Send us Fan MailIn this episode, Virgil and Bob discuss Sacheverell, originally published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, March 1964.If you want a refresher, you can listen to the story and our conversation with Ryan Sprinkle.https://youtu.be/NzyRt4Z3Zbo?si=5s39FQGpHyx2h5gv Episode Summary: Virgil and Bob dive into one of Avram Davidson's wonderfully strange and darkly funny tales, where appearances, assumptions, and human nature all get turned upside down. Sacheverell mixes absurdity, social commentary, and Davidson's trademark oddness into a story that starts with a mysterious figure in a room and unfolds into something far stranger than expected. Along the way, expect discussion about fear, prejudice, manipulation, who the real "beast" might be, and how Davidson somehow manages to make readers laugh while making them slightly uncomfortable at the same time. Also likely: detours into Davidson himself and appreciation for stories that become weirder the longer you think about them. Are you as fascinated as I am with the intersection of faith and influence(rs)? In this episode of Culture Changers, I sit down with debut novelist Alli Hoff Kosik, author of the buzzworthy Too Blessed to Stress, for a way deeper conversation that I thought. We are talking Christian megachurches, influencer culture, and the razor-thin line between faith and performance. If you're fascinated (or horrified) by fundamentalist Christianity, religious trauma, sought-after belonging, social media collectives, or how women shape culture from the back pew and the algorithm, let me tell you, this episode is for you. We dig into Allie's process researching evangelical culture, what it's like growing up on the religious outside, and how she crafted four female protagonists who are as complex, messy, and relatable as your own group chat. Plus, we get real about performative faith, power dynamics for women in church, and why changing your mind in public can cost you everything. Whether you're a church kid, a proud skeptic, or just obsessed with pop culture, this is a smart, bold, and oddly comforting conversation about spirituality, social identity, and what true community really looks like. You'll walk away with big questions, fresh empathy, and a new favorite novel to bring to your book club. We talk about: The search for authentic belonging and community Navigating performative faith versus genuine spirituality Social media's impact on religious identity Female ambition and empowerment within church culture Secrets, public personas, and the influencer economy Empathy for differing worldviews and experiences The complexities of institutional religion today Timestamps: 00:00 Too Blessed to Stress 05:42 TLC, Religion, and Influence 08:49 Religious Celebrations and Longing 13:34 Secrets, Faith, and Influencer Struggles 16:52 Trishy: Faith, Friendship, Content 19:37 Faith, Scandal, and Self-Discovery 21:51 Researching Influencers and Communities 26:23 Culture, Media, and Human Context 33:01 The Cost of Public Beliefs 37:41 Belonging, Perception, and Empowerment 43:03 Rethinking Community and Belonging —--------------------------------------------------------- To Connect With Alli: Get Alli's Book: https://allihoffkosik.com/too-blessed-to-stress Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/allihoffkosik Website: https://allihoffkosik.com/ To Connect With Me: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/allison__hare LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/allisonhare/ Website: https://allisonhare.com Book a free podcast clarity call with Allison: https://allisonhare.com/freecall Be sure to rate, review, and follow this podcast on your player and also, connect with me IRL for more goodness and life-changing stuff.Schedule a FREE podcast clarity call with me - Your future audience is out there. The thing about The Centre…is you never really leave. The gang circles back to “Cult Fiction” to chat with guest star Tamara Mello, aka Sherri, about what it was to like appear on one of the most iconic, and absurd, episodes of Boy Meets World ever. Tamara also shares some behind the scenes memories from her time in the ‘90s classic, “She's All That,” and stories from working with a young Ryan Murphy on the TV show, “Popular.” And even though she stepped away from acting a few years ago, it appears things can always change. Some of you BMW fans are apparently STILL mad at her for luring Shawn into a cult, but we couldn't be happier to talk to this very fun guest on an all-new Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The moment you've been waiting for has arrived! It's time for the infamous (and very special) “Shawn joins a Cult” episode - and on a sadder note: the end of Mr. Turner on Boy Meets World. Rider takes us through his memories of this insane episode, with last minute re-writes and the fastest cult conversion in the history of TV. With an episode this intense and iconic, we had to break it into 2 parts! So here's a hug in the form of a podcast, from your friends at The Centre, on an all-new Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We're taking a bit of a detour through our nostalgic trip back through the action shows of yesteryear, with a Very Special Season of Feeny. That's right, we're checking out the cheesy, cringy, gather the family around to watch a 23 minute attempt to tackle serious societal issues. And first up, BOY MEETS WORLD takes on the wackadoo world of cults. And of course, we get to shine a spotlight on the “real” Mr. Feeny, who appears in this episode with 100% less tire but about 1000% more fire. Got something to say? Send it in to feeny@baldmove.com. In this very special episode we take a look at the Boy Meets World Episode, Cult Fiction When Shawn is pressured into thinking about life after high school by Mr. Turner, he is convinced to join a cult, called The Centre, by Sherri, a fellow student. Shawn is totally brainwashed and refuses to leave, despite attempts to persuade him by Turner, Cory, Mr. Feeny, and the Matthews. When Turner gets into a motorcycle accident, though, Shawn is forced to confront the issue head on. He brings along Mr. Mack, the leader of The Centre, who is not welcomed and is even threatened by Mr. Feeny and Alan. Cory and Topanga then force Shawn to see Mr. Turner in his badly banged up condition, and they make him stay in the room and deal with it. Following a moving monologue in which Shawn talks to God, Shawn exits the room and realizes the truth about Mr. Mack and The Centre. Ben Savage ... Cory Matthews William Daniels... In this chapter, Jillian and Jerry we hang out at two Chubbies as we start to realize that Shawn WANTS to put himself into dangerous situations with complete reckless abandon. Or is it just thrill seeking gone awry? Either way, he's done it again as everyone in his life bands together to rightfully take down the mentally and quite obviously physically abusive Mr. Mack - anyone in 2023 who doesn't know what "hugs" represents, especially in the Disney company, you're an absolute fool. Alan finally steps up and uses his evil for good with Feeny as his trusty sidekick and Eric slowly burrows into a secret organization to tear down its fabrics piece by piece. This all could have been perfect, but then instead deus ex machina steps in and we get the most cringeworthy thing we have ever seen on Boy Meets World.
L'intervista integrale sarà disponibile domani, proprio su Unica Radio!
Guilty pleasure: film romantici.

In this episode of The Editor’s Desk, Michael J. Matt provides all the arguments you’ll need against that crazy uncle who’s still wearing the hazmat suit to the grocery store, or the nutty aunt who still thinks Pope Francis the Globalist is on her side. First up, Francis: This time he’s teaming up with the radical Left for a conference on world health which includes the expertise of Dr. Fauci, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and pro-abort Chelsea Clinton. In 2018 it was Katy Perry. This year it's Chelsea Clinton. Francis is literally hosting the abomination of desolation at the heart of Christendom. Next up, Vaccination Fascination: Are you afraid of dying of Covid? Is your crazy uncle? Does he know that his chances of being hospitalized if he gets Covid are exceptionally low? Don't you think somebody ought to tell him? TV Lefty Bill Maher does, and so does traditional Catholic Michael Matt. In fact, Michael Matt and Bill Maher are in agreement on Covid. It’s time for the media and radical Left to stop politicizing health care while serving up 24/7 panic porn against Uncle Gullible. The takeaway? The Great Reset crowd may be losing their stranglehold. Especially here in America, the sheep—liberal and conservative—have had enough of the stupid!Stay Connected to RTV. Plus Christopher Fowler, Clare Walker Gore and Lynda Nead look back at bestsellers from the past which deserve re-reading and the way movies and fiction of the 1950s reflected both the smog and fashions of post-war British culture. Christopher Fowler's The Book of Forgotten Authors catalogues 99 writers whom he thinks should be better known. The Prisoner first aired in Canada in 1967 and ran for 17 episodes. I am (not) a Number: Decoding The Prisoner by Alex Cox is published later this year. The Tiger in the Smoke: Art and Culture in Post-war Britain by Professor Lynda Nead is published by London and New Haven: Yale University Press / Paul Mellon Studies in British Art.Clare Walker Gore is a New Generation Thinker based at the University of Cambridge who has edited a critical edition of Dinah Mulock Craik's out-of-print novel A Noble Life, published by Victorian Secrets - an independent publisher which makes available scholarly editions of unjustly neglected Victorian novels.
