Zum anstehenden Record Store Day 2024 hat sich Olaf gleich drei Gäste ins HIFI.DE Podcast-Studio eingeladen: HIFI.DE Redakteur Friedrich, "Plattentalk" Co-Host Patrik und Kevin, Betreiber des Plattenladens POPSUB. Gemeinsam sprechen Vinyl-Neuling, Sammler und Händler mit Host Olaf über ihre Beziehung zum RSD. Daraus entstanden ist eine zweistündige Spezial-Folge, in der um die persönlichen Wunschlisten der Gäste, schöne Erlebnisse, aber auch allerlei Kritik am RSD geht.Record Store Day 2024: Unsere Recherche zum ThemaFast wäre der Record Store Day 2024 ganz still und heimlich an uns vorbeigezogen, ohne dass wir uns genauer mit ihm auseinandergesetzt hätten. Warner Archive executive George Feltenstein takes us through the first releases of 2022.  On January the 18th, the Blu-ray release of “Song of the Thin Man” starring William Powell and Myrna Loy, completes the last installment of the “Thin Man” series.  Also releasing that day are the DVDs of the popular television series, “Riverdale” Season 5 and “Animal Kingdom” Season 5.  On January 25th, the lesser-known Alfred Hitchcock classic “Stage Fright” starring Jane Wyman, Michael Wilding, Richard Todd, and Marlene Dietrich, is released for the first time on Blu-ray.  George provides background on all of the titles and insights into the restoration process for the classic films.And as a special bonus, George Feltenstein takes a look back at 2021, and he details the top 5 Warner Archive Blu-ray releases of the year (with a few extra releases added in).  

In this episode, Google Cloud's Head of Developer Engagement Stephanie Wong shares a thing or two about creating content that can help engage and educate developers and discusses some of Google's offerings for this year. She also shares insights on being a woman in the tech space and how we could do better in making the industry a safe space for women to grow.

Wobei, so ganz stimmt das natürlich auch nicht. Wer bis jetzt keine einzige der Singles zum Album mitbekommen hat, muss vor allem "Wild Stare" und "Watershed" schon sehr aktiv umschifft haben. Zumal "Wild Stare" mitsamt der gleichnamigen EP bereits im letzten Jahr in unseren Top-Releases 2019 gelandet ist und spätestens seit diesem unfassbaren Ritterschlag in aller Munde war. Und wenn sich eine junge, gehypte Band wie die Giant Rooks mit ihrem Debüt ganze sechs Jahre seit der Gründung und drei EPs lang Zeit lässt, kann das doch eigentlich nur für die Qualität des Albums sprechen, oder? Wir würden uns jedenfalls sehr freuen, wenn ihr in die Review reinhört und ungeachtet eurer Genre-Präferenzen auch dem Album eine Chance gebt! (...wenn nicht, schickt ihr diese Folge einfach an eure Normie-Friends, die den ganzen Tag 1LIVE hören, abgemacht?)

THE JOURNEY SO FAR The new Aves Volare KDB Mafia Showcase marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the upcoming musician. Aves has spent the start of his career in Electronic, Deep and Tech House production in Australia and will now embark on this new chapter on European land. Aves started his production in a duo named 2DotZero combining songwriting, vocals and production skills to impress the likes of KDB Records & Smiley Fingers (both featured in this Podcast) and a few other reputable labels such as Hausity, Manual Music, Soleid and UGENIUS to sign their creations. In order to make these releases come to fruition, they have also collaborated with some very talented producers such as Trockensaft, Zatonsky & HOOPS. In more recent times, Aves has pursued his debut solo year with an impact. He has been working with a talented vocalist ALULA along with producers like Studio Deep & Alexey Lisin. Furthermore he has continued much more work with Trockensaft and Zatonsky to which this EP celebrates their latest release. Alexandra Pride also had a huge role in this successful collaboration.
