Topping Beatport charts with music on U.K. underground labels Deepdowndirty and Gibbon Records and the progressive U.K. powerhouse, Pro B Tech Records. Resident on Saturo Sounds with a monthly radio and podcast series, and Identity Presents - the premier LA-based event curator, hosting and playing with Modus, Galestian, Cid Inc, Miyagi, and Dave Seaman. 2021 saw Akiva assume the role of A&R for the Saturo Sounds label imprint, releasing the "Sounds of Saturo, Vol. 2" compilation. Charting at #7 in the Melodic House and Techno, #4 in both Progressive and Organic House, #1 in Breaks, and number #4 Overall charts. Closing out the year with the #1 Progressive House release thereafter. Akiva started his journey through music with Jaco Pastorius. The rhythmically diverse and bass-driven fusion style, presented to him by his father and uncle's jazz records, prompted his purchase of an Ibanez bass guitar. Along with jazz, he developed a love of smooth tenor and alto saxophones and string sounds of the violin and viola through his love of classical music. While he was jamming out to heavy metal and classic rock in high school, Akiva discovered electronic music on NYC's KTU station. Akiva immediately started playing progressive and goa-psytrance songs with his friends at parties. House and techno music were still considered underground at that time. As the scene grew, both in NYC and abroad, he spent waking hours adding to his music collection and refining his production skills.   Our Passion is Trance & Friends presents Guest Mixes episode 5 by.  BiGGYWAWA -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Bio:   I'm BiggyWaWa, better known as Will from Cumbernauld, Scotland! I've been DJing for 21 years, almost exclusively as a hobbyist with a few gigs in between. Electronic music has been a huge passion of mine for almost since I can remember. Growing up, I lived off compilation albums and mixes before getting my first turntables aged 17 and spending hours and all my spare cash in record stores whenever I got the chance. Time spent at home experimenting with different sounds brought me through many genres which I still love to play today, uploading plenty of sets to house-mixes.com and mixcloud.com along the way.   Fast forward to the start of the pandemic and I began streaming some sets through my phone onto Facebook with the live Scottish sunset in the background as a way to connect with the friends we were all separated from. That grew into starting to play on twitch, getting the chance to play for Anjunafamily LA, where I met Serjey for the first time, and then onto my now firmly adopted online music fam with Trancefamily Canada, North UK Anjunafamily, True North Radio, and Saturo Sounds, each of which has given me friends for life and opportunities I'll always be grateful for.
