Anne Provoost (1964) is de schrijfster van Vallen, haar allerbekendste boek. Ze schreef ook Mijn tante is een grindewal, De arkvaarders en In de zon kijken. Ze publiceerde essays en in 2022 voor het eerst een dichtbundel: Krop. Op het moment dat we elkaar spreken is net haar tweede dichtbundel klaar, Decem. Ze laat mij de drukproeven zien die op haar bureau liggen. We gaan zitten op de eerste verdieping van het huis, in de indrukwekkende bibliotheek waarvan de kasten van boven tot onder vol staan met boeken. De man van Anne Provoost is Manu Claeys, bekend als voorzitter van de burgerbeweging StRaten-generaal in Antwerpen. Hij komt midden in ons gesprek terug van een vergadering. Ze hebben samen drie kinderen: Cornelius, Martha en Basil. De laatste twee zijn allebei filosofen. Anne Provoost vertelt in deze podcast over het boek dat ze kocht toen ze in Amerika woonde, het moment dat ze de belangrijkste schrijfster in haar leven in het echt zag. In this Vale episode of the STAGES podcast, we remember Arts Historian - Frank van Straten, who passed away in April. Frank was the inaugural archivist at the Performing Arts Museum (now Australian Performing Arts Collection at Arts Centre Melbourne) and later its founding Director. Renowned as a theatre historian of supreme knowledge, Frank was the author of many publications which celebrated theatres, artists, practitioners and productions. His historical perspectives of plays and musicals were a regular feature of programs for commercial producers. Between 1986 and 2001, he researched and presented ABC Local Radio's Nostalgia segment, broadcast on Melbourne's 774 and the ABC Victorian Regional Network. He was the Historical Consultant for Graeme Murphy's ‘dance musical' Tivoli, performed by the Sydney Dance Company, and given his tremendous knowledge, he frequently accepted invitations to contribute information to considerable books, speeches, biographies, performance and exhibitions.  In recognition of his services to the performing arts in Australia, Frank van Straten was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1999. Frank's passion for our performing heritage was palpable. With an ability to talk at length on any subject to do with the performing arts in Australia he was the perfect guest for the podcast.I'm so grateful he agreed to a conversation for the STAGES podcast. He was a gentleman of the theatre who I much admired. We recorded this conversation for Series One of the podcast in 2018.Like everyone, I am deeply saddened by the passing of dear Frank. Budeme čeliť dobe zahnívania, Slovensko si to však rozhodne nemôže dovoliť. Systém nadsluhuje už aj vo svojich základných atribútoch a pád bude hodne bolestivý. Pozrieme sa na ňu s Mariánom Prachárom, katolíckym kňazom a farárom v Rusovciach pri Bratislave. Theo Maassen begint dit weekend als presentator van het tv-programma Zomergasten. Zes zondagen praat hij drie uur lang met één gast, die aan de hand van film- en tv-fragmenten zijn of haar favoriete televisieavond samenstelt. Best een lange zit voor iemand met veel onrust in zijn lijf, zegt Maassen over zichzelf. Hij schuwt ook het ongemak en de ontregelende of soms harde opmerkingen niet, dus de verwachting is dat zijn presentatie spannende televisie gaat opleveren.  In deze podcast vertelt schrijver, columnist, bierbrouwer en goede 'vriend van' - Henk van Straten over de Theo Maassen zoals hij die kent. Školstvo je stále v ére Márie Terézie. Nerozvíjame vnútornú motiváciu detí a dusíme ich prirodzenú zvedavosť. V školách vyrábame umelý systém, ktorý je odtrhnutý od života a deti tomu dobre rozumejú. Žiakov berie ako partnerov a tvrdí, že deti potrebujú poznanie príčin a súvislostí a najmä zmysluplné aktivity, ktoré môžu aplikovať v reálnom živote.  Ja sa na svojich žiakov pozerám ako na svojich budúcich susedov, sú to pre mňa partneri. Beriem ich ako ľudí, ktorí budú o niekoľko rokov riadiť túto spoločnosť a chcem im teraz odovzdať čo najviac aby mi to potom mohli vrátiť. To sú slová Rastislava Očenáša, Učiteľa Slovenska za rok 2022. Nesmierne charizmatického a veľmi inšpiratívneho človeka, ktorý sa rozhodol venovať svoju energiu, záujem, ale aj svoju tvorivosť a invenciu našim deťom. Takých ako on nie je veľa, ale čím to vlastne je, že ich je tak málo? Prečo je, aspoň podľa štatistických prieskumov, vzdelanie tak hlboko v rebríčku našich priorít a čo učiteľom skutočne chýba? Aká je úroveň vzdelávania našich detí a je to ešte stále o ére Márie Terézie alebo sme sa už dokázali posunúť aspoň o slepačí krok do 21. storočia? A čo známky a domáce úlohy?
