Masia One – Love, Sex, and Hip HopAir Date: Monday, 30 May 2022 at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PTTuesday, 31 May 2022 at 9:00 AM SingaporeWatch the Livestream on the OMTimes Magazine Facebook, OMTimes Radio & TV Facebook, or OMTimesTV YoutubeWhen she first entered the music scene, she was an Asian woman in a Western country. Against the odds, Singapore-born, Canada-bred Masia One made a name for herself in Hollywood. Her work has evolved from breaking Asian stereotypes to empowering women, particularly in the realm of sexuality. In December 2020, Masia and fellow artiste Elaine Lim, also known as General Ling, created the song “Not All That Glitters Is Gold” after a headlining artiste allegedly sexually assaulted a member of her team. On International Women's Day March 8 this year, Masia One released “Vulva Vocabulary”, a body-positive message to #BreaktheBias. This episode will discuss Masia One's recent marriage, health scare, hip hop, and more! Stay tuned! Masia One is that 1 in a million. Born in Singapore, and raised in Canada, she earned her stripes in the American music industry; this artist is reconnecting with her roots in Asia and re-emerging as the Far East Empress. Masia One is not only an artist but also an entrepreneur and cultural ambassador. Her music cuts through the drone of life, inspiring people to reign as their royal selves. Her journey has been an unlikely path to becoming a full-time Hip Hop artist after graduating in Architecture from the University of Toronto. Her unique sound and courageous journey paved the way for her work with top artists and eminent producers such as Pharrell, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Che Vicious (G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West, Jay-Z). Her music has also been featured on Netflix series like Tiny Pretty Things, Snowpiercer, Wu Assassins, and Altered Carbon, and sampled for the title track for Fast & Furious 8.#Love #Sex HipHop #MasiaOne #ErosEvolution #DrMarthaTaraLeeIG @masiaoneFB: https://web.facebook.com/MasiaOne/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/masiaoneSoundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/masiaone/tracksWebsite: https://www.masiaone.com/Visit the Eros Evolution show page https://omtimes.com/iom/shows/eros-evolution/Connect with Dr. Martha at http://www.eroscoaching.com/Subscribe to our Newsletter https://omtimes.com/subscribe-omtimes-magazine/Connect with OMTimes on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Omtimes.Magazine/ and OMTimes Radio https://www.facebook.com/ConsciousRadiowebtv.OMTimes/Twitter: https://twitter.com/OmTimes/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/omtimes/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/2798417/Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/omtimes/

***NOTE: I sell the High Quality download with the tracks separated/numbered/labeled with the song title so you can skip and rewind(I haven't released the tracklist to the public). Also, the download audio quality is much better than streaming quality, or trying to download the stream (Soundcloud compresses the audio to make it sound worse). If you're interested, just email me at promoguy1@gmail.com and I'll take care of you. For those of you who aren't familiar with the 1st volume, I had an idea to create a series of mixes containing 90’s dancehall reggae artists over 90’s hip hop beats. Everything from popular hits to obscure white label-only remixes, including my own custom blends of 90’s reggae acapellas over hiphop instrumentals from that time period. What began as a casual one-off “best of” type mix, evolved into a multi-volume obsession. I even learned to produce my own party breaks just for this project. The response from Vol. 1 has been great. It's received over 20,000 streams across all platforms and counting (not including downloads), and received blog coverage from the USA to Germany to Japan. Special shout out to DJ Arems, Deejay Theory & Largeup.com for being the first to spotlight it on their weekly feature 'Mixtape Mondays'. I had some time over the winter break, and finally managed to finish up Vol. 2 of the series. I tried to keep a lot of elements that people liked from part 1, as well as add some new elements to switch it up a bit. The first 40 mins of this mix starts with an uptempo, early 90's boom-bap feel. The next 50 mins segues into mid-tempo, mid-90's vibes. I've decided to keep the tracklist under wraps for now. Reason being, I always found it more fun to not know what's next. There was a certain thrill when I heard a dope track, but couldn't identify it. In this age of digital playlists where everything is meticulously labeled, I felt I'd try to bring back some of the mystique of the mixTAPE era. Some of my favourite mixtapes that I bought back in the 90's had no tracklist at all...I had to figure it out for myself. I appreciate those tapes that much more because of it. For those of you who absolutely MUST have a tracklist, I'll eventually type one up and put it out.....but I'll let this mix marinate with you for a bit. A lot of time, effort, and work went into creating this mix, so I hope my experiment works and you find yourself coming back for multiple listens, instead of skimming through it once and forgetting about it forever. Feel free to contact me with your feedback....I'd love to know what people think, and I'm open to suggestions for the next volume. I gotta largeup my old friend Masia One for blessin me with the cover art. The old 90's Reggae party poster style fits the vibe of this mix perfectly. Check out my Mixcloud page for full-length mixes, and my YouTube or Audiomack pages for single blends/remixes.
Hello Beastsiders!! Today's episode is a grand return to our ongoing theme show series, THEMATIC For The People. The theme here is music from the Street Fighter video game series by CAPCOM. At the beginning of each set, you'll hear a remix of an SF composition---a lot of them covered in an interesting new musical style. These fanmade remixes do great tribute to the originals, and take the works in fantastic new directions. Follwing the remix tunes are original Beastly tunes (linked by genre similarity in each set) to make a fun, organic blend of music. Links for the artists are in the tracklist, and check out their wonderful work! Attention, Athens, Georgia! The weekend of March 19-22 will mark the 2nd annual Sling Shot Festival. Sling Shot's spread is all over the downtown Classic City district, with many venues featuring music artists (such as Kishi Bashi and local favorites Elf Power), stand-up comedians (Doug Benson of "Super High Me" and "Last Comic Standing" fame, Jonah Ray--who's been behind the scene on The Andy Milonakis show and featured on The Sarah Silverman Program, and Atlanta's own Josh Harris), technology/new media showcases, and fantabulous exhibitions of art. Of Beastly interest is the Saturday (3/21) event at New Earth Music Hall. That evening will be the site of the touchdown of the nationwide Japan Nite 2014 tour, featuring a fresh crew of musicians! Headliners are the ever-entertaining Peelander-Z, and also providing awesome sounds are Jungles (of Bacteria Vacuum), Zargani$, Vampillia, and HAPPY. You'll hear more about the JN show in this episode. Check www.japan-nite.com for times and dates, and locations near you for the upcoming shows. You'll hear the Polite one talk fanboy, giving you the lowdown on 2 fine comic book shop in the Athens/Watkinsville areas (Bizarro Wuxtry and Mr. Comic Shop), and mention a great site to find comic book stores in your area. If you're a DC Comics/Justice League fan, pop open a side link for the fantastic and Lego-tastic fan production, "Justice League: Gods Among Us" by the marvelous OUTBACKPRIME PRODUCTIONS.
