A Campy horror film for a new generation.
It was no simple affair to get their schedules to line up - but it was worth it for Another Simple Favor! All three Legendary Ladies are back at it to review the Amazon Prime's buzzing film starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Amy, Kat, and Morgan dive into the film and find that they have different opinions on the film…which might have something to do with the fact that one of them *cough* Amy *cough* hadn't seen the original. Can you still enjoy Another Simple Favor without the first Favor? Is there too much camp in Capri, or is the campiness the vermouth for a perfect martini? Does the [perceived] drama between Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively seep into the film? All this and more (including a display of the host hats, and a history lesson for Kat about a completely irrelevant period of time) on this newest episode of the Legendary Ladies Podcast! This week on the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast, we dive into a bloody fairy tale twist, some high-stakes espionage, and a terrifying date night from hell—plus a couple of drum beats and a vampire classic for good measure. The Death of Snow White Directed by Jason Brooks – Starring Sanae Loutsis This isn't the Disney version. Snow White is on the run from her wicked stepmother and finds herself aligned with a group of seven dwarves… who are less "Hi-Ho" and more "psycho." Expect gore, survival horror, and a dark twist on a childhood favorite. Warfare Directed by Alex Garland & Ray Mendoza – Starring Will Poulter, Charles Melton, Joseph Quinn A gritty war drama where a Navy SEAL surveillance mission in Iraq goes horribly wrong. Packed with tension, chaos, and Garland's signature existential dread. Count Me In Directed by Mark Lo – Featuring Stewart Copeland, Claire Ferguson, Chad Smith, Clem Burke A celebration of rock's heartbeat—this documentary features some of music's most iconic drummers sharing what it means to keep time and create rhythm. Warning: you might be inspired to buy a drum kit afterward. The Amateur Directed by James Hawes – Starring Rami Malek, Laurence Fishburne, Rachel Brosnahan After losing his wife in a terrorist attack, a CIA codebreaker goes rogue. Fueled by grief and intelligence, he sets out on a globe-spanning mission of revenge when the agency fails him. Drop Directed by Christopher Landon – Starring Meghann Fahy, Brandon Sklenar What starts as a romantic evening for a widowed mom quickly devolves into psychological torment when a mysterious figure threatens her family unless she commits murder. Tense, intimate, and full of suspense. Sinners Directed by Ryan Coogler – Starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Delroy Lindo Twin brothers return home hoping for peace, only to find that evil doesn't forget. A southern Gothic drama that mixes family trauma with spiritual reckoning and small-town menace. Classic Review: Fright Night (1985) Directed by Tom Holland – Starring William Ragsdale, Chris Sarandon, Roddy McDowall Teenage horror nerd Charley Brewster is convinced his new neighbor is a vampire. No one believes him, so he turns to a B-movie TV host for help. Campy, creepy, and a total ‘80s gem. Follow Us Online:

8 more 70's movie reviews in the can, and they are 1. (A Late Liz 1971) Campy “god can stop yer drinking” movie, that made me an even bigger fan of Anne Baxter. I want her to blow into many of my life's situations and read the room. 2. (A New Leaf 1971) Elaine May stars and directs this dark comedy classic. Even in 73 Walter Matthau was gettin too old for this shit. This is quite good, but he's better as a tipsy baseball coach. 3.(Under Milk Wood 1971) What the heck is this arty poetry stuff, More Elizabeth Taylor please. 4.(Murder on the Orient Express 1974) Agatha Christie murder mystery book is put on film by director Sidney Lumet in the most competent way ever, in my opinion. One of those films where every actor is here. 5.(Apple Pie 1975)New York arty guy wants more than 5 bux for walkin around money from his parents, what ever shall he do. 6.(Our Winning Season 1978) 3 teens in high school try to figure out and work towards their hopes and dreams only to run face first into patriarchy and the Vietnam war draft. 7.(The Shout 1978) Alien in the tummy guy, Dr. Frankerfurter, Superman's Mom, and Alan Bates star in this movie that is weird. Also the “Shout” itself is quite loud. 8.(Fatso 1980) Ann Bancroft writes and directs this one. Dom Deluise is trying to find love and Health in a cruel harsh world. Hey friends hang in there please. As always thanks for listening.

This book is everywhere so Katie finally gave in and immediately started a Reddit argument. Campy, rife with misogyny, reminiscent of an early 2000's teen girl series - it's something when Katie recommends Fourth Wing over another book. On this Weeks Episode Will, Ian and Nora Suffer through a movie so you don't have to. That's right, they revisit a 25 yr old "cult classic", a film that some could argue helped define a generation of young men. A movie that has a "philosophy" that bleeds directly into MAGA. A movie so many will defend as Campy fun, when it reality is a massive turd that deceived many a youth, and wasn't good enough to revisit, just maintain a pedestaled place in the minds of many (mostly men). We throw some takes folks may consider "Hot", but are in fact, and should be, Cold at this point. Because they are true.
