Katie is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist supporting Woolwich Township and the Waterloo Region. Her clinical focus is primarily orthopaedic injuries, concussion (life- or sport-related), and vestibular (e.g. inner ear) conditions. Katie is also the Lead Therapist for Sledge Hockey Team Ontario and also has worked with Waterloo County Rugby Football Club, Rugby Canada and was a member of the medical team for the 2015 Parapan Am Games. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in the Kinesiology program at Wilfrid Laurier University with a focus on visual perception and balance control for individuals with sport-related concussion. A former #1 ranked wheelchair tennis player in Canada, Joel Dembe has represented his county at numerous tournaments across the globe. Notably the 2012 Paralympics in London, and the 2015 ParaPan Am Games in Toronto, where he brought home the bronze medal in front of a hometown crowd. He recently retired from competition, and sits down with us to chat about what it’s like starting off as an athlete, and then growing into his own personal brand.

Mr. Peterson has received many honorary doctorates, including from the University of Toronto the University of Western Ontario and the University of Ottawa. In 1994 the government of France appointed him a Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honour of France. In 1995 the International Assembly of French Speaking Parliamentarians presented him with the Ordrede la Pléiade. He was awarded the Order of Ontario in 2009. In 1975 he was elected as a Member of the Ontario Legislature, and became the leader of the Ontario Liberal party in 1982. He served as Premier of the Province between 1985 and 1990, overseeing a very active period of reform and playing a major role in the country's constitutional discussions. Canadian Paralympian Amy Burk comes on to talk Goalball - a sport for the visually impaired & blind - balancing motherhood & competition, a new coaching staff, the scariest countries to visit and what it will be like to compete at home at the ParaPan Am Games in Toronto.

BlindSquare, a MIPsoft product, is the most-recognized augmented reality application for blind and low-vision travellers. BlindSquare joins the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), the primary resource for blind and low-vision Canadians, to offer free use of the BlindSquare Event iOS app (exclusively) for the 2015 PanAm and ParaPan Am Games in Toronto, Ontario during July and August.
