Jamie Thomas was the first guest on today's show. He caught up with the boys as it's been a hot minute, especially with Wil Fraser. Once all caught up, they got right into the Jets talk. His thoughts on the Perfetti extension, what to expect for their top end prospect they drafted in this year's draft Viggo Björck and what the heck is going to happen with Connor Hellebuyck?! JT had all the answers.   It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.   After the break, we got into everyone's beefs from the week! Wil's beefing with Edmonton drivers, Dusty's beefing with fondue and YouTube Trev is beefing with his haircut… which apparently isn't that bad.   Like always, Reid Wilkins capped off hour two with his beef, some soccer talk and finished with his thoughts on the Elks game tomorrow night. YouTube Trev and Reid Wilkins anchor the desk today to tear into a massive weekend of Edmonton Oilers hockey operations. With roster building reaching its closing stages and young core pieces locking into place, the fellas are looking at the financial chessboard, debating development timelines, and finishing things off with the ultimate, star-studded hockey debate.   On Today's Show: The Colton Dach Valuation: The big weekend news drops right at the top of the hour. The Oilers officially signed restricted free-agent forward Colton Dach to a two-year contract extension carrying a $1.2 million AAV. Did Stan Bowman get the right price for the physical 23-year-old? The guys discuss what realistic expectations look like for Dach's first full season in the bottom six, and whether his heavy frame can provide the consistent grid-work this lineup needs. Playing the Cap Space Matrix: Now that the main roster is essentially set in stone, the Oilers still have a lingering pocket of cash to burn. Trev and Reid debate the next tactical move: Do you jump back into the market to squeeze value out of the remaining unrestricted free agents (UFAs)? Or do you pocket the space, hold the line, and weaponize that cap flexibility ahead of the trade deadline? The Matt Savoie Extension Clock: Coming off an encouraging 18-goal rookie campaign that concluded with a spectacular regular-season finale hat trick, Matt Savoie is officially eligible for his next contract extension. Do the Oilers lock him down immediately to avoid a skyrocketing price tag if he breaks out further this year, or do they wait one more season to get a larger sample size? The All-Time Oilers Ultimate Starting 6 Draft: Because it's the dead of summer, it's time to settle some scores. Trev and Reid go head-to-head in a live fantasy draft to build the greatest all-time, single-game starting lineup in Oilers history. 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, 1 goaltender. The legendary pool is deep, but roster strategy is everything. Who will put together the more dominant unit, and who gets stuck making the toughest cuts?   The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!

Reid Wilkins steps into the captain's chair to team up with former NHL netminder Joaquin Gage. Before the fellas dive headfirst into the tactical whiteboard, they have some critical tournament business to attend to. The boys open the show by shaking off the grass stains and recapping all the chaos, elite shots, and legendary laughs that went down at yesterday's highly anticipated 3rd Annual EST Golf Classic. Once the bragging rights are officially settled, the focus shifts entirely to the ice as a fascinating new era begins in Oil Country.   On Today's Show: The Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Crossroads: The biggest conversation in town centers around the longest-serving Oiler. With Stan Bowman installing Mike Babcock behind the bench, the guys debate what the tactical adjustment means for number 93. What should the realistic performance expectations be for Nuge under a notorious, black-and-white, hard-nosed coach like Babcock? Will the demanding system wear down the veteran, or will Babcock's strict emphasis on accountability and detail unlock an entirely new, elite layer of two-way play from the grizzled vet? Ducks Match Carlsson's Offer Sheet: 21-year-old Leo Carlsson is now the highest-paid player in the NHL after signing a five-year, $90M deal to stay in SoCal. How MASSIVE is that contract for young pros negotiating their next deal? Where does that leave the Ducks at cap-wise? A Storm Is Brewing: Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon decided to include his family on the Stanley Cup, which has become a lightning rod of controversy online. Not one, not two, but seven family members found themselves on Lord Stanley, after adding no actual piece to the team's Stanley Cup-winning puzzle... League-Wide NHL Rumour Mill: The offseason market is shifting gears, but front offices across North America are far from finished. Reid and Gager take a look at the rest of the National Hockey League landscape to break down the latest news, arbitration tracking, and remaining free-agent dominoes waiting to fall.   2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!

We have an absolute, definitive Edmonton Sports Talk FIRST locking down the studio this morning, Nasties! For the very first time in network history, YouTube Trev and Reid Wilkins are sitting side-by-side behind the same desk! There is a lifetime of hockey knowledge, structural analytics, and local pulse packed into this one-hour window—and with the Edmonton Oilers triggering total roster earthquakes over the last 48 hours, the boys have a volcanic whiteboard to tear apart.   On Today's Show: Trev & Reid Lay Down the Law: It's the broadcast partnership you've been begging for. The boys recap their initial chemistry, trade a few opening barbs, and immediately get to work slicing through the massive mountain of roster data dominating the city right now. Inside Stan Bowman's Blueprint: Reid updates the desk on his exclusive, heavy-hitting interview with Oilers GM Stan Bowman from yesterday's program. Bowman let loose a few massive nuggets regarding his exact philosophy behind moving Darnell Nurse's entire contract without retaining a single penny. Now that the Oilers have genuine, highly unusual financial flexibility, the guys debate the ultimate offseason crossroads: Does Bowman weaponize his open wallet on the open market immediately, or do the Oilers play a tactical waiting game until the trade deadline? The Hunt for a Top-Six Weapon: It sounds like management is far from finished. Stan Bowman explicitly teased that the Oilers are actively hunting for another elite forward to solidify the top-six group. Trev and Reid break down the remaining market board, analyze the systemic fit, and sketch out exactly what kind of forward the Oilers need to target to complement the core. The 3-Goalie Rotation is Official: It's a crowded crease in Oil Country. Bowman confirmed the Oilers will use three netminders for next season: newly signed veteran Frederik Andersen, newly acquired trade piece Devon Levi, and returning goaltender Tristan Jarry. Reid and Trev look at the waiver logistics, the injury insurance policy, and debate whether a three-headed monster in the blue paint is a stroke of structural genius or a recipe for locker-room chaos.   The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!

The mood in Edmonton hasn't lightened much since the handshake line. Gager is joined by special guest Reid Wilkins today as the fellas sift through the fallout of a disappointing first-round exit and a bombshell morning of NHL awards news that has Oilers fans—and the locker room—scratching their heads.   The Norris Snub: The NHL officially announced the Norris Trophy finalists today, and Evan Bouchard was nowhere to be found. Despite leading all NHL defensemen with a staggering 95 points (60 at even strength), Bouchard was passed over for Dahlin, Makar, and Werenski. The boys debate: Did his defensive "lapses" truly outweigh a historically elite offensive season, or is there a genuine bias against the Oilers' blueliner? Edmonton Post-Mortem: It's been a heavy week of reflection. Reid and Gager recap the "concerned" and "average" comments from the stars and what they signal for the locker room's confidence. The Firing Line: We get into the latest rumblings regarding Kris Knoblauch and Stan Bowman. After taking what Leon Draisaitl called a "big step backwards," is a management or coaching change the only way to salvage the next two years of the McDavid era? Crunching The Numbers: We take a hard look at the roster, cap space, and the lack of assets. Is there a realistic path back to the Cup Final, or is the window closing faster than we thought?   Round 2 Pulse: The bracket is moving on without Edmonton. We recap the action from the East and West: Canes in Command: Carolina holds a 2-0 lead as they head to Philly for Game 3 tonight. Avs' Offensive Explosion: Colorado is looking unstoppable after a 9-goal Game 1 and a dominant Game 2. Sabres vs. Habs: Buffalo takes the early advantage in a battle of young Atlantic rivals.   2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!
