Then I remember how much fun we had riding that old go-cart, and I figure it's worth all the trouble to fix it. It's kind of like that with visiting your aunt and uncle. It's getting harder and harder, but I know a visit would really encourage them. When we put in some creative effort to show someone we care, we're showing them the same kind of love Jesus shows us." "We'd keep far enough away so we wouldn't give Aunt Vicky our germs, but we'd still be able to cheer them up."Dad liked that. "That's being creative, Brenda. I think they'd appreciate that a lot. Our featured interview tonight is with Eric DeVito. Eric is a 26-year old pipe smoker from Chicago, recently moved to Arizona. His interview is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. He's been smoking a pipe for 8 years. Pipes have always appealed to him since he was 5-years old when he went with his dad to visit his Uncle Al. The two men smoked cigars on this visit, but he saw his uncle's pipe rack and never forgot about it. He brought his intrigue to fruition when he was 18 years old and started smoking pipes. At the top of the show, we'll have an “Ask the Pipemaker” segment with pipe artisan Jeff Gracik, and this time the question comes from Brian.

Her grandfather was Ralph Capone, listed in 1930 as Public Enemy #3 by the Chicago Crime Commission. That makes her the grandniece of Public Enemy #1: Al Capone. As a child, she didn't know he was a notorious gangster ... he was just her Uncle Al. She sat on his knee and traded "knock-knock" jokes with him. He taught her how to swim, ride a bike, and play the mandolin. But after he died on her seventh birthday she began paying the price of being a Capone. From age 7 to 13 her classmates were not allowed to play with her. Just before her 11th birthday her father committed suicide due to the burden of the Capone name. At age 18 she was fired from her first full-time job because of her name. These circumstances made Deirdre determined to find out more about her family history and to write this book. Over the course of many years she had countless conversations with her grandfather Ralph, as well as Al's other brothers and only sister, Al's wife, and his only child, Sonny. Some were more open than others, and each made her promise to not publish anything until all of them were dead and buried. Deirdre is the last member of Al's family born with the name Capone. She is literally …the last of the Capones. Finally, after all these years she is able to share things about Al Capone and his family that none of his many biographers ever knew. Younger cousin of Mark Jr. and Jack, nephew of Mark Sr. and Al, son of Kurt - this Leiter not only excels on the diamond, where his fastball has grown solidly into the 90s to go along with some nasty secondary offerings, but he's truly carved out his own identity. Cam grew up as a hockey star in Western Canada and didn't even step foot in New Jersey until just before the start of his sophomore year when Cam returned to the high school that Uncle Al put on the baseball map in 1984, when he led Central Regional to a state title long before his fantastic MLB career. Central hasn't won one since - but got close last year, winning the Ocean County Tournament and taking eventual state champ Ocean City to 11 innings before losing, 3-2. Will 2022 be the year? Cam talks about the rabid Central fan base, the fun of HS baseball, growing up hockey-first, what he's learned from watching other family members succeed - and much more - in an awesome edition of Generation Next!

Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep   David Bowens saw a promising career at the University of Michigan, where he was a two-sport star who set the Wolverines single-season mark for sacks as a sophomore, derailed due to behavioral issues. Despite transferring to Western Illinois and playing just one season there, Bowens was selected in the fifth round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Three years and four teams later, Bowens found a home in Miami and spent half of his professional career with the Dolphins (2001 – 2006).
