Airplane owners and CFI candidates Anita Ammon and Ava Trate struck up a friendship while mentoring each other to complete their flight instructor credentials. Plus, Ian and David put AOPA ePilot's 25th anniversary in perspective, explain the A&P Moss interpretation, a reduction in fees at Signature FBOs, new FAA regs for eVTOL pilots, GAMI G100 in California, and cattle waste that might one day power aircraft (and that's no b.s.).

Paul never recovered from God including the Gentiles in the salvation invitation. Like some of us, perhaps, he felt like some people should be excluded by virtue of where they were born or how badly they have behaved. More than included, Paul instructs that former ‘outsiders' should be treated as precious insiders, treated even better than we would treat ourselves. What would it look like if love came to town?

God is often found in the most unlikely of places and people. We so often build monolithic communities of people who look like us, talk like us, and share the same ideological perspectives as us... but the revelation (one of many) of this story might be that our salvation is held with those who are often in the margins of our lives, whose experiences and understanding of the world are different than us. Looking forward to diving deeper into this story Sunday.
Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 15-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, from Sunday through Thursday. US correspondent Jacob Magid and Palestinian Affairs correspondent Aaron Boxerman join host Amanda Borschel-Dan. There was an action-packed Knesset session yesterday in which the coalition fought off two votes of no-confidence, with a little help from — not Ra'am, which is still in the midst of a three-week freeze from voting with the coalition — but its "friends" in the six-member Arab Joint List party. What's going on here? Jordanian King Hussein is set to meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House. Among the topics up for discussion is a demand from Jordan that it be allowed to increase the staff of the Waqf, which is responsible for day-to-day administration of the Temple Mount. Last week we began hearing reports that Israel is planning to green light some 4,000 new units in Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Additionally, it will legalize some already built neighborhoods and settlements. Predictably, the US opposed, saying it would harm the path towards a two-state solution. How does this affect the US-PA relationship? Yesterday, Judge Khaled Kabub became the first Muslim appointed to Israel's Supreme Court. The 64-year-old Kabub, who until now served as vice president of the Tel Aviv District Court, will take the place of retiring justice Neal Hendel. Who is he? Discussed articles include: Coalition fends off no-confidence challenges as Knesset gets back to work Jordanian king expected to meet Biden at White House amid Temple Mount tensions Israel to agree to Jordanian request to expand Waqf staff on Temple Mount – report US slams slated settlement approvals: ‘Deeply damages prospect for 2 state solution' Israel set to advance 4,000 settlement homes, testing US opposition Khaled Kabub sworn in as Israeli Supreme Court's first Muslim justice Subscribe to The Times of Israel Daily Briefing on iTunes, Spotify, PlayerFM, Google Play, or wherever you get your podcasts. Two Unlikely Friends Challenge Sexism in Silicon Valley in Lainey Cameron's “The Exit Strategy” In this episode 224, we visit with Lainey Cameron, #1 Amazon bestselling author of “The Exit Strategy,” a powerful and satisfying tale of two women brought together by the misdeeds of one duplicitous man and the friendship forged from their shared anger. Ryn Brennan and Carly Santos are both bright and accomplished women in male-dominated fields, and therefore familiar with the subtle and not-so-subtle sexism that comes along with the job. After discovering that Ryn's husband and Carly's fiancé are one and the same, the two women band together to overcome heartbreak and ensure their mutual success. Jennifer Klepper, the USA Today bestselling author of “Unbroken Threads,” had this to say about the book, “A #metoo story powered by real life, real hope, and an unlikely friendship between two women who find their true strength when they join forces to fight an entire industry steeped in sexism and one man who wronged them both. With smart prose and the insight of someone who's been in the trenches, Cameron brings warmth and emotion to this Silicon Valley story of power, ambition, and friendship.” Engage with the show here: https://linktr.ee/CharlotteReadersPodcast Detailed show notes here: https://charlottereaderspodcast.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/charlottereaderspodcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/charlottereaderspodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/charlottereader Charlotte Readers Podcast is a proud member of the Authors on the Air Global Radio Network and the Queen City Podcast Network. © Charlotte Readers Podcast and Authors on the Air Global Radio Network

Brush the dust off that book on your top shelf. The one you keep there to look extra smart. Because there's a reason that book has been around for over one hundred years. It's actually really good! Many people immediately associate the word "classics" with dull, out-of-date bores that they have to trudge through in high school and college. However, this isn't always true. Sure, some have existed merely because they are hard to read and make the reader feel smarter by finishing them, nevertheless, many still stand today because generations have found them enthralling. Join us today as we discuss classics, J.R.R Tolkien and C.S. Lewis' friendship, and why we should care about it all with Dr. Joseph Loconte. Dr. Loconte is the author of the NYT bestseller, "A Hobbit, a Wardrobe, and a Great War: How J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis Rediscovered Faith, Friendship, and Heroism in the Cataclysm of 1914-1918," and director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies at the Heritage Foundation. He is also an AWC Family Foundation Fellow. Don't forget to grab a classic on your way out! May I suggest The Great Gatsby or Dracula?Unfortunately, we forgot to ask our last two questions. Here they are and Dr. Loconte's answers: 1. What books have had an impact on you and why? After the Bible, I would say:--"Modern Times: A History of the World from the 1920s to 1980s," by Paul Johnson. I read it many years ago, and I think it was the first history book I read that showed how bad ideas about God and morality can lead to terrible consequences in the world. It got me excited about history.--"Here I Stand: A Life of Martin Luther," by Roland Bainton. This was my introduction to the great Protestant Reformer, Martin Luther, and I came away deeply impressed by Luther’s courage and commitment to the ScripturesI could add many more (Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity, etc.), but I’ll leave it there.2. What advice do you have for teenagers?Pursue the activities, books, music, hobbies, and friends that really engage you, bring out the best in you, stir up your creativity and bring you joy. Don’t worry about trying to find the “one thing” that you’re good at, because God gives all of us various gifts—not just one gift—to serve Him and others. And, with the help of family and friends and the grace of God, you’ll discover what those gifts are over time.------------------------------------------------------------------Our Website: https://www.aimingforthemoon.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aiming4moon/Twitter: https://twitter.com/Aiming4MoonYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6-TwYdfPcWV-V1JvjBXkSupport Dr. Loconte's movie by donating here: http://hobbitwardrobe.com/

Friends forever (this is not a scary episode)
A fish and a shark become friends.
Alex Shepard from The New Republic joins Chad and Tom to discuss the state of book journalism, the new National Book Award for Translation, Chad's annoying whining about BookMarks, Winter Institute, and more. It's a fun episode that goes deep into some contemporary book publishing issues--and the disparity between the haves and have nots--while remaining entertaining and a bit unhinged. This week's music is "The Best Trick in Modern Science" by Unlikely Friends. Yes, this is the second week in a row that we're featuring this album. It's great! Sorry, while we're goofing on Rochester's delusional ambitions, I have to share this. Please try and make sense of those statements. This week's music is "Crooked Numbers" by Unlikely Friends. According to the Torah, homosexuality is forbidden. That injunction is what makes Rabbi Zuckerman, a frail old man, recoil when he learns that a new friend, a twentysomething named Benji Steiner, is gay. These characters and their relationship anchor a new novel, Sweet Like Sugar, by Wayne Hoffman. It’s a story that takes on identity, personal secrets, and the search for connection. The novel is something of a departure for Hoffman, whose debut, Hard, took a much more explicit look at gay life, describing the personal and political engagement of a group of gay men in the late 1990s in Greenwich Village. Hoffman, the managing editor of Tablet Magazine, will accept the prestigious Stonewall Book Award/Barbara Gittings Literature Award at the annual American Library Association conference today....
