There's a theme that echoes through Dan Lanning's program at Oregon in 2025: Double Down. But for the defending regular season Big Ten champs and one of the nation's top teams “Doubling Down” is not just about repeating as Champs or getting to the College Football Playoff, it's about daily growth.Dan Lanning is the latest conversation on THE PROCESS, a limited series within Y-Option, fueled by our founding sponsor, 76® - keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat. In a detailed conversation with Rhett Lewis and myself, the Ducks head coach opened up about being exposed to the GOAT of Process, Nick Saban, and how that has impacted his life and the core DNA Traits of his program. After a statement win on the road at Penn State two weeks ago, Lanning didn't allow the emotions of an epic White Out win to linger. “Every one of our players has an improvement plan,” he told us. “One thing they must get better at.” And that goes for every unit, every coach, every staff member. That kind of clarity doesn't come from chasing results. It comes from the process that Lanning learned years ago at Alabama and Georgia which began with a simple phrase: evaluate everything. The good calls, the bad ones, the moments that worked out for the wrong reasons. As he put it, “Good process, bad result–that can happen. Bad process, good result–that can happen too.” Regardless of result, his knows he and his staff still have to fix it.And then he took it further and shared something with Rhett and I that we have never heard from a football coach. He has his players self-reflect each week. Not just verbally, but he has them write it down. And not just what worked, but what didn't and how they'll respond. Coach Lanning reads each players essay and their words give him a window into their self-awareness, and that's where real growth starts. When Coach Lanning spoke about self-awareness for his players, it landed. Because that word sits at the center of his life too. The man who once drove from Kansas City to Pittsburgh just to chase a coaching job now balances the same fire at Oregon with grounded perspective. His wife's battle with cancer reshaped how he sees the world. “There is no balance in this profession,” he admitted. But when he gets a moment to have dinner with his wife or watch his son's football game–Coach Lanning is all in.In a sport where everyone's watching the scoreboard, Dan Lanning is focused on the present while building a culture that values honesty over hype, process over panic, and connection over control. And if you walk into his locker room, he says, you'll see that the rest of the world could learn from the young men in it.That's The Process. That's Growth. And it's working in Eugene. For past episodes of THE PROCESS be sure to check out Peyton Manning, Chris Fowler and Mark Jackson as their process as professionals, husbands and fathers may impact your life.Much love and stay steadyYogiY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. I've been skeptical of AI for a long time - tired of the hype, the slop, and the talk about replacing developers. But as a one-person business, I can't ignore its potential. In this episode, I break down why I'm doubling down on AI for the next few months: testing its limits, exploring real use cases, and seeing if it actually makes my life easier… or if I'll end up saying I was right to be skeptical all along. ---------------------------------------------------

In this continuation, Colleen shares how West Virginia shifted her in ways she didn't see coming. She found herself in a community where image didn't matter, where people belonged by being present, not by performing. That freedom to be—messy hair, bare face, imperfect and real—awakened something deeper: the possibility of self-trust. The relationships and experiences from that time became a compass she carried forward. Even as life evolved, that season revealed what authenticity feels like, and how quickly it disappears when we chase approval instead of honoring ourselves.

In this episode of the All Things Sustainable podcast we bring you the latest in our special series featuring major pension funds around the world. We sit down with Shahida Jaffar, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Malaysia's Employees Provident Fund (EPF). EPF was established in 1951 to safeguard the retirement future of the Malaysian workforce; it reported about 1.31 trillion Malaysian ringgit (US$310 billion) in total investment assets and more than 16 million members as of June 30, 2025. In the interview, Shahida explains EPF's evolving sustainable investment strategy; the role nature plays in the organization's approach to sustainability; and how the pension fund balances priorities — like the need for returns, net-zero commitments and ensuring that the energy transition is just. “In the market right now, there's polarization in terms of those who are pursuing sustainability even stronger and those who are pulling back,” Shahida tells us. “In the case of EPF, we're doubling down.” Read research from S&P Global Sustainable1 about companies' nature risks and dependencies: How the world's largest companies depend on nature and biodiversity | S&P Global Learn about S&P Global Sustainable1's Nature & Biodiversity dataset. In this episode, I'm joined by Sora Schilling, a certified life coach and mastermind mentor who's done something incredible—she's built her entire business strategy around masterminds, and the results speak for themselves. Sora guides visionary individuals ready to build businesses that are as sustainable as they are spacious, and what caught my attention is how she's managed to create soul-nourishing success without the typical hustle and burnout we're all too familiar with. We dive into the mastermind-first strategy that's gaining real traction as a sustainable business model.Sora shares how she made a decision that goes against conventional wisdom—instead of diversifying her offers, she simplified everything around masterminds, prioritising ease, balance and intention over exhaustion. We explore the core identity shifts that opened doors to opportunities she hadn't imagined and how stepping fully into her power attracted clients who are genuine doers, not just dreamers. Her approach proves the undeniable impact of a well-curated mastermind where everyone's potential gets uplifted together and results compound for everyone involved. This conversation covers Sora's refreshingly simple yet powerful strategy for building thriving mastermind communities based on trust, mutual respect and meaningful interactions between all members. We discuss her philosophy that growth isn't just about increasing revenue but about evolving within ourselves and inspiring clients to find their next level. Sora's mastermind-centric business model is proof of what's possible when you align strategy with heart, and she shares insights on how simplifying around such a powerful offer can change everything—not just for your bottom line, but for the impact you're able to create.Connect with Sora:Website: https://soraschilling.com/ Instagram: @devotedwayPodcast: Sacred Strategy Substack: https://devotedway.substack.com/ Connect with Ellie: Apply for the Scalable Freedom Mastermind hereFREE Private Podcast “Inside a 7-Figure Mastermind Business” hereWebsite: https://www.ellieswift.com/Instagram: @elliehswiftFacebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/shineonsocialellieswift/

In this message from 1 Samuel 14 and 15, Pastor John looks at how King Saul's heart drifted from God through a series of poor choices that became increasingly serious. From making foolish and provoking commands to sparing what God had commanded him to destroy, Saul's story shows the danger of doubling down on disobedience. Through his example, we are challenged to trust God's timing, guard our hearts from pride, and deal decisively with the sin nature that seeks to draw us away from Him.

In this episode, Dave and Jamison answer these questions: Hi Dave and Jamison, Long-time listener, first-time question asker. Thank you both for the wisdom, perspective, and jokes you bring to the podcast. I recently received an inheritance of around $500,000. It's not “quit your job and buy a yacht” money, but it is enough to reshape my life. I'm in my late 30s, currently working in a senior engineering role. I've had a solid run in the world of code, but I'm ready to walk away from it, zero regrets, just done. What's pulling me now is UX and product design: more creative, human-centered, systems-aware work. I've applied for a one year master's program in UX design, starting in 2026. I'm planning a sabbatical before that to travel, reset, and explore - think trains across Canada, a design conference in Vienna, a food tour in Greece. I'm also investing in short courses and portfolio work during that time. Financially, I've been careful: I paid off my mortgage, invested part of the inheritance, and set up a buffer. So I'm not winging it… but I am stepping away from a six-figure salary, a career my friends and family have supported me to build, and am will have no income for the next 18 months, and that's a little scary. I want to use this opportunity well, not just coast, or panic-spend, or accidentally put myself in a worse position five years from now. How would you approach this kind of mid-career pivot with a windfall cushion? Any mental models, risk assessments, or “soft skills” wisdom to help me stay brave and smart? Thanks again for everything you put out into the world. Hi Soft Skills Engineering Team, I'm the oldest person on my team (by a respectable margin), and I've been taking great delight in gently baffling my younger colleagues with expressions like “I'll get that done in two ticks,” “give me a bell if you need help,” and “stay on the line after stand-up” (even though we're on Teams, not a landline). It has become a bit of a sport for me to see how many retro, obscure, or regionally-specific phrases I can sneak into our chats and meetings before someone finally asks, “What are you even saying?” My question is: What other delightfully old-school and vaguely professional expressions can I deploy to maintain my status as the team's resident linguistic cryptid? Thanks for all the great advice you give, and for validating my mission to keep corporate life interesting! Warmest regards, Resident Old Person
