Here's some jams for all of you who enjoy that classic soul.  Whether you grew up with all these songs or you're a young kid with an old soul.  When I was growing up I was actually trying to go back and do my history of what people were listening to before my time.  So it's only right I pass on some of my favorites to you.  Hope you can relate.  Enjoy.

Atlanta born and truly Southern raised, Winston Warrior painfully lost his virginity to the music industry in the ‘90s. As an original member of the break-out R&B group, Lo’ Profile, they already had two hit singles, “Missing You” and “Play Melody” on radio rotation and garnered much local industry acclaim. Winston, along with his group-mates, were frequently booked as opening acts for major artists such as Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Dru Hill, Soul 4 Real, and Bone Thugs N Harmony. With packed venues, a growing fanbase, and a successful audition with an influential player in the game, all of the group’s hurdles had been cleared with grace. Success, however, never comes easily and it soon became apparent how crucial a role ulterior motives had played and the group split up. While the collaborative dream did not make it to fruition, the ever present longing for Winston to create and fulfill his artistic goals never dissipated. He was now armed with a business degree from the University of Miami and had plenty of production and performance experience under his belt to pursue a path in marketing. Although not in the spotlight as before, success in Winston’s corporate endeavors soon followed and he was able to make new as well as retain strong industry connections. Hesitant to reemerge as a musician because he had been away for so long, Winston’s insecurities overshadowed his desire to sing. Winston’s support system was instrumental in encouraging him to reconnect with his music. The sound of his music harkens back to the sounds of one-name legends like Luther, Freddie, Teddy, Barry, and Donny. Winston’s music is a fusion of smooth hip hop beats and harmonic R&B themes. His music pays tribute to the feel-good R&B and soul music of the late 80’s and 90’s, but with the edginess of today’s production. Die Keynote zum Kongress mit dem Titel TALES FROM THE URBAN MOBILE MEN hielt Mikael Colville-Anderson, einer der einflussreichsten Aktivisten für urbanes Fahrradfahren zur Zeit. Er betreibt die Sites copenhagenize.com und copenhagencyclechic.com/. Nach dem Kongress haben wir uns unterhalten zu Themen wie Mode und was sie mit Wahrnehmung und Respekt zu tun hat. Über Vintage-Räder und warum nur wenige Menschen auf Liegerädern unterwegs sind und darüber, dass man sich entscheiden muss, was man lieber möchte, mehr Fahrräder auf den Straßen oder mehr Helme auf den Köpfen. Die Präsentationen zu den Vorträgen gibt es online bei VELOBerlin. Nächste Woche gibt es wieder ein Gespräch mit Thomas, bei dem ich ein wenig mehr über den Kongress und die Messe berichten werde.
