Prompted by the Netflix show "The Ultimatum," we needed to chat through our thoughts and feelings on giving and being given an ultimatum in real life. We discuss when and why an ultimatum might be necessary, why it could be a red flag, how it is never "black and white," and why you always need to look within first. At the top of the show Jess shares the double-standards in her relationship and we fill ya'll in on our microdosing journey so far! Let us know your thoughts on the show, we love hearing from our listeners! Follow and DM us @HERspective_podcast

We are chatting about becoming a female leader with powerhouse Krista Webster, CEO and President of Veritas Communications. Krista shares her experiences as a female starting out in the communications industry and her experience as a seasoned leader. She discusses the evolution of her climb up the corprate ladder and how that journey has shaped her leadership style today. We touch on the way women have to "show up" versus men in the corporate world, imposter syndrome, not having it all figured and the importance of giving yourself grace when you are not at your best. At the top of the show we discuss Jess' vacay plans and what's happening with our Psilocybin (shrooms) journey. You all know the saying "lives rent free in my head," well we are chatting NOT living rent free in real life on this episode. We are joined by licensed Paralegal Nadine Little of Little Paralegal Services. Recently, we have been hearing about issues with tenants and landlords coming up in our social circles. So we wanted to talk to someone that actually knows about the laws of the rental world, what rights do tenants and landlords have, dealing with "squatters" and how to protect yourself before entering into any type of rental agreement. Nadine also clears up a misconception about eviction that we were "today years old when we learned..." Highly recommend tuning in for this one if you are looking to become a landlord or a tenant. We also celebrate the first day of Mask Mandates being dropped and share a new "I was today year's old when..." We are chatting with the lovely Stephanie Sibbio of the popular insta account 100millionmoms. Stephanie has been labeled an "anti-masker" and "anti-vaxxer" due to her opinions and choices to not wear a mask or get the Covid vaccine and she shares her experiences due to these choices. We wanted to chat with Stephanie for this reason, but also because she is a health professional and has done a TON of research about this pandemic and has a lot of information as well as a different perspective that goes against the common narrative we are constantly hearing on every news channel. Stephanie reminds us of the importance to always ask questions, do your research and to be a critical thinker. It was a refreshing conversation and to learn from someone on the other side of the proverbial (covid) fence. We are joined by well known Canadian Tiktoker and content creator Julia Grandoni, and does she have a story to tell! Hers is one that feels like it could only happen in a movie, but it is very much Julia's reality. Julia tells us about how she went from serving tables at a Montreal restaurant to serving up Tik Tok ads essentially over night. It started with a video about an angry customer that went viral which led to Tik Tok sliding into her DMs! Julia talks about the importance of being her authentic self as a content creator and giving back to her community. She feels a lot of gratitude for her new found notoriety and where that has gotten her and wants to help others reach their ultimate potential too. *Trigger Warning* This episode may contain triggering subject matter - We are talking about a very frightening and upsetting, yet unfortunately a very real global issue, Human Trafficking. We are joined by Shae Invidiata the Founder of the not-for-profit organization Free-Them. Since 2010 Shae and her team of dedicated volunteers have been working towards awakening the world to the dark secrets of human trafficking by focusing on generating awareness, advocacy, education and strengthening government policies on human trafficking and the exploitation of persons. Shae talks about the importance of reframing perspectives and language around the victims of human trafficking which are primarily women and children, the most vulnerable. She also shares the staggering monetary statistics that are generated by the business/trade of humans and why that is the biggest reason it exists and continues to grow at a rapid pace as well as many other FACTS. Some of the biggest questions we had is, if "everyone" is so against the sale of children for sex and slavery, why is it still happening? Why do we not hear about it in the media? Why would governments and societies not be taking a much bigger and louder stance against it? We put these questions to you, our listeners, ask yourselves these questions. Sadly, many of the answers point in a direction we don't want to believe (think the elite). We can no longer operate under the "ignorance is bliss" mentality, it is time our societies come together and use all voices to demand the end of this abhorrent business. We need to protect our children and the exploited. Those participating and profiting off human trafficking must be exposed and brought to justice! Please listen and learn how you can take a stand and join the fight to end human trafficking. On the heels of International Women's Day we are chatting with yet another amazing and inspiring woman. A mother of two, an Educator, Researcher and soon to be Doctor, Sabrina Razack joins us to talk about gender inequality, breaking down the patriarchy and ways society needs to shift its mindset to be more inclusive. With Sabrina and Lauren both being mothers of boys we talk about the importance of educating their sons about gender equality, the type of language used when talking about women and how more men need to advocate for women's rights and that starts with the conversations we have at home with our kids. Sabrina has also worked with the Canadian Association for Canadian Women and Sport where she designed programs and resources for newcomers and Racialized females. At the University of Toronto she is a third-year PhD scholar in the graduate program for Kinesiology & Physical Education, Collaborative Specialization in Women & Gender Studies. We are almost at a full year since the pandemic really hit and shut the world down; and since then it has become the topic of most conversations. With multiple school closures, isolation, removal of organized sports and other activities children depend on for socialization and even refuge, we wanted to chat about the affects the pandemic has had and continues to have on children. Joined by Clinical therapist and social worker in children’s mental health Kayla Marques, we discuss signs, symptoms and tips on how to help children cope with the drastic changes in their lives and lifestyles; as well as points on what to look for when it comes to mental health conditions like depression and anxiety within kids. Kayla also breaks down some misconceptions about mental illness and provides a ton of valuable information and perspectives on what parents/guardians can do to help the children in their lives get through these challenging times. Warum darf man nichts erzählen? Will man anderen befreundeten Familien kein Lästermaterial liefern? Wie immer lautet die Antwort: "Keine Ahnung". Jedoch können wir eins versprechen: Marie eskaliert.
