Well, I hate to say it, but I'm going to say it: "I Told You So". Back in 2019, we released an episode called "Mycoplasma genitalium: An Overlooked STI". Then, in Sept 2023, we released an episode called, "The Neglected STI", referring to trichomoniasis. Well, on July 22, 2025, a new commentary was released in the AJOG which is making the case why both Trich and MGen SHOULD be reportable STIs, yet they are currently not reportable. Listen in for details and a quick summary/reminder on therapy. 1. https://www.ajog.org/article/S0002-9378(25)00498-3/fulltext2. https://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment-guidelines/trichomoniasis.htm3.https://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment-guidelines/mycoplasmagenitalium.htm

Dana's Between Two Trailers:Home, it turns out, is where the war is. It's also where the healing begins.Dana Trent is only a preschooler the first time she uses a razor blade to cut up weed and fill dime bags for her schizophrenic father, King. While King struggles with his unmedicated psychosis, Dana's mother, the Lady, a cold and self-absorbed woman whose personality disorders rule the home, guards large bricks of drugs from the safety of their squalid trailer. But when the Lady impulsively plucks Dana from the Midwest and moves the two of them south, their fresh start results in homelessness and bankruptcy. In North Carolina, Dana becomes torn between her gritty midwestern past and her newfound desire to be a polite southern girl, struggling to reconcile her shame with an ache to figure out who she is, and where she belongs. But the past is never far behind. After persevering through childhood and eventually graduating from Duke University, Dana imagines that her hidden Indiana life is finally behind her, only to realize that running from her upbringing has kept her from making peace with the people and places that shaped her. In this episode of Now that's Significant, a market research podcast, host Michael Howard is joined by Jennifer Trich Kremer, UX Research Lead for Logitech's digital experience. Jennifer studies consumer shopping behaviors and user experience benchmarking to deliver actionable insights. Her expertise spans qualitative and quantitative research, including combining analytics, market, and user research data to tell a holistic user story. Jennifer's focused on improving the user experience throughout her career, splitting time between design and research. Her work was integral in creating the first online ordering system for IBM, automating the manual printing process at Hewitt, and creating easy-to-use healthcare experiences. While her design experiences have been meaningful, she now focuses on research, data, and mentorship. On the episode, Michael and Jennifer discuss how market researchers can make their work more impactful, ensuring it has a place in an organization, and how it can be presented to different audiences. They also discuss Big Qual, where qualitative research is going, the three elements of today's qualitative research toolkit, and more. We hope you enjoy. *** Infotools Harmoni is a fit-for-purpose market research analysis, visualization, and reporting platform that gives the world's leading brands the tools they need to better understand their consumers, customers, organization, and market. Trichomoniasis is the most prevalent nonviral sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the United States and is more prevalent than chlamydia and gonorrhea combined. In the US, the southern states share a disproportionate burden of infection, with rates up to 14%. Infection with Trichomonas vaginalis increases risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) acquisition and is associated with adverse perinatal outcomes, including preterm birth, low birth weight, and preterm premature rupture of membranes. Although 80% of infections are asymptomatic, there are no national recommendations for trichomoniasis screening in women who are HIV-negative (including pregnant women who are HIV-negative), except for incarcerated women, where screening is recommended. Plus, there is also perpetual controversy surrounding whether asymptomatic trich should be treated in pregnancy or not. Why is that? Shouldn't we always treat STIs in pregnancy? The data is a bit confusing for asymptomatic trichomoniasis. We'll review the data in this episode and we will end with some practical advice for treatment of trich in pregnancy.
