In this episode, Cindy Esliger talks about the stroke of brilliance ideas we sometimes have that we dismiss because it's something that came too easily to us. Our sudden insights that we feel are too obvious to be of real value. It's that self-discounting tendency that Cindy examines in detail because the truth is that what comes easily to us can be a genius revelation to someone else. We don't all share the same skills. So what we think is simple may be a monumental insight to another person. Cindy wants us to start sharing those ideas instead of dismissing them.Part of the complexity of human cognition is this belief that what seems effortless to us is of no value to anyone else. We fail to recognize that things we find obvious and easy may in fact be groundbreaking and valuable to someone else. Because we are all born out of different environments and experiences that shape us into being adept with some things and not others. We're all different. So how do we overcome the paradox of thinking things that are easy to us are useless? Cindy says 1. Acknowledge that what's obvious to us is not obvious to everyone, 2. Cultivate an environment that encourages the sharing of ideas, and 3. Challenge the desire for complexity. Not everything valuable must be challenging. And not everything we innately understand is obvious to everyone else. Cindy urges us to start sharing those simple ideas to further our careers and our representations of our unique qualities. What we need is to learn how to communicate effectively so our ideas are received well. So Cindy unpacks how to speak up, why complacency is a dream killer, how making a mark involves breaking away from the status quo, and why our unique insights have immense power. This episode is our guide to learning not to stifle our individual gifts. How is your week going so far? Are you attacking your goals or are you dealing with the same old issues? Are you feeling like you are on track or stuck? I am finding more often than not, that most people are cycling through the same problems. …and this problems are almost entirely struggles with the mind. Sure there are challenges and obstacles in life, but most of them involve our mind or perspective. So…I want to focus this week on Hacks for the Mind…because I feel like the DAILY battle with your mind is the BATTLE you must win if you are going to live your best life. Recently, I've had to deal with some super challenging situations and I've found myself looking to my mentors and lessons learned for advice, counsel and answers. So, I'd like to share some of those with you… Let me do the leg work and offer you some great perspective, ideas, tips and tricks that work for battling with your mind. So…when I'm starting to struggle a bit there are certain mentors I go straight to based on what I know helps me cope and get on top of the situations in my life…David Goggins is right on top of the list so lets start with him today… David Goggins is well know for his ability to push past the normal limits of his body and the average person. David says that most people live in 40% of their best life. In other words most people quit at 40%. They quit their relationships, their businesses, their fitness goals, and everything else they do. He says its like a car with a governor…explain The car can certainly go faster…and it you are my car, it definitely likes to go fast…lol But, the governor from the factory slows the car down. No matter how much you try it wont go above a certain set speed. This is what our brains are doing to us when we start to encounter difficulty in our lives. Our brains are designed to keep us safe, comfortable, out of difficult situations, so it sends us signals that make us want to quit and slow down or walk away from a challenge. The problem is that usually our minds quit at about 40% of our potential says Goggins. I find this really crazy because our minds really are our greatest tool…but also our greatest weakness. And to make it worse, our minds know all of our dang weaknesses and have the language that it knows will make us slow down, doubt our abilities, create fear and basically make us quit. Your mind knows you better than anyone or anything in your life….But guess what… Believe it or not…YOU CONTROL YOUR MIND…You are the driver of this incredible tool. You are not your mind. You are the driver of your mind. The key is to NOT let go of the steering wheel. Thats what most of us do. We let our minds do what they want and shut us down. And when you let go of the wheel and let your mind wander enough times, you form the habits of giving up, being lazy, “settling for less”, and ultimately a mediocre life…at 40%…you start to coast through life. How many of you feel like you might be just “going through the motions right now?”…waiting for a break in the storm…waiting for something to change…waiting for answers?…Well you are the answer. You have the answers inside you... So, why does this happen? Why do we settle and give up on our relationships, business, and all types of things in life? Basically, its because we crave comfort and many times don't see solutions to fix the problems so we quit. But, this is when we need to look to give ourselves the most hope. Because you do have the answers. they just lie on the other side of quitting…on teh other side of the 40% mark. See the key is to do what prosperity Principle # 3 says and ACT IN SPITE OF YOUR MOOD. None of us wants to get up and go to the gym… None of us want to set feelings and ego aside and work through challenging relationships Noe of us want to get to work building our business after a long day at the J O B But the truth is its only at the 40% level that David Goggins says we can truly create new habits and find real solutions. It's at that point that the brain learns to become creative…not before. You see your best life lies inside the pain…past the 40% mark. Your solutions will only come to you WHEN you are “experiencing” the difficulties. The brain (your mind) is very resourceful, but it is also very tricky. It knows your weaknesses. It steers you toward comfort. Go back to bed. Start Monday instead of today. Give up and find a better opportunity, relationship, business, or gameplan. When you tell yourself you are going to quit at that 40% level…your brain shuts down. It wants to shut down. Its wants the easy way out. But don't let it control you. You control your mind... This is when you need to tell yourself that “I am never going to give up”. Tell yourself that you have no choice but to succeed and your brain will go to work finding a solution to what you are dealing with. It will look for the answers and help you be creative. Eric Thomas says…when you want to succeed as much as you want to breath…that's when you will be successful. Stop worrying about finding solutions to the problem and start focusing on never giving up. This is going to be a daily battle with your mind. You can develop habits, but just accept the fact that you will be battling your mind throughout your life…make it a challenge. make it a game. And this is where it will become a productive…become fun…become fulfilling…become success. You see we have been searching most of our lives for happiness and fulfillment in the wrong place. We spend our lives wanting happiness, but looking for it in places of comfort and easy paths. I know I have... David Goggins continually emphasizes that you won't find toughness, resilence and fulfillment in a comfortable environment. This is why he challenges himself every single day. He looks forward to being uncomfortable because that is where you will find your greatness and the greatest rewards in life…in the difficulties. Learn to love to challenge yourself. Science has shown us that you get small dopamine hits even with small accomplishments. -overcoming a challenge -losing a few pounds -not giving up on that business or relationship You don't need to get to the end goal to actually experience the fulfilling emotions…the dopamine hit that you and your brain desire… Victory lies inside the smallest of steps…the smallest of accomplishments… You will truly experience your best life and emotions by simply choosing to place yourself inside the battle. Place yourself inside DISCOMFORT. Let yourself get past the 40% mark where most people quit, cause that is where your greatness lies. There are many ways you can help yourself get to this point and beyond: -visualize what lies inside or beyond the battle -learn to disconnect from external needs for fulfillment…they are all inside you -know that the most fulfillment truly comes form the emotions you experience in the little moments of victory…THIS IS WHY WE SAY ITS THE “LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE" -visualize with clear and specific EMOTIONS…try this -learn and discover what motivates you (music, pictures, objects, emotions) -find a person or thing that drives you with something to prove -use past failures to DRIVE yourself Just remember “one more rep”…thats a perfect example of being at the 40% mark and pushing through to your greatness. Also, you have to realize that you do not have to have a trainer, coach, or specific tools. You have all the tools inside you right now. Your mind creates most problems and has the power and tools to overcome those problems. I've spend most of my life searching for fulfillment, happiness and joy in the rewards and successes. What I've learned is that ultimately we are all just seeking the emotions that various accomplishments or things will give us. The secret is that we can experience those same emotions right now. In the moment. In overcoming small challenges…not just end goals…you've already experienced happiness in your life…visualization and small wins will bring those same emotions back into your life right now. Learn to live beyond the 40% Learn to live in the gaps most people avoid Learn to never quit on your relationships, business, fitness goals and desires Learn to value the daily battle with your mind See it as an exercise in uncovering your greatness… Look forward to the battle because it will bring you the happiness and fulfillment you desire. Find ways to challenge yourself daily so that you can ultimately live the life you are capable of living…Push past the 40% mark. Your Brain will find the tools to solve your problems Yes, Your Thoughts Create Your Life…Yes, You are the One Who Steers the Ship…Your Mind. Start Today to Challenge Yourself to become the Best Version of Yourself. Learn to love LIVING inside UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATIONS. And as David Goggins Says….STAY HARD

"Everybody wants to eat, but Few Will Hunt." Today on the podcast with Joey Bowen and Drew Beech, co-founders of the apparel brand and community Few Will Hunt. Joey and Drew spent their daily commutes through the gritty streets of Philadelphia on the phone for a year straight. On these calls, they talked about business and life — especially the trends of self-entitlement and shortcut-seeking they witnessed in society. These trends made them feel alone in an ever-softening world. “Are we the only ones that still believe in the power of hard work?” Drew asked. Joey responded, “It's like we say at my hunting cabin — everybody wants to eat, but few will hunt.” This statement perfectly summed up their frustrations with society. It became their mantra. I had a powerful thought while working out today I was listening to a david goggins video goggins is literally the toughest guy I've ever heard of …retired navy seal…only member of US Armed forces to complete …Seal Training…US Army Ranger School…Air Force Tactical Controller Training …ultra marathons….best selling author…on and on and on… I was listening to get a little more motivation and a kick in the butt… …been sleeping in a bit too much lately…benefits and downsides to being an entrepreneur :) I've learned over the years we all have cycles of motivation in our life…ups and downs times when you need motivation times when you need “something more” we cycle through life our liv with different moods, circumstances, careers… the key is to recognize exactly where you are right now and what you need... cause there is a distinct different in types of fuel from PD and fuel from Motivation so, where are you right now? what do you need to get you moving right now? let's discuss this and clarify a couple things when it comes to fuel… we ALL need different types of fuel at different stages of our life and biz… and there is a difference between motivation, drive and purpose…but, we need all 3 but its also IMPORTANT to know the difference and when you need each type… it's sorta like a rocket…3 stages of fuel to create lift off -explain...initial, boost, cruising… So lets start with Motivation... 1-Motivation- 1st type of fuel that usually will come from "Outside You" Goggins calls this the kindling…1 hour burn cause it doesnt last long but gets you started comes from outside you most of the time but all you need is a spark…music, video, coach, friend, external validation what motivates you the best? examples Now a word of CAUTION…stop trying change your entire life or business with motivation too many of us try to reinvent ourselves with constant motivation thats not the point of motivation…its to start the fire…its just to create a spark… Thats why you sometimes hear thought leaders say motivation is CRAP its not sustainable….its short term…BUT it does serve a purpose …the purpose is to get you unstuck…to get you moving…to break your patterns…got it? but remember, it wont last and it will go away and leave you feeling empty and tired thats why you need to use that motivation (that Kindling) to fuel a much bigger log… …a log that is sustainable…a fuel that creates long term results... …which brings us to the topic of developing Your DRIVE... 2-Drive- 2nd type of fuel that usually comes from "Inside You" Goggins calls this the big log…10,000 hour burn this is the log you cannot start with or you would choke out the fire... this is the fuel that takes your motivation and turns it into obsession this is where you need to go from outside to inside yourself to find your “Drive” you need the spark to light the BIG log, but then you need to nurture ur Drive… …nurture and big a strong Desire and Commitment to Drive your life & biz forward. this is what will help you create more consistent energy each day this is what will help you keep your MIND in check on a constant basis this is what will keep you moving forward when your motivation goes away to do this you need to create a vision bigger than your ability to feel comfortable this DRIVE and this OBSESSION needs to come from outside your comfort zone this is where your VISION and DREAMS come into play One of my mentors would say, When the Dream is Big Enough the Facts don't count. if you can visualize and manifest your life, this is where your DRIVE starts to take you places this is where your faith and endurance get tested, but where your biggest successes come ..this is where you start living the life you were truly meant to live... so, get super clear on what you want your life to be like… what do you want your life to be like? what do you want your relationships, finances, health, fitness, nutrition, lifestyle to be like? get specific…get detailed…get CLEAR stop waiting till you have a plan to develop the end goal stop waiting till you can see the end of your journey to decide what the end will look like and REMEMBER, you dont need to be totally clear on the path to start moving forward you just need to be decisive and say yes and figure it out…but develop your VISION then…. become obsessed with that life…with that goal…with that vision what does obsessed mean?…it means focus on it every day…prioritize it be consistent…be relentless…be DRIVEN….DEVELOP YOUR “DRIVE” ACT IN SPITE OF YOUR MOOD that 10,000 hour log will burn and burn…and consistency will ultimately make it a Habit and Habits take you much further than the motivation alone… Habits will take over when motivation fades away…you do this by... developing daily rituals that you Decide and Commit to doing and over time they will Drive you and you WILL become Driven now talking about Motivation & Drive would not be complete without a discussion about… PURPOSE…I've seen too many people get far in their life and business only to question life this leads us to the topic of Purpose... 3-Purpose- 3rd type of fuel that comes from focus on Others ya see, you must have a Purpose to serving others or you will not find true fulfillment Happiness, Fulfillment and true success will only come when you feel you are helping mankind …this is why when i talk about UT we say in the service of others With this type of fuel you will find the ability to create fulfillment which fuels your soul and ultimately will create true and lasting happiness levels with this type of fuel you will feed your motivation, your drive and best of all results in your life… i encourage you to define your talents and then find the best way to serve others with them… …put a different way, you can find the needs in the market place that need to be met and meet them Purpose will give you something to lose yourself in…its something you can truly devote your life to… …its something that other people will be inspired to to assist you with and devote their time and energy to …its something that you will lose track of time when you are doing it... so what does all this discussion about fuel and purpose mean to you… …only you can determine where you are in your life and what you need... ..ask yourself where you are in this stage of your life… do you need motivation? do you need more drive and obsession? do you need purpose? are you even thinking about these things or are you on Autopilot…if so, STOP… …get clear on what you need and what you are going to do TODAY to fuel yourself find a way to wrap Motivation, Drive, Purpose and Desire all together and keep them all in check …be aware…that is the real key …be relentless…be obsessed…be great Do Hard Stuff every single day… Challenge Yourself daily… Don't Give up… Don't Settle… In closing today…a good friend of mine Bill Danko (who wrote Millionaire Next door) would say… You know what's better than being a Millionaire…Being a Happy Millionaire… …and he went on to write a second book called “Richer than a Millionaire” which i highly recommend Stephen Covey would say...Begin with the end in Mind….I think is good advice... …start with Purpose and back it into Drive and then feed it with the spark of Motivation… I think i you will do this, you will find much more sustained progress toward your goals…. you will be like the rocket that pushes through the atmosphere with motivation… then pushing into the space of your dreams with drive and consistency… then you will accomplish Amazing things with Purpose and Passion. You are unbelievable…You are talented…You are Unique Its never too late to Start Living the Life You were Meant to Live…Start today. Thanks for listening George Wright III PS- Please share this message with anyone you know…it would mean a lot to me personally

but remember, it wont last and it will go away and leave you feeling empty and tired thats why you need to use that motivation (that Kindling) to fuel a much bigger log… …a log that is sustainable…a fuel that creates long term results... Question for you: Do you believe that life happens TO you or that you have the choice to create the life you desire? So many would probably say the latter, but do their lives aptly reflect this as their truth? Today's episode dives into the fact that we were created to create! We are different from the animal and plant kingdom, as we are made in the image of our Creator, and that means we were created with the ability to create…to create our lives, create our days, and create our future realities! We are always creating results! Yep, that's true. But are we creating the results we desire? Lisa shares how our dominant thoughts create our feelings, which spark action or lack of action and ultimately produce the results we have in our lives. How about you? Are your dominant thoughts like this: “I don't have a choice. I am stuck in this job and should just be grateful because it pays the bills. If I can just make it to retirement, then I will get to do what I truly want.” This thinking will keep you stuck, frustrated and unfulfilled. Sara encouraged us that creating your life may seem like a daunting task, but we get to also create our days and the moments in our days! And guess what? Your kids are watching you, and what attitude and action you take towards your dreams will play a huge role in how they approach their life as they grow up. Lead by example and take those risks, step outside of your comfort zone and CREATE the life that others will only dream of! Did you know that most people set wrong goals? Yep, it's true! Last week we started this discussion with “What do you want your life to look like?” and learned about a great tool called the Wheel of Life, to help us become aware of where we are at with our goals and habits in the different areas of our life so we can then ask ourselves, “Where would I like to be? How would I like my life to look like when my goal is achieved?” In this episode we dive deeper into Goals. Most people set “Should Goals” like “ I should lose 10 lbs. I should be more organized.” and the list could go on and on. These types of goals are motivated by guilt and focus on changing a behavior, but this often doesn't produce REAL growth. Goals that bring about inner growth and transformation are the goals we want to focus on. Today we had an incredible conversation with the amazing and inspirational powerhouse, Lisa Guillot. Lisa is a certified transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert. She is also the founder of Be Bright Lisa Coaching and Clear Vision You. Here is her quote: “Change is a function of altering what you are doing, to improve something that is already possible in our reality. Transformation is a function of altering the way you are being to create something that is currently not possible in your reality.” ~From The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss Lisa has an amazing history of success in graphic design with some well-known companies such as Pottery Barn Kids, Sephora, Papersource and Gap, but in 2009 she decided to break out on her own and start her own company and had some great success there as well. But Lisa describes how 2013 was the true beginning of her own personal transformation. Lisa was introduced to this quote and this book The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss during her Transformational Life and Leadership Coach training. Within the book, the author describes the desire for transformation. It uses the illustration of the caterpillar (your life is ok, but you are desiring more) and when you go into the chrysalis it is a time of vulnerability, darkness, struggle, yet the deep desire is that fact that they don't want to emerge from the cocoon still a caterpillar! They long to be transformed and become something totally different from who they were at the beginning. This is what Lisa does with her clients, as she helps them to discover who they are at their core and then how to brand themselves in their life and business. Lisa then goes on to explain her own transformation which you are going to LOVE! Her story is incredible! If you are a high-achiever that rides on the stress of success, you will be so inspired by her personal story of transformation. This journey greatly influences her mission to help women conceptually see the bright essence of who they are as their true self. Fear of failure has ruined more dreams than a comfortable salary with unlimited PTO. If you are afraid of failure, this is for you. Failure can't be escaped. It must be embraced and learned from. Success can only exist with failure. If you deny failure, or do not fail, it is literally impossible for you to succeed AS a direct personal experience. Quote: True strength doesn't come from your character but from your willingness to go beyond it. ~Gary John Bishop In this episode, we dive deep into this quote. Sara shared her difficult experience with the closing on her investment property, and how it tested her character yet she chose to go beyond it. We talked a lot about character, which is a great thing to have, but if we don't push ourselves beyond our current character, then we don't grow. We need to go beyond our feelings and really stay true to our mission and what it is that we want. In every challenging situation, we can either play the role of the victim or the victor. It all boils down to our willingness to go beyond our character. If we respond the same way we have always responded expecting different results, we will be frustrated and disappointed. That is just how it works. Our thoughts and character are our choice. Lisa mentioned the book The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. In it, Micheal encourages us to let go of the thoughts and feelings that are not serving us. This helps us to go beyond our own current character and into a place of growth. Being willing to step beyond our present character is the first necessary step in this journey. As always, we would love to connect with you, our listeners!
