Sad Boys For Real! Chicago Rapper, Prez Harris, slides to PVTSTCK to discuss touring off his album, "Hourglass," pressure to succeed, feeling like time is passing him by, and balancing relationships & music. In the song, "Emotionless," Drake says, "I always hear people complain about the place that they live / That all the people here are fake and they got nothin' to give / 'Cause they been starin' at somebody else's version of ****." Drake touches on a feeling that everybody knows all too well. Harris mentions how watching the way other people's lives advanced made him feel like time was passing him by. However, it's easy to feel left behind when all you're doing is focusing on what others have. Harris allowed himself to be taken away from music multiple times, and even contemplating giving it up altogether at one point. The feeling of time stopping for no one started to creep up, and he realized he had a choice ti make. Also discussed, getting cheated on, falling in love with music at a young age, and how has changed over the years.

A proud Filipino born and raised in Pōneke/Wellington, she's always been singing from a young age from karaoke, musical theater tunes to the hot 100 on the radio. Eventually she started songwriting at the age of 11, honing in her songwriting skills and creating melodies in her head ever since. Studying Commercial Music at Massey, she met her producer Jack Hegarty where both their skills meshed perfectly and the duo continue to make music together. jeline has surrounded herself in different genres and music tastes.

Feminine Faith - Part 9 "When Time Stops" With Rabbi Ari Sollish (Recorded live at the Intown Jewish Academy on December 11, 2011) Feminine Faith examines a mitzvah traditionally observed by women—Rosh Chodesh, the celebration of the New Moon, in which women rejoice by refraining from normal work. The Rebbe's profound text explores the unique gifts of the feminine—its connection to the undivided essence of G-d's reality in a way that transcends the masculine drive for mastery and control of nature's cause and effect. This discourse is a powerful meditation on the importance of the intuitive and the holistic and a sharp critique of the kind of mind that reduces the world and people to machines—the kind of mind that took power in the years after this was written and brought untold misery to millions, and to Jews especially.
In the great spectrum from excited activity to peaceful meditation, where is your habit, what can you practice more? ~This episode is for those times when you find your body mind spirit running around more than you'd like. When you slow down, there can be a direct good feeling, but also presence with fears that drive us to do things we may not actually be aware of or want. We can then get comfortable with the uncomfortable, and discover new ways of being. ~ In relationship this might mean being less reactive, more curious and patient with our beloved, get to the source of the conflict that often, like the rushing, is a habit coming from a pain from before, belonging to neither person nor the relationship, ready to let go. ~In lovemaking, slowing down and listening to those authentic impulses can replace scripts and worries, and bring deep fun connection, a lively dance in the moment with attunement to self and other and your magic chemistry and dreams. ~Comments on this show and suggestions for future episodes? In today's increasingly fast-paced world, entire days breeze by without us stopping to really experience them. We allow individual moments to blend into one blurry snapshot, and constantly ask ourselves where time has gone and why we can't have more of it. But every now and then, time almost seems to stop and all of our periphery thoughts and worries disappear. In this episode, we talk about some of those moments. Get in touch! This is the next episode in our #APSA50 series, where we teamed up with the Behind the Knife Podcast to cover the 50th Anniversary Meeting of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. The coverage of the conference wouldn’t be complete without a little history lesson and guidance for the future. Drs Jim O’Neill, Jr. and Jo Shapiro join Rae Hanke, Alex Casar and Alex Gibbons to take a journey through the past and peak into the future. Throughout the discussion, we first review the journey of three pediatric surgery pioneers, Drs William Ladd, Herbert Coe, and Oswald Wyatt. Dr. O’Neill shares the efforts of H. William Clatworthy as he approached the American Board of Surgery to identify the reasoning for refusing Pediatric Surgery Board Certification. In brief this was due to the belief that we held no unique body of knowledge beyond general surgery, had no association with surgical roots, had no standard curriculum or standards for certification, and finally did not have a structure of governance. He goes on to detail how these objections were overcome, involving the foundation of APSA and JPS. Dr. O’Neill goes on to highlight the clinical, technical and educational advancements made over the past 50 years. He challenges us to even more so increase our educational collaboration amongst other pediatric specialists. In continuity with this call for change from Dr. O’Neill, Dr. Shapiro discusses another exciting opportunity for the future of pediatric surgery—improving physician well-being. She emphasizes the challenges we face and the necessity for operationalizing proactive peer support programs. By facing the traumatic events we experience, we will improve patient care by decreasing physician burnout, depression and suicide. Will you accept their challenge to increase educational collaboration and encourage wellness amongst those around you? Continue this conversation on the StayCurrentApp. Stay tuned for a few more APSA 2019 highlights captured by the Behind the Knife Podcast team. This episode is the first in our #APSA50 series, where we teamed up with the Behind the Knife Podcast to cover the 50th Anniversary Meeting of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. It is a conversation between Alex Casar, Alex Gibbons, Rae Hanke, and our invited guest. It presents an interactive discussion and thoughtful reflection on the topic of Social Determinants of Health, which was a cornerstone of this year’s meeting. Social determinants of health refer to factors like economic stability, housing, transportation, physical and psychological safety, zip code and geography, literacy and education, hunger, poverty, community support and engagement, discrimination, stress, and linguistic and cultural competencies from providers that affect healthcare outcomes like quality of care, mortality, morbidity, life expectancy, and even healthcare costs. We had the opportunity to interview Adam Foss – a lawyer, former District Attorney, and founder of Prosecutor Impact, a nonprofit organization improving community safety in the United States through culture change in the criminal justice system. We hope you feel as simultaneously uncomfortable and enlightened by his message as the audience did in person. Our role as pediatric surgeons extends way further than the walls of our operating rooms. It is our responsibility as medical providers and community leaders to identify areas of opportunity within our reach and tackle them to improve healthcare outcomes. Join the conversation and share with us the steps you are taking to alleviate these disparities. Remember that your actions and commitment are contagious. Stay tuned for more updates from APSA 2019. When directional momentum stalls after you've established your position, here's what to do.
Kelsey and Aradia Host again for episodes 95 and 96. The party leaves Ingtar behind to redeem himself by delaying the Seanchan. He has Toh, and he settles it honorably. We talk about how lots of people had Mat grow on them. Post dagger Mat is much more lovable. Despite Ingtar's sacrifice, the party is slowly being surrounded. They discuss their options while they themselves now face death. It's Mat's idea to to blow the horn. No one objects. The sound it makes is as golden as the horn itself. Time Stops. A fog rises as the Whitecloaks begin their charge westward toward Falme, and the Seanchan march eastward toward the Whitecloak cavalry, with Rand and his party in between. Are the heroes horses heroes as well? After greeting Mat and the Dragon, Hawkwing tells Hurin that sometimes new heroes are added to their number. Who from this age might become join their ranks? Could Rand be one, or is the Dragon separate in each age? Lot's of interesting questions about the Horn of Valere, it's connection to the world of dreams, and whether or not Rand is always the dragon. We talk about some quotes from Robert Jordan about The Wheel of Time universe's cyclical timeline, and where his ideas for that came from. We also discuss the irony of Hawkwing leading the heroes against the armies of his own descendants. We spend some time on light and dark prophecy, on whether or not they're self fulfilling, and if they may sometimes be more trouble than they're worth. When Rand asks the heroes to help save Egwene, they laugh at him. Birgitte even points out that he's always having some trouble with a woman. When Rand battles Ishmael in the sky, he forces Saidin into his power-wrought blade. Is that Ba'alzamon is afraid of being struck and why he's eventually so badly injured by the wound Rand inflicts on him, and perhaps why the cloud of darkness enveloping Ishamael is said to scream when Rand strikes his opponent down. Where has all the time gone? Literally. Sorry for the lack of updates in the last several months. We have been quite busy in ministry things down here in Peru, and with getting ready for the book launch, then we went to Canada to visit family over Christmas. On top of that moved into a new an unfinished apartment 9 days before our flight. Today's episode is an mp3 of me preaching at River Run Fellowship in Peterborough, Ontario this past Sunday before we returned to Peru. I shared about some themes long-time listeners of the podcast are familiar with in terms of discipleship and only having one shot at this life. Will you stand before Him on that day wishing you had done more with your time and your talents, or will you hang your head in shame wishing you had done more? Enjoy today's message about how time stops for no one, therefore it's up to us to decide how we're going to spend it in light of eternity. Blessings and fire on your head, Steve Bremner
