Ze woont achter het centraal station van Antwerpen, in een oud huis vol schitterend bewaarde elementen, en vooral met ontzettend veel groen: overal staan, hangen en slingeren planten. Anne Provoost (1964) is de schrijfster van Vallen, haar allerbekendste boek. Ze schreef ook Mijn tante is een grindewal, De arkvaarders en In de zon kijken. Ze publiceerde essays en in 2022 voor het eerst een dichtbundel: Krop. Op het moment dat we elkaar spreken is net haar tweede dichtbundel klaar, Decem. Ze laat mij de drukproeven zien die op haar bureau liggen. We gaan zitten op de eerste verdieping van het huis, in de indrukwekkende bibliotheek waarvan de kasten van boven tot onder vol staan met boeken. De man van Anne Provoost is Manu Claeys, bekend als voorzitter van de burgerbeweging StRaten-generaal in Antwerpen. Hij komt midden in ons gesprek terug van een vergadering. Ze hebben samen drie kinderen: Cornelius, Martha en Basil. De laatste twee zijn allebei filosofen. Anne Provoost vertelt in deze podcast over het boek dat ze kocht toen ze in Amerika woonde, het moment dat ze de belangrijkste schrijfster in haar leven in het echt zag. In this Vale episode of the STAGES podcast, we remember Arts Historian - Frank van Straten, who passed away in April. Frank was the inaugural archivist at the Performing Arts Museum (now Australian Performing Arts Collection at Arts Centre Melbourne) and later its founding Director. Renowned as a theatre historian of supreme knowledge, Frank was the author of many publications which celebrated theatres, artists, practitioners and productions. His historical perspectives of plays and musicals were a regular feature of programs for commercial producers. Between 1986 and 2001, he researched and presented ABC Local Radio's Nostalgia segment, broadcast on Melbourne's 774 and the ABC Victorian Regional Network. He was the Historical Consultant for Graeme Murphy's ‘dance musical' Tivoli, performed by the Sydney Dance Company, and given his tremendous knowledge, he frequently accepted invitations to contribute information to considerable books, speeches, biographies, performance and exhibitions.  In recognition of his services to the performing arts in Australia, Frank van Straten was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1999. Frank's passion for our performing heritage was palpable. With an ability to talk at length on any subject to do with the performing arts in Australia he was the perfect guest for the podcast.I'm so grateful he agreed to a conversation for the STAGES podcast. Namiesto lacných potravín, rušenie Špeciálnej prokuratúry a namiesto kompetentnosti lojalita pri obsadzovaní postov v moci štátu. Kam sa týmto štýlom bude uberať slovensko a nie je dnes presnejšie hovoriť skôr o zaradení reverzného chodu a časoch v ktorých sa budeme vracať do minulosti? A čo si vlastne praje väčšinový volič a nakoľko bude spokojný s tým, čo mu dnes namiesto predvolebných sľubov ponúka vládna realita? Budeme čeliť dobe zahnívania, Slovensko si to však rozhodne nemôže dovoliť. Systém nadsluhuje už aj vo svojich základných atribútoch a pád bude hodne bolestivý. Hovorí pre Ráno Nahlas sociológ Michal Vašečka. Podla neho nastupuje plíživá neonormalizacia a razantné uťahovanie skrutiek moci. Otázkou je, ako tomu dokážeme - ako spoločnosť, čeliť a či metódy cukru a biča otestované dvadsať ročnou érou husákovskej normalizácie budú zaberať aj dnes na Slovensku v roku 2024. Zo snahy o konsenzus sa v politike stala prakticky nadávka, čo následne znemožňuje akékoľvek zmysluplné dlhodobé riešenia, veľmi oslabuje demokratické inštitúty, ako i spoločenskú súdržnosť umožňujúcu jej prežitie. A toto nie je pritom špecifikum Slovenska, ide o globálny trend regresu.Čaká nás doba populistov, otázkou je ako ustrážiť aspoň tých, ktorí ešte majú nejaké hodnoty, tvrdí v Ráno Nahlas sociológ Michal Vašečka. Hľadanie stratených pozícií, či pokorný návrat k prvopočiatkom? Začína sa Františkova synoda (podcast)Napriek tomu, že Slovensko žije povolebným časom, svet si ide ďalej. Volodymir Zelenskyj napríklad stále hlasnejšie klope na bruselské dvere európskeho spoločenstva, Poliaci sa paradoxne stále viac rozdeľujú pred dôležitými voľbami a zo Švédska deň po dni zaznievajú mená nových laureátov na Nobelovu cenu. Z Vatikánu sa zas „ozývalo“ ticho programového stíšenia sa pred udalosťou, ktorá vôbec nie je bežná. Práve dnes sa začína posledná etapa veľkého projektu pápeža Františka – celosvetovej synody. Pozrieme sa na ňu s Mariánom Prachárom, katolíckym kňazom a farárom v Rusovciach pri Bratislave. Hľadanie stratených pozícií, alebo pokorný návrat k prvopočiatkom, pri ktorých stál samotný historický Ježiš, v ktorom vidí svoj počiatok kresťanstvo? Ako chápať synodu, ktorej posledná fáza sa práve dnes začína vo Vatikáne? „Po skončení prvej fázy debát sa ľudia nepozerali ani tak na ich výsledky, čo sa napísalo a poslalo do ústredia na Slovensku či do Ríma. Za úžasné považovali už fakt, že sa vôbec stretli a počúvali. Že mohli vyjadriť svoj názor. Dúfali pritom, že sa to neskončí synodálnymi stretnutiami vo farnostiach“, hovorí o skúsenosti so synodálnou cestou na Slovensku. Kňaz Marián Prachár práve toto považuje za „pravú synodalitu pápeža Františka“. „Mali by sme sa zbližovať, vedieť sa počúvať a tiež sa spolu angažovať“, dopĺňa. Synody v katolíckej cirkvi nie sú ničím novým. Novým je prístup k nim zo strany pápeža Františka. Do tej aktuálnej chcel zapojiť až „kapiláry“ cirkvi a teda celé spektrum prostredia, v ktorých pôsobí katolícka cirkev. Podľa Prachára chce pápež František „mapu“ akčného rádia organizmu cirkvi, aby mohol spustiť „reformu zdola“. Aké problémy zachytil finálny dokument zo Slovenska? Nemáme podľa neho dostatočne rozvinuté schopnosti aktívneho počúvania a vedenia dialógu, je tu nechuť počúvať, neschopnosť prijímať konštruktívnu kritiku či nedostatok kritického myslenia. Zaujímavým problémom je „neschopnosť formulovať svoje túžby“. Podľa Prachára je to len dôsledok nedostatočnej kvalifikácie v cirkevnom prostredí. Dokument zachytil aj problém „nedostupnosti biskupov“ a ich „jednosmernú komunikáciu“. Nie je to aj prípad nedávneho vyhlásenia katolíckych biskupov k voľbám? Odpoveď nájdete v podcaste.
