Earlier this week I made a screaming trip across the state to attend a Democrat sponsored legislative town-hall.  It was billed as "Come Hear the Full Story: Cheyenne, Checkgate and What's Next."  Granted, things would have turned out different had I not walked through the door; but, there was very little of the Democrats' "full story." What did happen though is Liz Storer encouraging the room to cross-over vote and a shockingly conservative argument from a Redcoat.

Ever since I was little I've been fascinated by the American Revolution, and I always wanted to see Concord Bridge, where it sort of all began. You know, the shot heard around the world? By the time I got there, I had two little boys of my own who were not fascinated by the American Revolution. I wanted to spend a while at Concord Bridge, imagining those Colonial farmers descending and the Red Coats stepping up to the bridge in their rigid formation. Unfortunately my sons were not interested in all of that. I tried to tell them the story; yawn! Come on, this is vacation. Who cares about history, right? One last idea. I got their tricorn hats that we bought them and we got some sticks for them to use as muskets. I made them the Americans and I played Red Coat. So they came charging across one side of the Concord Bridge. I went running away from them. I eventually ended up fatally wounded. And when we were done they said, "Let's do it again, Daddy!" Of course they won every time. They became interested, but not until they had a part. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "From the Backseat to the Battle." Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Matthew 20:6-7. Jesus is telling a story about a man who needs help at harvest time. He's gone out three times during the day to get more and more help. And finally, he goes out near the end of the working day, and it says this: "About the eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, 'Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?' 'Because no one has hired us' they answered. He said to them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard.'" There's an urgent job to be done! Harvest time passes fast; you've got to get to it. There's only a few days to make it all happen. Big job - urgent job with not enough help. Men standing around? Why? Because they said they didn't have a job to do. So Jesus says here basically there's a job for everyone in the harvest; the harvest of human hearts. See, a lot of church folks are like my sons at Concord Bridge. You hear the facts about the battle. You hear stories of what other people have done to reach people, but you're not playing any active part. You're just watching. Actually God doesn't intend to have any of His kids just be spectators. This is a war with life-or-death stakes going on. He wants you out of the stands and into the game. Maybe your Christianity is kind of gray and boring. And it is until you get a mission, not just hear about people with a mission. You need a job to do for Jesus, and you can be sure He's got one. You're surrounded by work He needs done. There are boys who need you. There are girls who need you to reach out to them. There are senior citizens who are lonely and need to hear about Christ in their few remaining years. There are teenagers maybe you could connect with. There are homeless people. There are Christian workers who are buried in administrative detail and you could help relieve them for the work that only they can do. You are urgently needed somewhere I'll tell you. When you get a mission, when you get a piece of the action, your faith comes alive. You read the Bible with a new appetite, you pray with a new intensity, and you listen with a new openness. You can't just go to church to get filled up and meet your needs. It's a staging area for God's rescue operation on earth launched at the cross. It's a place for God's soldiers. It's a place to get ready for the battles that affect people's eternities. Christianity seems hollow, meaningless and boring without a personal mission, and you are needed. So don't just listen to secondhand facts about the battle for human souls and for eternities. Do what my boys did. Grab a musket and run to the battle in Jesus' name.

Already there's a ton of people running for office.  For Governor, there's 4 and there'll probably be more.  We conservatives can't seem to get in a room and decide who's the best candidate.  Wyoming's political history is lots of people run for an office and then the liberal Redcoat gets elected--that's been the last 16 years...or more. To even consider running for office there's 4 things you have to have first: name recognition, cash, hard work and a fourth one which is definitely the most important. On Friday, Rebecca Bextel and I announced The Open Range Record--an entirely new media platform.  The website is up and running and soon we will have our mobile app. This week is bound the be full of campaign announcements.  Get ready, it's going to be a busy one!

Generally, leftists accuse Republicans of what they are doing.  In this case, the billboard accuses Honor Wyoming of not being transparent or accountable.  Pretty rich coming from a group that has almost absolutely nothing online about them.  However, there is a little nugget in their website data.  The website was registered by a Utah company that has some pretty spooky ties.

Rock 'n' Roll Icon Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon Unwraps New Holiday Hit: "Red Coat Santa"Just in time for the holiday season, rock 'n' roll icon Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon is back with a brand-new Christmas single, "Red Coat Santa." Written and recorded by Cannon himself, the festive track blends his signature high-energy style with the warmth and nostalgia of the holidays."Red Coat Santa" is generating buzz among fans of classic rock and holiday music alike. The song is available now on all major streaming platforms.Cannon, best known for his 1962 smash hit "Palisades Park" and his electrifying performances on American Bandstand, brings his unmistakable voice and timeless rock 'n' roll flair to this original holiday tune. With sleigh bells, saxophones, and a toe-tapping beat, "Red Coat Santa" is poised to become a seasonal favorite."I've always loved Christmas music, and I wanted to create something that felt both classic and new," said Cannon. "Red Coat Santa" is my way of bringing a little rock 'n' roll joy to the season. I hope it makes people smile, dance, and remember what the holidays are all about-fun, family, and music.""When I wrote this tune, I thought no one had really ever sung about Santa's famous outfit. And I was inspired by my angel, my wife, Jeannette, who passed away earlier this year" said Cannon. This release marks Cannon's return to the holiday music scene following his 2002 album Have a Boom Boom Christmas, which featured both classic covers and original songs. Now, over two decades later, "Red Coat Santa" proves that Freddy Cannon's rock 'n' roll spirit is as vibrant as ever.Cannon holds the record for the artist with the most appearances on "American Bandstand" (110 times).Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

The pivotal year of 1870 brought down the curtain on the redcoat garrison world at both the metropolitan and colonial ends of the empire . . . In fewer than forty years, less than a lifetime, Aotearoa had gone from being a Māori world in which rangatira dominated, to a colony in which the settler state was in control of the economy, politics and people's social destiny. Garrison World: Redcoat Soldiers in New Zealand and across the British Empire (Bridget Williams Books, 2025) by Professor Charlotte Macdonald explores the lives of soldiers, sailors and their families stationed in Aotearoa New Zealand and across the British empire in the nineteenth century. Spanning the decades from 1840 to 1870, this major new history from Charlotte Macdonald places the New Zealand Wars within the wider framework of imperial power. It shows how conflict and resistance throughout the empire, from rebellion in India to the Morant Bay uprising in Jamaica, were connected to the colonial project in New Zealand. At the centre of this history are the thousands who served in the British military – from rank-and-file soldiers and bluejackets drawn from working-class Britain and Ireland, to officers from elite backgrounds who purchased their commissions. Their presence in New Zealand was vital to the imposition of imperial control, both during times of war and in the intervening years when the garrison underpinned a fragile settler economy and society. Through rich archival detail and personal accounts, Garrison World traces the structures, experiences and legacies of military occupation. Acknowledging the impact on Māori communities and whenua, the book offers a critical and unflinching account of how imperial authority was imposed – and often violently asserted. This is a compelling and significant contribution to understanding the reordering of power that shaped Aotearoa in the nineteenth century. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. Now, over two decades later, "Red Coat Santa" proves that Freddy Cannon's rock 'n' roll spirit is as vibrant as ever.Cannon holds the record for the artist with the most appearances on "American Bandstand" (110 times).Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Welcome to Not Another Mummy Podcast - 10 Minute Confidence Boost! This is a brand new mini podcast series from me. 10 Minute Confidence Boost will be exactly what it says on the tin… bite-sized episodes about confidence which will go out in between the main podcast shows. Each episode will see a guest share their top confidence tip or mindset shift with me.This week's guests are best mates but when it comes to confidence, they are like chalk and cheese. Nina Ambrose has always been confident, from her days as a Butlin's Red Coat to being in pop group Red Alert. Meanwhile Tash says she has spent most of her life with zero confidence, and it's only since hitting the menopause, five years ago, that she has felt confident. Both have brilliant advice on finding inner self-worth!Follow Rants and Big Pants on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rantsandbigpantsIf you enjoyed this episode then please leave a rating or review - and you can follow the podcast to ensure you don't miss future episodes. Thank you! Not Another Mummy Podcast is brought to you by me, journalist and author Alison Perry. I'm a mum of three and I love interviewing people about parenthood on the podcast. Your heroes return to discuss Redcoat!"British soldier and all-around rogue Simon Pure has led quite an exciting life. Or lives, really. After a failed assassination of General George Washington at the Battle of Trenton in 1776, Simon stumbled upon hooded figures performing a bizarre ritual that accidentally gave him immortality.Since that fateful day, Simon has died and returned countless times over, rubbing elbows (and sometimes fists) with history's most renowned figures, including his nemesis Benedict Arnold, Albert Einstein, and many more. But what are the true origins and extent of Simon's power, and the clandestine cabal behind them? And how does this group intend to use him to destroy America? Simon means to find out, even if it finally kills him!"In this episode we chat about the comic, why we love lore, and discuss our founding fathers. As always you'll hear us cover the History of the Creators, Favorite Lines, The Art Awards, and Adaptation Alley. Redcoat is written by Geoff Johns, art by Bryan Hitch, colored by Brad Anderson, lettered by Rob Leigh, and published by Image Comics.Follow ComiClub on Instagram @ComiClubPodcast.ComiClub is hosted by Blaine McGaffigan and Adam Cook.
