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS, MOMS' NIGHT OUT; STEP UP 2: THE STREETS, and WHITE FROG. Shum has numerous TV credits as well, including the fan favorite SHADOWHUNTERS on Freeform, in which he starred as the eccentric warlock MAGNUS BANE, for which he won the People's Choice Awards Male TV Star in 2018. The series is based on the bestselling YA fantasy series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and follows a teenage girl who discovers on her 18th birthday that she comes from a long line of Shadowhunters, a group of human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. In addition, Shum starred in, produced and co-choreographed The LXD (LEGION OF EXTRAORDINARY DANCERS), an online dance adventure created by director Jon M. Chu (STEP UP 3D). Passionate about children, Shum has partnered with The Conscious Kid Organization, which focuses on education, research, and policy dedicated to equality and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth while supporting organizations, families, and educators in taking action to disrupt racism in young children. Shum's heart also lies in working with the Anti-Racist Children's Book Education Fund initiative through this organization. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica and raised in both Northern and Southern California, Shum began dancing in high school and soon after discovered acting. He currently resides in Los Angeles. ABOUT BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION starring Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, Crazy Rich Asians), Chris Sullivan (This Is Us) , and Kelley Mack (The Walking Dead), in theaters and On Demand October 22nd While logging tapes of decades-old TV broadcasts, video archivist James (Harry Shum Jr.) discovers a surreal and disturbing clip that James believes is the product of a mysterious broadcast signal hacking. His discovery takes a sinister turn when he tracks down similar broadcast intrusions that send him on an obsessive mission. Now James must confront two very real possibilities: that the videos may be clues to a crime beyond all comprehension; and that whoever was behind them may be very aware that James is coming uncomfortably close to the truth. BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION was inspired by actual broadcast interruptions that occurred in Chicago in the late 1980s, and remain unsolved to this day. The film is an unsettling journey into our collective technological nightmares, confronting our deepest, darkest fears of both man and machine. Nenechajte si ujsť stretnutie so starými známymi z tieňoloveckého sveta v druhej časti Najstarších kliatob! Magnus Bane a Alec Lightwood majú skvelý život. Akoby to nestačilo, Magnus utŕžil zranenie zvláštnou magickou zbraňou, takže majú ešte o jednu starosť navyše. Našťastie im na pomoc príde Clary, Jace, Isabelle a nový Tieňolovec Simon. V Šanghaji však zistia, že nad nimi visí oveľa temnejšia hrozba. Magnusova mágia je čoraz nestabilnejšia, a ak nedokážu zastaviť démonov, čo zaplavujú mesto, budú ich musieť nasledovať až k zdroju - do samotnej ríše mŕtvych. Číta: Dado Nagy

In which we discuss the stunning cinematography of the cold open and the show's bravery in revelling in this episode's gruesomeness – maggotballs and all - and then complain about the number of characters that had to take their moron pills, to get the plot to where it needed to be and Deux Ex Machina-Clary Fairchild… Mostly because this basically means that Magnus Bane and the Shadowhunters have become entirely obsolete. Which totally opens up the beautiful possibilities of Magnus & Alec spending all of Season 3b on a beach, drinking Mojitos so... Barbados here we come! In this episode of Bibliophiles Anonymous, Denise and Jess kick off their read of the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare, starting with book one, Clockwork Angel. A prequel to the Mortal Instruments series, the Infernal Devices series follows Shadowhunters living in Victorian England. We meet Tessa Gray, a young American going to live with her brother when she is captured by a pair of women called the Dark Sisters. While in their care, she is forced to reveal the strange power that she has - the ability to shapeshift into different people - a power that she herself didn't know that she had. According to the Sisters, she is to be groomed as the bride of their leader, a mysterious figure known only as "the Magister." Tessa is rescued by two Shadowhunters, Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs, who take her to the Institute. There, Tessa begins the process of trying to discover what she is and to solve the mystery of what really happened to her brother. Both Denise and Jess are big fans of Cassandra Clare and, while they've both started this trilogy in the past, neither one of them has actually finished it. Jess admits that these books include yet another one of her fictional crushes, one Will Herondale. Other well-known characters from the Mortal Instruments make appearances as well, like the warlock Magnus Bane and the vampire Camille Belacort. Some things mentioned in the show: Adagio Teas - Do you enjoy a good cup of tea? How about blends dedicated to your favorite fandom! Jess wholeheartedly endorses Adagio for all your tea needs. HebelDesign - For custom made jewelry based off the Mortal Instruments, the Infernal Devices, and more. Be sure to join us next week as we discuss book two, Clockwork Prince! Thanks for listening!
