Today we had an incredible conversation with the amazing and inspirational powerhouse, Lisa Guillot.  Lisa is a certified transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert.  She is also the founder of Be Bright Lisa Coaching and Clear Vision You.  Here is her quote:   “Change is a function of altering what you are doing, to improve something that is already possible in our reality.  Transformation is a function of altering the way you are being to create something that is currently not possible in your reality.”   ~From The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss   Lisa has an amazing history of success in graphic design with some well-known companies such as Pottery Barn Kids, Sephora, Papersource and Gap, but in 2009 she decided to break out on her own and start her own company and had some great success there as well.  But Lisa describes how 2013 was the true beginning of her own personal transformation.  Lisa was introduced to this quote and this book The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss during her Transformational Life and Leadership Coach training.  Within the book, the author describes the desire for transformation.  It uses the illustration of the caterpillar (your life is ok, but you are desiring more) and when you go into the chrysalis it is a time of vulnerability, darkness, struggle, yet the deep desire is that fact that they don't want to emerge from the cocoon still a caterpillar!  They long to be transformed and become something totally different from who they were at the beginning.  This is what Lisa does with her clients, as she helps them to discover who they are at their core and then how to brand themselves in their life and business.   Lisa then goes on to explain her own transformation which you are going to LOVE!  Her story is incredible! If you are a high-achiever that rides on the stress of success, you will be so inspired by her personal story of transformation.  This journey greatly influences her mission to help women conceptually see the bright essence of who they are as their true self.     Lisa is such an amazing transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert, and if you would like to learn more about what she offers or wants to work with her, follow her podcast:  Find Your Clear Vision.  You can also connect with her on Instagram @BeBrightLisa or her website: www.bebrightlisa.com   If you loved this podcast episode, be sure to drop us a message, LIKE, SHARE, and leave us a review!  Follow us on Instagram @wakeupanddreampodcast  and reach out to us!  We love hearing from our listeners!     You can connect with each of us here:   Sara Carlisi: @saracarlisi1  sara@saracarlisi.com saracarlisi.com/wakeup   Kelly Armstrong:  @kellyarmstrongofficial  kelly@fullyembraceyourlife.com   Lisa Taylor:  @lisa.kay.taylor lisatay.lbri@gmail.com www.linktree.com/lisa.kay.taylor www.lbri.com/lisatay

Sometimes we all need someone in our corner to say that they believe in us, somebody to validate the thought that we can have that special moment when we realize there's something more for us. Today's conversation will shine a light on self-limiting beliefs, take action to dig ourselves out of that rut, and then take action and unleash our impact. And we're going to do it with the person that did exactly that for Paul himself— Sue Ann Gonis.EPISODE CORE TOPICS + DETAILS:[6:32]Sue Ann's ‘Why'Sue Ann explores why she does what she doesWhen it comes to coaching people to remove their self-limiting beliefs, Sue Ann calls the moment that those limitations are broken through her ‘why.' It's worth reflecting for yourself— what's your ‘why'?[24:03]$10 Million in the BankWhat would you do without financial limitations?Want to know what your true passion is? Take a moment to imagine you have $10 million to your name. Would you pursue what you're pursuing now? It doesn't mean that financial considerations shouldn't be a factor in your life decisions, it's just a powerful exercise that can help you identify what you truly want to be doing.[35:07]Doing and BeingWhat you do versus who you areIf you want to reach the core of your motivations, passions, drives, and values, go deeper than what you do and why. Ask yourself about the who behind it all. Who is the person that leads you to make the choices you make, to pursue the passions you pursue?[42:13]Putting People FirstWe remember the people who think of others before themselvesWhat makes a great leader is that they put others first. They make it obvious, and that knowledge makes everyone around them want to work harder, be more selfless, and feel more protected by their work environment. [51:17]The Simple Power of CompassionDon't sweat the small stuff— just love peopleIf 2020 taught us anything, it was the importance of having compassion for the people around us. The key is, do we know what it is? Do we know what it's standing in the way of, and what are we going to do about it?It's time to identify one goal that you have in life that you've struggled to take action on achieving. Now put some thought into what exactly is getting in the way. This will lead you to your self-limiting beliefs. Stephenie Zamora tells us how we can rise up after the most challenging chapters of our lives. She knows how because she did it. Stephanie recently published her memoir, Unravel: Rising Up and Coming Back from a Season of Living that Damn Near Killed Me. Now if that book title didn’t capture your attention, I’m not sure what will! Stephanie helps catalyze individuals on their healing and growth journeys so they can uncover the purpose of their path, step into who they're here to be, and do the work they're here to do. Also, Stephanie developed a signature Journey Mapping process and program. This program helps individuals reorient to their own life, work, and relationships in the aftermath of life's most challenging chapters and big life transitions. Stephanie reveals that the fall is not the hard part. The hard part is the return, the rise, the comeback. She explains this is because this part of the journey requires a series of simple, yet incredibly difficult choices. Moment to moment, day to day. In addition, Stephanie tells us that life is always shaping us in relation to our purpose—who we are here to be and the work we’re here to do. Furthermore, we must be willing let go of what no longer serves us so that we can start carrying forward only what's truly aligned and become who we're meant to be. Finally, Stephanie shares that we can make the impossible happen if we're willing to untangle ourselves from the winning strategies that have kept us safe, successful, and secure up until this point in our lives.   Episode Highlights: First, Stephenie shares her life changing moment. Then, Emily and Stephenie discuss grief. Also, we discuss the growth opportunity offered by that the coronavirus. Next, Stephanie talks about her book Unravel: Rising Up and Coming Back from a Season of Living that Damn Near Killed Me.  Then she gives high level over view of what led her to write the book.  Also, she explains how that season of her life nearly killed her and how she blamed herself for what happened. Furthermore, she shares her how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder showed up in her life. Then she takes us through her difficult healing process. She shares the therapies she tried and what worked for her. As part of her healing process, Stephenie let herself feel pain until she thought she couldn’t take it anymore. In other words, she shares how she bravely faced her unresolved grief and trauma. Once this happened, Stephenie could start healing and find genuine joy, peace, and love. Stephenie is still navigating her grief and learning how to live with it.   Stephenie explains the concept of the void. She explains it as a feeling of nothingness - no feeling no light. Next Stephenie explains that we must pass through the void to access pure joy or purpose  Stephenie shares how we can start dealing with our feelings: One: Build trust in intuition and inner knowing and guidance - grief work requires discernment. Two: Begins with feeling feelings - gain insight - sit still become overtaken by your feelings. Three: Find the  purpose in your anger. Be with yourself - see what comes up and feel it. After that, Stephenie shares how we can go through the layers and the void.  First,  feel the emotion emotion and feel it fully. Then, get immersed in the emotion and find your way through it. Next,  see what’s beneath it.  Finally, keep going and work towards the void. Journaling by hand helped Stephenie heal. Stephanie shares that we have to do the deeper work.  In other words,  you have to be uncomfortable and none of us want that! In addition, it’s important to be able to call yourself on your own BS. Next Stephanie shares how she developed the Journey Mapping Process from her own experiences. Then Stephanie talks about the second coming of grief and how she realized that the fall isn’t the hard part. In other words, we don’t hit rock bottom and bounce back. The hard part is making the choice to rise up. Next she explains that coming back is a series of tiny choices and tiny moments. She also explains that when grieving, people need space to be heard and to feel it’s ok to say whatever they need to say.  Also, when grieving, we repeat our stories because we are  processing so much. Stephenie ends her interview with some final words of encouragement. She says you’re exactly where you need to be - you are so much more capable of navigating what you’re going through. Also,  we get to decide what meaning we give things that happen to us.  Finally, trust yourself. It’s Not If You Die, It’s How You Face the Inevitability of Your Death It is said that Japanese Samurai warriors reminded themselves of the inevitability of loss by using the phrase, “Die before going into battle.” This practice allows a warrior to enter combat without fear of death because he has brought himself to the acceptance of death ahead of time. Because death is an inevitable outcome, and by accepting the absoluteness of that inevitability, the warrior fully gives himself to his mission without concern for survival or victory. Tracy Goss wrote a book called The Last Word on Power (1996), and talks about the paradigm most of us live in. It goes like this: if things are going great - Yay for us! If things are not going great, there must be something wrong with them, it, or me! Goss points to the fact that there is very little room in our current paradigm for the Isness of life. She says life doesn’t turn out the way it "should", but rather life turns out the way it does. Most of us don’t like that message, and so we avoid the whole subject completely until we can no longer deny the inevitability of life ending in death. There is so much we cannot control in life, but that doesn’t stop us from trying! Death is just one of those fates that, although undeniable on a very obvious level, tends to lead to humans creating a tremendous amount of fantasies of "beating the odds". I find that fascinating. What would life look like if we, like the Samurai Warriors, admitted that death is inevitable? I suspect we would get on with the task of fulfilling our mission of bringing about the vision we imagine for the world. I believe we would stop living in fear and begin expressing compassion for ourselves and others. I don’t really know. But it beats living in fear for the rest of my time on the planet!  In the end, life will end as it does, not as it should. That’s a big fat be-with! So now what? For me, I’m going to get on with letting go of how life should be and how life should end, and just live one day at a time, making it the best day ever. How are you with the topic of death? Let's talk about it over on Facebook! - - - -  For more blogs, books and videos, or if you are interesting in coaching or training with Dr. Rosie, check out her website: www.theparadigmshifts.com
