In our interview, Matthew shares with us his excitement at making his Regent's Park debut and at the start of Drew McOnie's tenure as Artistic Director. 'Shucked' was a huge success on Broadway and audiences are eagerly anticipating the transfer of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally's joyful musical. Jack O'Brien also makes his directorial debut at Regent's Park, and we hear Matthew talk about how the show has been adapted for the great outdoors. In this new interview with Matthew Seadon-Young, he shares his insight into the craft of carving out a career in musical theatre. Gordy Walker is arguably New Zealand's best coach of all time. He's certainly in the conversation. He's won the Halberg Coach of the Year award six times and in 2021 was crowned the Halberg coach of the decade – and after listening to this you'll understand why. This was a really special episode. In the first half we learn about Gordy the athlete, his string of Coast-to-Coast wins, adventure races where he didn't sleep for days, enduring pain and where his determination and eye for detail comes from. And the second half is a journey into the mind of an elite coach. The last 45 mins about what the Kiwi K4 team achieved in Paris – and how they did it – is remarkable. Stick around till the end, it's world class coaching and leadership brilliantly articulated.Gordy is a private and humble guy and doesn't really do podcasts like this, so we felt super privileged to be part of this convo. We're also super stoked to have Gordy on the books of B2B Speakers, so if you'd like him to share his insights or stories at your function or event, or perhaps you'd like him and Lisa Carrington together – we can organise that too - flick us a message by going to www.b2bspeakers.co.nz.
