This week we're breaking down Phyllis' Wedding. We are joined by this episode's director, Ken Whittingham, who shares his memories of this episode and his time on The Office. And we aren't stopping there, the shimmy queen herself, Phyllis Smith, sends in audio memories for this episode as well. We jump in by discussing Pam clocking Phyllis using all of her wedding ideas, we get a 'shallow dive' on Ivan Pavlov, and we get a Dwight talking head that will be important later in the show series. Then, we go to the room where the fart happened and Phyllis Smith answers all your questions about that scene. Finally, ladies share some funny wedding memories, chat about that hilarious bouquet swat, and we end with a deleted scene that proves Phyllis didn't steal every wedding idea from Pam. See omnystudio.com/policies/listener for privacy information.

Anne Schlafly Cori, Chairman of the Eagle Forum (and daughter of Phyllis Schlafly) discusses Hollywood's attack on Phyllis' life with the upcoming FX/Hulu premiere of "Mrs. America," starring Cate Blanchett as Phyllis Schlafly. From 04/14/20.
Today's show from Wiltshire Heights Residential Care Home was very special indeed. We celebrated Phyllis' 103rd birthday with a show all about her and it was just brilliant. Everyone was on top form and it is always such a wonderful place to be.
Welcome back, dear listeners. Ginger takes us back into the Dead Asshole Archives to talk about NOT another U.S. president! Instead, we will be talking about Phyllis Schlafly, a woman who did her damnedest to screw over other women. Fierce opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment and lover of ugly doilies, Phyllis' contributions to the hellhole we are currently living in cannot be underplayed or overemphasized. And, Ren will be very sexually confused when the mini-series comes out starring Cate Blanchett. Be sexually confused with us! Citations at thisfnguypod.com.
In this episode, you'll hear from the daughters of two mothers who were murdered in 1970. Loretta Jones was killed in Price, Utah, and Phyllis O'Brien Carson was killed in French Camp, California. On the 40th anniversary of the murder of 23 year old Phyllis Murphy from Kildare town, Susan heard from Phyllis' sister Barbara Turner, who shared her story. Phyllis Murphy's naked body was discovered 28 days after she went missing while making her way home from a day Christmas shopping. For almost 20 years it looked like the mystery of who murdered Phyllis would never be solved until a development in DNA technology lead to a breakthrough. Susan went to visit Phyllis’s sister Barbara at her home in Kildare town to hear the story. Barbara and her husband kindly invited Susan to their home, so a big thanks to the Murphy family for sharing some of Phyllis’ story with Newstalk Breakfast.
In this episode, Phyllis and LaTricia talk about Phyllis' trip to St Kitts & Nevis. Phyllis had both negative and positive encounters with some of the people in St Kitts and Nevis. The positive experiences gave her hope, but the negative ones broke her heart. She wasn't expecting to be treated that way by other black people even if they come from a different culture. They explored some theories as to why Phyllis and her friend were treated poorly and what we can do to come together as a people.
In this episode of The Office, Michael gets to be in Phyllis' wedding and oh boy is he excited! When it turns out he's not really needed, Michael takes it all in stride and enjoys the wedding anyway...jk. Enjoy! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theoffive/message
Webster's dictionary defines marriage as "Two twenty something guys talk about a show that went off the air six years ago."
I'm gonna level with you guys. The second episode we review is a clip episode. Unfortunately, that hits pretty much every checkbox on our drinking game, so it hit us a little hard. Be warned, this episode may be rough. Drinkin' Josh is a show where friends who may or may not be intoxicated, review their favorite show. Episode by episode. Technical difficulties and a failure to word properly are the least of this show's worries. Tune in live on Fridays 11pm-12am at wjtb.njit.edu
We're trying out 3 or 4 opening lines for Episode 43! This week, Brian and Hilton welcome comedian Trever Carreon to the show to talk about Episode 16 of Season 3, Phyllis' Wedding! We're gathered here today to celebrate the joining of two gold medals, Phyllis Lapin and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, in holy mawwaige, and you better not try and crash this wedding, because Dwight will have his eye on you (and Uncle Al!) If the decorations look familiar, it's no surprise, especially to Pam. And make sure you wear the appropriate colors for a wedding, unless you're Kelly, who looks amazing in white. No matter what, stay for the reception, where the best damn Police cover band in northeastern Pennsylvania will perform, and for a little cash, they'll play your favorites, too! All this and more at the link below!
In this edition, we are talking with artist, Phyllis Baldino, whose underwater piece, which is still in progress on a larger scale, is the most recent project to appear on In-Between Theories. Phyllis Baldino began working in video in 1993 with her "Gray Area" series, which encompasses practices of sculpture, performance, and video. She has recently returned from France where she installed a nine-channel video called, Nothing From the Future, as well as a single-channel piece called, Now Is Here, for the Videoformes Festival of Digital Arts. The untitled video for In-Between Theories is a forty-one second loop. The content of which is a shag rug, two feet clad in nice Italian socks in a tub of water. The combination is both funny and playful, and knowing Phyllis' work, it has connections to the way she uses video as an extension of the body, rather than the eye, and also connections to ideas of fluctuation in both, time and space, and the simple deconstruction of domestic objects.
Phyllis Smuland, the Canine Counselor, discusses beginning signs of fear aggression in puppies and how to help the puppy. She also talks with me about normal dog behavior, resource guarding, how to tell if a fearful dog will progress rapidly, and many other dog training tips. For the dog owner and dog trainer alike, Phyllis' wealth of knowledge will help anyone interested in dogs.

On today's show Lady P welcomes back Carol (2015) screenwriter, Phyllis Nagy, for an in-depth discussion of Phyllis' all-time-favorite film, Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard (1950). Phyllis isn't the only one celebrating her glorious return to Flixwise. This is also the second appearance of one Norma Desmond, or rather Lady P's rather embarrassing imitation of the silent age film star. Norma first appeared on our original Sunset Boulevard episode, which features Professor Joseph McBride offering behind the scenes details of the filming of this Wilder classic. Today we're paying another visit to that old familiar street with Phyllis' personal take on the depiction of 1950s Hollywood. Lady P and Phyllis discuss their reactions to Gloria Swanson's bold representation of an aged actress, and how William Holden serves as an important ballast to Swanson's electric performance. Then Phyllis sets out to debunk some popular interpretations of the film - namely that it's either satirical or Campy. Phyllis tells listeners why she thinks critics often confuse a lack of sentimentality with satire, and offers up evidence for why she thinks Wilder was completely sincere in his depiction of these characters. Plus, Lady P and Phyllis offer up comparisons to other films of this era including All About Eve (1950), Sudden Fear (1952), and What Ever Happened To Baby Jane (1962) and talk about why Sunset Boulevard is truly "the greatest of them all". And if you haven't already please go back and listen to Phyllis' previous episode in which she goes into detail on the making of Carol. Plus she and Lady P offer up a couple of suggestions on Isabelle Huppert movies that all film buffs should seek out.
Alex and Phyllis talk about metal, made up history, Phyllis' trip to Washington D.C, and whale blindness. Alex also welcomes comedian Sal Calanni back to the podcast and talks to him about the NBA playoffs and his new comedy album "Little Dago" that's available now on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. What can I say about Phyllis Linda Hyman that hasn’t been said before? I’ll just speak from the heart. This is a lady that I have admired ever since I was a child. I used to pick up her albums and be overwhelmed by her beauty and her grace. When I would put my headphones and listen to her Living All Alone album, I would allow her words to take me to another time and space. Phyllis is synonymous with the word sophisticated and even that word isn’t enough to capture the essence of who she is/was. On what would’ve been Phyllis' 65th birthday, I wanted to honor in the best way that I knew how and that was with this fantastic tribute show. On this episode of The Soul Brother Show – The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk, it’s all about the music, life, and legacy of this incomparable entertainer. Allow these songs to remind you of the first time you heard them and where you were when you felt the power of Phyllis’ vocals. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, you too are in for a treat. As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
