Now, as he continues to coach goalies privately and looks at getting back into the NHL, Roloson combines all that experience into one can't miss interview. In the Parent Segment, presented by Stop It Goaltending U the App, we answer a listener question about what to look for when it comes to summer camps and activities for an eight-year-old goalie. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, which features Devon Levi sharing some great advice on how to manage in-zone turnovers as well as how to balance summer training on the ice.

It's a quick but information and advice packed interview with insights from the early days to now in the NHL.In the Parent Segment, presented by Stop It Goaltending U the App, we talk about the importance of understanding that good goalie coach, school and summer camp experiences are not always about fancy drills or exhausted kids, and knowing that quality reps might look a little different. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, which features Devon Levi of the Buffalo Sabres with another information packed breakdown from his rookie season in the NHL.And in our weekly gear segment, we go to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports to look at the incredibly light True Project X Smoke stick, with a unique look and just 555 grams for a 25-inch paddle.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Buffalo blogger and podcaster Chris to discuss both the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, including a segment devoted to eight potential upcoming scenarios for the Bills. As always this is an interesting time of the year for the Bills and every team in the NFL. It may not feel like it at the moment but championship teams are born or die over the next few months based on decisions made about players to re-sign, let walk, cut, trade away, trade for, sign in free agency and of course the NFL draft. Patrick points out eight potential scenarios that could happen with the Bills over the coming days and weeks and tasks Chris with playing general manager Brandon Beane for each. Chris discusses if he would make each proposed move or not and elaborates why. On the Sabres front the team is ready to return to action Saturday after a two week league-wide break for the Four Nations Face Off. Chris has thoughts on Lindy Ruff saying the Sabres can still back into the wild card mix by approaching games a certain way. He also comments on Jordan Greenway returning to the lineup, who he's likely playing with, why Zach Benson has been skating on the fourth line, Devon Levi owning the nets in Rochester and Chris' realistic expectations for the remaining 28 games. That plus sound issues that have plagued Talking Buffalo over the past few days, a few big show announcements and plenty more. Be sure to follow Chris on X at @2ITB_Buffalo and check out the Two in the Box blog in addition to the Instigator Podcast. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. It's time for Sabres After Dark but Devon Levi will have to participate like the rest of us as the goaltender was sent to Rochester. James Reimer will be taking over backup duties while Levi gets to take over as the starter for the Amerks. We talk about how this move is the best option for Levi's development while also reflecting on how his play led the Sabres to this decision. We also touch on the need for the Sabres to perform well on this California swing if they hope to make any headway in the standings. Additionally, we discuss Jim Montgomery's firing in Boston and how Alex Ovechkin's injury will affect his chase of the goal scoring record.
The Amerks will have faced Laval in three of four games after their skate tomorrow night in suburban Montreal. Rochester Americans head coach Michael Leone joins Danger and Battaglia in The Sports Bar to preview the game, discuss the addition of goaltender Devon Levi, and look ahead to Friday night's home tilt with Hershey. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by longtime Buffalo News reporter and columnist Mike Harrington for an extensive Buffalo Sabres training camp preview. Training camp always seems to come quietly because the Buffalo Bills are a few games into their season, but camp for the Sabres this time around is the start of what will be a critical season as the hockey club tries to end it's NHL all-time record playoff drought at 13 years. Mike has plenty of thoughts on if general manager Kevyn Adams' job hangs in the balance of making the postseason, painting a potential picture where the Sabres could miss and he still kept his job. As for camp, there doesn't appear to be a lot of roster spots that aren't already locked in but that doesn't mean it will lack for storylines. Mike has takes on if he thinks Jason Zucker or Zach Benson will get first crack to skate with Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn, is Jiri Kulich a legitimate candidate to crack the roster, how the bottom six is taking shape including newly re-signed Peyton Krebs, which makes Mike wonder if Krebs could become part of a trade. They also spend time talking about the goaltenders, if last season was the real version of UPL and how the No. 2 spot may play out between Devon Levi and James Reimer. That plus what Mike anticipates being different at camp now that Lindy Ruff is running things instead of Don Granato, what Buffalo needs to do to make the arena feel alive for home games again, the chances he thinks Buffalo makes the playoffs and tons more. Follow Mike Harrington on Twitter @ByMHarrington and of course support local journalism, which needs your support now more than ever by subscribing to The Buffalo News. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. As the season approaches we will run through each position group in Buffalo's pipeline to look at how the Sabres are shaping up and what sort of talent they have coming in the future. For the first iteration of this series, Greg Balloch of EPRinkside joins the show to discuss Buffalo's goaltenders. We kick off with a conversation on Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Devon Levi before digging into the club's prospects, with Greg providing some great insight on newly drafted Ryerson Leenders and Scott Ratzlaff.
The Buffalo Bills are itching closer to the regular season and roster spots are about to be determined. Nick and Andrew are back to break down what they've seen so far in training camp, the biggest surprises and who they look most forward to watching this pre-season. Nick talks about his day at St. John Fisher training camp and why he thinks MVS's roster spot isn't guaranteed. As Keon Coleman continues to impress, Nick and Andrew look back at the last time there was this much excitement and hype around a rookie. Finally, we close the show talking about the Sabres extending UPL for 5 years and what it means for not only the Sabres future but for Devon Levi as well. Thank you for listening!
Episode 265 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features an in-person sit down with Devon Levi of the Buffalo Sabres. In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Levi reflects on his first full season as a pro, including the benefits of -- and lessons learned from -- splitting time between the Sabres in the NHL and their AHL affiliate in Rochester. Levi also talks about how he's learned to manage expectations, the role mediation plays in the his life (off and on the ice), how his use of video review evolves, how he uses a journal to find improvements in his game and daily routines, and (fittingly given the sponsor) specifically how he uses Sense Arena in-season. In our Parents Segment, presented by the Stop It Goaltending U app, we dig into questions about sticks -- specifically choosing the right length and whether it's okay to cut down the shaft. And in our weekly gear segment, we go to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a closer look at how much has really changed in the new-and-improved Bauer 960 mask.
