In this episode of Creative Current Events, Margo Tantau and creative collaborator, Abby Campbell, are back with another insightful chat exploring the latest news from the art field. From retired Crayola colors with cult followings to the resurgence of vintage art supplies and cassette tapes, they unpack why these blasts from the past still spark creativity today. Plus, they dive into how AI is influencing artists like photographer Tim Flach, Target's fast-paced approach to trend-driven merchandise, and what color trends are set to define 2026. And if you've been curious about using mind mapping to unlock new creative ideas, Margo and Abby share practical tips to get started. This might be one of the most process driven episodes of Process Driven yet. I've known Karl Taylor for more than a decade. I was introduced to his work by my friend Patrick in the form of a DVD of Karl‘s Photography Master Class. What struck me straight away was Karl‘s enthusiasm for photography – that and his encyclopedic knowledge of the medium. 12 years after its initial release, Karl has created a brand new remastered version of his original introduction to photography built on a decade of learning and refining what was already an incredible understanding of both the art and science of photography. In this conversation we talk about some of the things he's learned over the past 10 years, including a deep-dive into the biology of how we see and process images. CONNECT WITH KARLWebsite: https://karltaylor.comPlatform: https://karltayloreducation.comInstagram: https://instagram.com/karltaylorphotography MUSICPlease Listen Carefully (Jahzzar) / CC BY-SA 4.0

Tim Flach is a world-renowned photographer. His body of work, which includes 5 published books (Endangered 2017, Evolution, 2013, More than Human, 2012, Dogs Gods, 2010 and Equus, 2008), focuses on a wide variety of animal species but is united by a distinctive style that is derived from his concerns with anthropomorphism and anthropocentrism. His interests lie in the way humans shape animals, and shape their meaning. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Norwich University of the Arts in 2013. His latest project, Endangered, showcases a selection of species that are on or near the brink of extinction. In this episode, we had the opportunity to talk with one of the most fascinating animal photographers in the world today. Recorded onsite in Tim's studio in Shoreditch London, we covered a range of topics including Tim's journey to becoming a self sustaining photographer; why he defines himself as an animal photographer and not as a wildlife photographer; what his favorite and toughest animal subjects in his career have been; the role art plays in communicating the challenges of our generation and how we can reconnect people with nature.  ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Find the show notes here ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ *** SOCIALIZE WITH US *** Website  Instagram  Facebook   Twitter  YouTube
