This mix is a recording from a recent event at the Civic Underground club in Sydney.It was the gloves off set for Mark Farina who had just done a four hour harbour boat party for Mushroom Jazz earlier that evening.I was asked if I wanted to do the closing set, and who would I wanted to go b2b with.Two names immediately came to mind, Ritmiq, a deep and minimal house DJ who I rate highly and iLLya Cooper a well known Sydney legend.  In the end I went with iLLya, because of his long standing friendship with Mark, having played alongside him on many previous tours.A lot of people thought I was brave and a little crazy trying to play b2b with such a skilled DJ, but I wanted to be challenged.I had iLLya come onto my radio show a couple of days before the event to see how we could sound together.  You can check out the show here.The atmosphere in the club was pretty special, the crowd was very knowledgable and a real mix of ages.  Mark got them fired up good and proper and before we knew it, we were up.iLLya started our set off and played for the first 15 minutes.  We then went back and forth for the next hour and a half.  As you can hear iLLya drops acappellas and vocal hits all through the mix, scratching and chopping.  It was a wild experience but so much fun. I dropped my latest track "London Nights" and was blown away by the response.  Everything seemed to change on the dancefloor, different people were suddenly at the front of the dancefloor in front of me and they were giving it some.  It felt amazing seeing people connect and enjoy something you have created.I really hope to get the chance to play b2b with iLLya again.  A longer set would be magic as we were just getting into our stride.For anyone in Sydney you can catch me at Tatler tomorrow night where I have the whole night to myself!!!  Four hour set where I can stretch my legs and play some incredible music from the last 35 years of house.The following Saturday (21st), I am back at the Civic again for Night Safari.  I'll be picking up where I left off.Finally, on NYE I'll be playing for Boogie at the Ivy Ballroom supporting none other than DJ Spen and Dave Lee (Joey Negro)!It's been a great year for DJing out for me, fingers crossed that 2025 continues in the same direction.Enjoy!

Sabatini parla dei tanti sacrifici che ha fatto per mesi per arrivare a Singapore insieme al Team Nazionale Italiana Cuochi e dell'incredibile risultato che è riuscito a raggiungere, specialmente per la sua giovane età. Il campione racconta come la sua passione per la pasticceria sia nata fin da quando era piccolo: «Ho cominciato a fare bignè a otto anni e poi non ho più smesso». Il tema della competizione, per la pasticceria, è stato Night Safari e la consegna era interpretare 3 portate: la prima composta da sei dessert al piatto da terminare in cinque ore con indicazioni e limiti imposti dall'organizzazione, la seconda era la creazione di una torta con molti vincoli, tra cui il non poter utilizzare stampi o la catena del freddo, infine una scultura in cioccolato composta da almeno 80% di cioccolato e 20% di zucchero artistico. L'Italia è riuscita quindi ad essere la vincitrice e a portare a casa l'oro, complimenti a Mattia Silvio e Luca!

I've been a fan of Patrick Wolf since he was a kid. A figure in and around the Teen-C scene that mattered so much to me as a teenager, when Patrick Apps became Patrick Wolf, and released a string of perfect records – my favourite remains 2007's The Magic Position, but in my opinion, none of his six records to date have been anything less than perfect– he was well on his way to being one of my all-time favourite musicians. And then in 2012 he disappeared, more or less. He played a few shows, guested with a few important acts – most notably with the great Patti Smith – but for the largest part, Patrick went to ground. He's not quite ready to talk about everything that went on in that time, maybe he never will be, but finally he's back, with a new EP, The Night Safari, due to be released on April 14th. It's his first new music in a decade. This is his first interview in “at least seven years”. I don't probe Patrick in this episode - although obviously I am curious about that lost decade - because much of what we talk about in this episode is establishing boundaries between artist and human; Patrick Wolf the exotic animal, and Patrick Apps the person, a person who has seemingly spent much of his time away growing and healing and making peace with his past. But I think there's plenty of interest in this episode anyway - Patrick Wolf doesn't do boring - and I'm honoured that Patrick chose to speak to this podcast as he gears up to enter public life once more. That poem at the front end of the episode by the way? It's by the late Stephen Vickery, and read by Patrick. I've always found it graceful, beautiful, full charm.
