Michael Coren has lived many lives. Born to a Jewish cab driver in England, Coren converted to Catholocism in the 1980s, then Evangelicalism in the '90s; he grew into a bombastic right-wing Christian talk radio and TV personality with shows on the Sun News Network and the Crossroads Television System; then he came back to embrace the Catholic Church, before finally leaving again to become not just an Anglican—but an Anglican priest. Coren's spiritual malleability—including open repentance for insulting comments he made about queer people decades ago, and the journey he's taken to fundamentally change various political opinions—is at the heart of his new memoir, Heaping Coals: From Media Firebrand to Anglican Priest, published in October 2024. In it, he recounts how he never considered how hard it was for his parents when he left his home country for Canada, and how his perspective on Christian values has changed, while the role of Christiandom has shifted in the broader Western world. Coren sits down with fellow former broadcaster Ralph Benmergui for a frank talk about his numerous mea culpas, handling backlash on social media and the profound difficulty in forgiveness. “Really, you have a hand full of decision makers that would tell the story: the narrative. And they're all part of a little club. But we broke that cartel with citizen journalism.” “You might say, ‘What's their level of professionalism?' Well they know how to point a camera, and the reason why that's important is that people can see for themselves.”In a world inundated with false narratives and charlatan marketers, let's advocate for a return to principles based on truth, urging everyone to defund mainstream media and support independent outlets like Rebel News. The psychological impact of going along with false narratives and encourages listeners to seek out alternative sources of information. The landscape of news has shifted dramatically. Now, anyone with a cell phone can capture and share stories, ensuring that the truth isn't just in the hands of a select few. Unlike major media outlets, we're not part of some exclusive club. We break the mold by empowering citizen journalists and relying on your support to keep us going.Ezra Levant is not only a true hero of independent media but also a fearless advocate for truth and freedom, unapologetically speaking truth to power and standing up for what he believes in. He began in undergrad business school and later led him to law school. He realized that his true passion lay in journalism, which eventually propelled him into the world of political journalism. Over 30 years ago, Ezra had the privilege of working alongside the esteemed Preston Manning, which ignited his passion for politics and journalism.Ezra has been involved in various media ventures, including the Western Standard and the Sun News Network. However, it's his role as the founder of Rebel News over the past nine years that truly highlights his commitment to freedom-oriented, grassroots journalism. With a team of 40 staff members, Rebel News operates on a crowdfunded model, empowering citizen journalists to report on stories that matter. It's time to shake things up. Let's defund the mainstream media and put the power back in the hands of the people. Privatize or sell CBC—it's time to take it out of the hands of those in power. “That Canadian Guy” has plenty to say – funny, relevant, likable and always engaging. Check out this podcast as Glen talks about our police state, the legalization of pot, and the difference within politics of leaders of leaders who are incompetent versus being evil.BiographyGlen Foster has been one of the top comedians in Canada for nearly thirty years.   He didn’t just work the road; he’s one of the guys who helped to build it. Glen appeared in his first one-hour comedy special, “That Canadian Guy” in 2000 and, since then, the moniker has stuck. Many of his fans don’t even know his actual name, but they do know one thing: “That Canadian Guy” is one of the funniest comedians anywhere.Glen’s comedy appeals to those people who appreciate a more intelligent, but slightly “edgy” brand of humour.   His material is mostly clean and always clever, topical and timely, reflecting his own experiences, current events and popular culture. He’s also not afraid to inject his own political and sometimes “politically incorrect” social commentary from time to time.Glen recently appeared in his second one hour Comedy Network special and has also performed on numerous other television shows including seven appearances with CBC’s, “Just for Laughs”, as well as “The Winnipeg Comedy Festival“, “Halifax Comedy Festival”, and “The Mike Bullard Show”.   He is a weekly guest contributor on the Sun News Network and he can also be heard frequently on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”.Glen has recently released his third concert CD, “Prickly: Live at The Rose” and check out some of his video clips here: 1 and 2. Confederation, 1812, The Franklin Expedition, World War I, Remembrance Day, Canada Day, D-Day 70th Anniversary, Diefenbaker's Bill of Rights, Canadian museums, Canadian currency, Canadian passports, Government websites, Government publications. And many more things that have changed since 2006 from what they once were and were meant to be. The Harperfication of Canada continues to rewrite history and common sense. All for the false image of a political party barely a decade old that has worn out its welcome already. Meanwhile, science, statistics, libraries, archives and the agencies that oversee them are disappearing at a breakneck pace. Because they present a truth different from the "official" Harper Government stories. The word "Royal" is back with a vengeance in every place it ever was before. Even some new places. We welcome back Stephen Lautens to help decipher and explain this ludicrous revisionism of history for the dogmatic aims of a backward, regressive party and regime that has cheapened Canada at home and abroad. Stephen Lautens is a writer, lawyer and entrepreneur with an extensive background in communications and business. He currently has a private consulting practice in investor relations, communications and governance. Stephen is also a political commentator and dedicated Twitterer. His tweets appear regularly in various media including the CBC and The Huffington Post. He served two terms as president of the Toronto Press Club and served for seven years as a Governor of The National Newspaper Awards. For 16 years he wrote a weekly column for The Calgary Sun. He has also been a weekly columnist for The National Post, The London Free Press and Toronto Sun. His articles have also appeared in numerous other publications. He appears regularly on the Sun News Network as a political commentator, panelist and liberal punching bag. Join us!
